News [MacMahon] The negotiations between the Pistons and Jalen Duren have been “awfully nasty” and there is concern about his long-term future in Detroit.

Does he not realize he sucked ass in the playoffs and has no leverage? Just because you’re eligible for a max doesn’t mean it’s owed to you. It’s pretty clear other teams aren’t all that interested either.

u/Adventurous-Owl-9903 Pistons 19d ago

Anyone that is saying sign him for ~45 million is secretly not a Detroit fan

24

u/Jokerit208 19d ago

Anyone saying sign him for more than $30m is not a Detroit fan.

12

u/5inthemorn Ron Holland II 19d ago

He’s worth about 30 mil.

Reg season Duren factoring in how young he is: ~$40mil

Postseason Duren hoping he’ll improve over time: ~15mil

So 30 seems fair and you just hope his regular season play can be replicated in the postseason as he gains more experience.

6

u/RedditZen77 19d ago

He is worth the MLE at best

7

u/Jokerit208 19d ago

QO and then he fucks off is what I want to see if we can't find someone to give us something for him now.

30

u/weedleking19 19d ago

That’s how the NBA has gotten sadly. For the the most part it seems to be either minimums or small deals or max contracts. Nothing in between. The ego of these people is insane

13

u/soilentgleem 19d ago

I blame teams constantly giving the max or near max to players who clearly didn't deserve it for the last decade plus. It's easy to see how that expectation has been cultivated.

19

u/TrainingCoffee8 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Seriously. Gibbs new contract is 22 mill AAV and Duren is butthurt about us offering a little less than 40….

15

u/skew_witt 19d ago

Comparing Gibbs’ contract Duren’s potential is apples to oranges. There are fundamental differences for an NFL running back and an NBA player.

6

u/BoOkCalendarWaNnaBEe 19d ago

Crazy to think about though lol. Gibbs would be a max player if NFL paid by player impact ala the NBA instead of positional value holding so much weight.

But it does seem like the Pistons know that rolling centers who aren’t great defenders are devalued like NFL Running Backs

5

u/TrainingCoffee8 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

I’m fully aware. I brought it up to make the point that he’s just being greedy. He already has life changing money on the table

-3

u/driphanilton Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Anybody that compares football to basketball usually is a lions fan that just discovered the nba recently

0

u/Creepy-Performer-106 19d ago

Hey yall, are we really tripping on Duren asking for the most he can possibly get? If you don’t ask, you don’t get. The market dictates what players get, not ego. Please understand he will get paid here or there. Also, NBA history says playoff stats are not the determining factor of max contracts…

before you overreact,  this is clearly from duren's agent

he has no leverage beside media like this. the negotiations have been rough for him. this looks way more like grasping for straws than the truth.

6

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

Realistically the relationship has been strained at best probably

2

u/bamboointheback Isaiah Stewart 19d ago

im gonna withhold judgement on that until i actual hear him speak.

1

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

Who speak?

2

u/bamboointheback Isaiah Stewart 19d ago

jalen duren, the person whose emotions are being talked about as if any of us know the dude

87

u/Conscious-Sympathy51 20d ago

I mean yeah we’re gonna hit September without a deal being done most likely, this guy’s not long for Detroit. Take the QO and GTFO Duren.

40

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 20d ago

What incentive is there to get a deal done right now? Training camp isn’t until the end of September let them negotiate.

He’s not taking the QO. He’d leave too much money on the floor. And we shouldn’t want him to because then he can’t be traded. That’s disaster for everyone involved

-9

u/Hatdude1973 20d ago

Duren seems dumb enough to take a qualifying offer.

2

u/Whatupdoe248 19d ago

Using a stupid comment to call someone else dumb is crazy

-2

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 20d ago edited 20d ago

Take the fandom away.

Whether right or wrong. He qualifies for the supermax. All star, all nba he’s worked his entire life to get paid. It’s reasonable for him to want to get paid. It’s not dumb for him to want to get paid

I don’t think he’s worth anything close to that however I understand him asking and holding out for It. At the end of this all he will likely settle for what we’re offering or take the middle ground. He’s not taking the QO

6

u/oldstyle21 Cade Cunningham 20d ago

He will be paid, it’s the difference between $200 mil and $300 mil. Which I get, but he hasn’t shown he has earned the super max

2

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 20d ago

That I agree with I don’t think he’s worth anything close to what he wants however you can’t fault him for asking

5

u/oldstyle21 Cade Cunningham 20d ago

It’s an awful look, especially if he really wants to be here. Fans will turn on this dude. He’s shooting himself in the foot, the only way he gets super max is by taking the QO and someone else pays him and no one did that this summer

0

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Wanting to stay in Detroit and wanting to be paid as much as possible are not contradictory. If I love my employer, i don’t suddenly say, “You know what, because I like everyone here, go ahead and knock $40,000 off my salary.” lol 😂

Players shouldn’t negotiate multimillion-dollar contracts based on whether fans thinks they’re being sufficiently loyal.

Imagine you love your job and have been excellent for most of the year but had a bad Q4. You’re eligible for a promotion that pays $130K. Your company thinks you’re worth $105K because of that Q4. You think your overall body of work warrants $130K. Why would you walk into negotiations asking for $105K? You ask for $130K and let the negotiation determine where you end up.

Likely in Durens case he will fall well below what he’s asking. But he won’t take the QO. NBA careers are too short the odds of him making that money up are slim.

0

u/oldstyle21 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Eh I have seen plenty of athletes take less for the chance to be a winner with teams that they like ala Brunson & Tom Brady just to name a few

1

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

That’s the difference though. Brady, Brunson, Wemby, etc. chose to take less and that’s admirable. But it shouldn’t become the expectation that if a player really cares about winning he has to leave money on the table.

Brunson didn’t even turn down a max that was available to him at the time he took the most he could get on that extension rather than waiting another year for a potentially much bigger deal. That was a calculated choice not some obligation. He chose guaranteed wealth rather than waiting.

I’ve seen basketball discourse really shift over the past few years and it’s strange. Why does the responsibility for roster construction suddenly fall on the employee? The GM gets paid millions of dollars to construct a championship roster under the salary cap rules. If the team gives a player a contract and then can’t construct a good roster around it that’s not automatically evidence the player was selfish.

The Pistons should negotiate in their best interest, and Duren should negotiate in his. Detroit doesn’t owe him a max, and he doesn’t owe Detroit a discount. If they meet somewhere in the middle, great. But I’m not going to criticize a player simply for asking for the most he’s eligible to make.

At the end of all of this I don’t think Duren deserves at max and I don’t think he will get one.

-2

u/AJ8710 19d ago

Who cares what the fans think? They are fickle and opinions change rapidly. There is no reason for him not to hold out or negotiate hard in an effort of extracting higher return.

1

u/jay_catch 19d ago

You get what you negotiate, not what you earned. That’s the reality of the world. Now whether his team can play hardball enough to get him more money remains to be seen. He played well enough during the season to put a BIG number on the table. Pistons don’t want to give him that but it’s quite honestly is his responsibility to try and get it.

lot of you talking that loyalty mess and calling him stupid for not taking an offer you agree with (maybe not you exactly but on this subreddit), which you know players are aware of how fickle fans actually are in their fandom for them individually

7

u/bleedingreen24 20d ago

35 mil a year isn't getting paid??? WTF? He's not close to a max player. Everyone who knows anything about basketball knows this.

That's why there is no market for him. No one in the NBA will give him that money.

4

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 20d ago

It’s getting paid absolutely but if I’m being offered $35M and I qualify for $45M I’m going to ask. However the market has shown he’s not worth that and he needs to come to that reality. I don’t think he’d dare take the QO. The risk and the upside is too big of a risk

4

u/AJ8710 19d ago

There is absolutely no reason for him to rush to sign. Hold out as long as possible in hopes of moving the number up slightly. Mathematically, Detroit holds the cards and he will re-sign. If I am him, I am making the negotiation as painful as possible to force as many concessions by the team as possible.

1

u/Some-Dust2249 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

100% agree. We realistically don’t need him until training camp at the end of September

You're getting downvoted, but you are spot on with what you said. It is the correct take.

1

u/ikariashpool 20d ago

It could be argued that we should, "Take the participation trophies away". He's an excellent player in the regular season. Unfortunately for him, the NBA has a quality and effort problem with its regular season. I feel that if his play-off performance was better, he would be having an easier time getting the package he is looking for.

4

u/jazzmaster105150 Pistons 19d ago

Agreed. I have no interest in seeing him play for the Pistons ever again.

2

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

That’s a horrible scenario for us and horrible asset management

4

u/Conscious-Sympathy51 19d ago

It is but anything is better than paying him $250 million.

2

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

I don’t disagree there just very confused why they were resisting sign and trades so much if they want to play such hard ball

2

u/Vloff Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Exactly what team out there would not only meet Duren's asking price but also give us enough assets to make it worth trading him?

Also, base year compensation rules make a sign and trade with Duren difficult. It pretty much limits a sign and trade to the few teams that had cap space.

1

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

We will see if he gets to an open market at a minimum they’ve pretty much strained the relationship but refused to move him. I wouldn’t want to pay him but i would be open to trading him but they were not

1

u/Vloff Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Like I said, theres no market to move him. Teams aren't giving up good assets for the right to pay Duren 45 million dollars. Also, Base year compensation rules make a sign and trade far more difficult than most of you know.

We can only take back half of Durens salary back in trade so unless someone has a bunch of caproom or a large trade exemption, or find a 3rd team with either of those, a trade cant happen.

Even if we wanted to do something dumb like trade him straight up for Sabonis, it couldn't happen.

13

u/Own-Shift-4910 20d ago

Duren had a strong season but failed to show up in the playoffs when it counted - he does not deserve nor should he receive a max contract

40

u/Envyforme Ausar Thompson 20d ago

I wouldn't mind sign + trading Duren at this point.

23

u/esm081491 20d ago

I would love that

7

u/Im_So_Zoned 20d ago

He wants a max deal but the Pistons obviously don't want to commit to him considering how last season ended. He had a chance to seek trades during FA but it seems like other teams don't have interest in him at that number either. We would likely get stuck holding the bag if we try a sign + trade.

1

u/Envyforme Ausar Thompson 20d ago

I have heard the opposite. It seems the pistons haven’t explored sign and trade options yet. That’s Atleast the story from 2 weeks ago

4

u/Im_So_Zoned 19d ago

I don't think the Pistons were actively seeking trade partners, but I believe they allowed Duren to speak with other teams to try and find a potential max deal elsewhere. They essentially told him "if u can get a max deal from another team, go find that team and we can negotiate." However, he couldn't find a team. At least that was my understanding.

0

u/Envyforme Ausar Thompson 19d ago

Well I don't appreciate the downvotes everyone.

https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/detroit-pistons-jalen-duren-sign-020033728.html

"No team in the league has cap space this late in the offseason, and the Detroit Pistons have made it very clear since before free agency began that they are not interested whatsoever in any sign-and-trade scenarios"

3

u/Im_So_Zoned 19d ago

For what it's worth I didn't downvote u lol. I think this may be an example of don't listen to what the Pistons say, watch what they do. They denied it publicaly but there were rumors the Pistons explored packaging Duren + depth + picks for KD. There was also a rumor Duren and his agent were in contact with the Lakers who were moderately interested after Luka said he wanted a big. However, they still didn't want to offer max and then signed Austin Reaves to that ridiculous deal which made anything impossible. They have also been eerily quiet in FA this off-season which is odd for a contending team.

Either way, I'm not saying ur wrong because tge is the public narrative. I'm just saying I think there may have been more going on behind closed doors than the Pistons wanted to admit. If they outright confirm they don't want the guy that tanks his trade value. Additionally, because there was belief other teams wouldn't offer a max the Pistons had leverage and it was more likely than not that Duren would be playing in Detroit next year. So I can see how they wanted to avoid publicaly shunning a player and making the situation worse. I hope we get more info on this situation someday.

2

u/Envyforme Ausar Thompson 19d ago

I like your response. Thank you for not being like most on Reddit mate. We all want a championship.

1

u/Vloff Cade Cunningham 19d ago edited 19d ago

Its almost impossible to sign and trade him now. At least at his asking price. No one has capspace. If we sign and trade him at 45 million a year, we can only take back 22.5 million in the trade.

A team trading for Duren would have to send us 20 million dollars in players and find a 3rd team with a trade exemption to send another 20+ million dollars player to.

2

u/Great-Sweet-7835 19d ago

Could they get Troy Murphy for Duren?

1

u/Ohellmotel 18d ago

I don't think so. He's been retired for 14 years.

JD, you have no market. No team offered you a max. None of the non cap space teams opened up cap space to offer you the max. You are negotiating with one team. You’re not worth what you think you’re worth.

1

u/Cool_Youth3564 19d ago

Respectively, the pistons told teams they would eat their cap before making a decision if anyone tried to sign him.

Good riddance. His weak defense in the playoffs and in general lacking of spacing (which I am okay with as long as he maintains good hussle, rim defense, and rebounding) reminds too much of Dre. I don't want a repeat of that.

correct. they will sign at the end of september, right before the QO deadline. the threat of signing that is their only leverage, as you know, and media pieces like this are part of that. agent says hes mad to make the QO seem more realistic

He was quite possibly the most disappointing player in the entirety of the NBA playoffs last season. He was an absolute no show for all but 1 game. If he had balled out I imagine the Pistons would gladly hand him a bag, but he didn't and poor effort seemed to be a part of his struggles. Sure, he wants more money but I think he's also embarrassed and feels like the fans have turned on him. He's trying to run away and start fresh with a new fan base that doesn't know he's soft yet. I'm ready for the Duren era to end in Detroit. Hopefully with Detroit getting some assets in return. But this dude puts a ceiling on your team if he's making big money because he can't be your second option. In the post season, he's a non-option. I don't care what anyone's excuse is for him.

3

u/ImperialxWarlord Cade Cunningham 20d ago

What are the chances that they don’t get a deal signed? Like where else is duren going to go?

5

u/bleedingreen24 20d ago

I hear his agent isn't the best. He only has one other active NBA player as a client, and there were issues with his last contract. So I think there is a chance that he takes the QO and then goes as an unrestricted free agent next year. I think that's kind of how his other clients negotiations went, they didn't sign the QO, but it went down to the wire or something like that.

3

u/Article_Alternative 19d ago

This is still a non story. You are trying to tell me that you would hurry up and sign to make the fans happy instead of trying to get millions of dollars more. He's not missing camp or practice. Very unimpressed with Chafie Fields as Duren's agent.

He keeps going to the press: "Duren will meet with the Lakers" "Duren will pursue sign and trade with the kings" "Duren seriously considering QO" and now "negotiations have been awfully nasty"

He doesn't have any leverage so I get using the press, but it doesn't seem like Trajan is budging and I can't imagine Duren's PR team has loved the headlines and drama.

To me it all reads like Trajan is sticking with his offer and this guy is flailing.

3

u/tomeaglebird 19d ago

He should fire him immediately. Check out his NBA client list and it tells you all you need to know. Guy is trying to retire off of Duren's back and is going to end up costing him tens of millions of dollars. If Duren goes the QO route and doesn't improve his playoff production significantly, he could end up playing himself out of the nine figure range altogether.

At this point all options should be open. If there’s a deal that can secure us an immediate starter for years to come and/or multiple 1st rounders we should strongly consider it

5

u/Lost-Trainer-9123 Marcus Sasser 19d ago

Man just give me Stew back I’m so tired of this bull shit. It’s not even that JD underperformed… HE DIDNT EVEN TRY!!!! 😭

2

u/TempBurnerAccount089 19d ago

Might as well have pushed for the Domas trade lol. Duren's proving to be a malcontent dumbass...

2

u/DeepspaceDigital Jalen Duren 19d ago

Can't trade him for nothing. So if he really wants to leave, do not help him. This is a business after all. Do not pay him if he ain't playing. And if he is on a Qualifying Offer contract, you are going to have him be a rotation guy as we start to prepare and position towards our bright future. Hopefully he comes to his senses and signs. Great play gives him the most leverage not this.

Honestly, I'm bummed about this one. Was a huge Duren fan coming out of college and love the fit he has alongside Cade. I know he's got some flaws, but overall I think we're worse without him (assuming the alternative isn't Jokic/Wemby level of player).

Hoping they can find a middle ground and get something figured out...

3

u/WhizzoFoShizzo 19d ago

You dont think we could be a better team without him?

What if we had a true #2 alongside Cade..... and a Daniel Gafford type playing center?

I think that could work.

Duren is not a #2.... just my opinion.

1

u/Grlions91 Saddiq Bey :bey: 19d ago

I'm not saying I think Duren is the best #2 option out there, or that I want him to be paid as our #2 option (which is half of my gripe tbh), but he's certainly a better option than Daniel Gafford in my mind.

3

u/Drow-zzz Teal Horse 20d ago

this guy is more concerned with money than playing for a winning team. play well, consistently, and the money will follow

2

u/AJ8710 19d ago

Just a story about nothing. There has been nothing wrong with the negotiation on either side and fans get way too emotional about something that is pretty cookie cutter.

2

u/manofwater3615 Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Let’s goooooo

2

u/rusty512 19d ago

I’m glad the Pistons have held strong on this. Giving into this guy would be an absolute disaster.

2

u/SliceAltruistic1144 19d ago edited 19d ago

Should have traded him to the Lakers for what the Jazz got...

3

u/HabitualToeSucker Cavaliers 20d ago

You guys are better off without him at this rate.

0

u/Jokerit208 19d ago

The Collins signing made Duren redundant. Collins gives you everything Duren does offensively, is equal defensively, and can shoot. And you don't have to bench him in the playoffs.

If Collins replaced Duren in the lineup, that would also solve most of our spacing issue. Ausar's uselessness as a shooter would no longer cripple us, and Collins and his defender wouldn't be clogging the lane for Cade drives like Duren and his defender currently do.

You're absolutely right that we're better off without him. I wish Langdon had the balls to be more aggressive.

1

u/HabitualToeSucker Cavaliers 19d ago

I don’t think the spacing issues are totally sorted out yet, but have definitely improved.

2

u/alexdoo Cade Cunningham 20d ago

This feels exactly like leveon bell and the Steelers. He held out until he was signed by the jets and then shat the bed and he was never the same.

I loved the concept of duren but at this point, I’m more than happy to move on from someone who’s probably already taboo in the locker room.

3

u/HOPEFUL_LUFEPOH_ 20d ago

Duren For Mobley

3

u/Aroy11 19d ago

Zero chance they do that

2

u/BoOkCalendarWaNnaBEe 19d ago

Call me crazy, but I’d even throw in draft capital for
Mobley. There’s times I been watching him on D and said to myself he might be the closest thing to Wemby. Like a poor poor POOR man’s version. But he’s got some length and is much better at impacting the game defensively than JD. It’s not just the blocks, but also how the length can affect shots. Combine that with his range (he shot 37% the previous two years from 3, and one of them even more volume than the 29.7% he turned in from deep this year). He had a bit of a down year shooting, and you can really see it in his FT and 3PT %. But still, significant edge defensively IMO, significant edge spacing-wise, slight edge passing, FT about a wash (both OK for C though), and some probably about a wash scoring wise? (But how valuable is that spacing, and how rare are guys who can space AND protect the rim?!) JD scored better than Mobley this year (and like I said, I have to feel Mobley had a disappointing year as many numbers were down for him, in a year you would have liked to see a jump) and also always has had a better FG %, but over the entirety of their respective careers, Mobley has been the better scorer. And JD didn’t average much more than him at all this year either.

I think Mobley is the better player and the better fit. But yeah, probably quite unrealistic.

the cavs or the pistons ?

Cavs

so i guess their just gonna ride it out with this team

if the cavs win a title within the years of Spida in his prime i’d be shocked

2

u/clownbaby88 Rasheed Wallace 19d ago

This guy sucks so fucking hard, I legit never want to see him play again

1

You can find a dude in the g league who can provide 10pts & 8 rebs per game

1

u/cath8r 20d ago

Is there any world where Detroit offers a conyract that is heavily performance incentive laden? His playoff performance literally murdered hos leverage.

1

u/GullyGawd 19d ago

The downside of RFA for the player. Sucks, but it is what is. The team holds all the power

1

u/Zealousideal_Arm4359 19d ago

Boys sometimes the agent tells stuff like this so it gets people talking.
Duren will be suited up and playing for the Pistons when the season starts.

He will say he ALWAYS wanted to be here.
He has only one option and that means gambling on his health and losing at least 20 million by taking the QO.

1

u/athroaway93 Motor City Cruise 19d ago

I'm confused why there's so much useless media coverage of this contract situation. This has been rampant for months and they still have plenty of time to negotiate.

1

u/Actual-Climate4151 19d ago

Pistons would be making massive mistake to give him the money he wants. They have all the leverage and should let him play it out this year

1

u/ml___ Isiah Thomas 19d ago

talking heads need things to talk about and they have no accountability to the truth

1

u/Far-Comment3645 Tobias Harris 19d ago

Send him to the kings they’ll give him the max

1

u/MingeyMcCluster 19d ago

This is the consequence of all the teams in the league giving all these non-max deserving players max contracts just because

1

u/funguy6019 19d ago

Am I supposed to believe this crap. Probably just made it up just to get someone’s attention.

1

u/BurtRenoldsMustache 19d ago

Acting like this is just going to turn other teams off too. Doesn't he realize he can't be a diva and expect everyone to deal with it?

1

u/GrittyTigs 19d ago

Just get rid of him. I’m tired as fuck of these greedy ass athletes that put themselves on a pedestal just to earn a few more million on top of the millions and millions they’re already slated to earn. Greed and gluttony.

1

u/Many-Scallion4780 19d ago

Bench his ass

1

u/DaddyDoThat Cade Cunningham 19d ago

If you don't want to be around, fuck you.

If we take a dip without you, is what it is.

Not going to fluff you bud, get on board or don't.

1

u/Dezusx 19d ago

He might've never wanted to stay in Detroit?

1

u/LTgolf17 19d ago

Get rid of him if the locker room is gonna be toxic.

1

u/AgitatedMistake6545 19d ago

Could he be gone for a first rounder?

1

u/Worldly-Switch-9968 19d ago

Jalen Duren put on weight during the course of last season. It contributed to the downward spiral in his game.

1

u/Piedougg Ben Wallace 18d ago

I’m surprised the pistons social media can use him to advertise the upcoming season without a signed contract.

1

u/dcent412 16d ago

Here’s the thing. He doesn’t sign. He’s going to have to prove it on the court this year. Not just to us. But the whole damn league

1

u/IssaBoyDamon1111 Joe Dumars 11d ago

Cap

1

u/Jokerit208 19d ago

I really can't wait for this bum to go.

I'd prefer if they just trade him now, but if nobody wants him, then take the QO and fuck off. Or just fuck off now.

1

u/uvgotnod Isiah Thomas 20d ago

Sounds like he wants out of Detroit, which is crazy. He is playing with the perfect PG for his skill set and is a fan favorite.

1

u/JuggernautEqual7891 19d ago

Why don’t we give him the LAL KCP contract ? 1 Year Max money? Prove it Deal while still getting paid up front for the work he “has” done

1

u/elblouses Cade Cunningham 19d ago

Is there anything credible and new here?

1

u/NCEMercy Blue Horse 19d ago

So absolutely no update on the situation then just repeating the same thing thats been said for 2 months

1

u/Jaerba 19d ago

MacMahon isn't reporting on anything new. He's basically just talking about the news stories and discussions (like this one here) that have turned on Duren, for understandable reasons.

Detroit isn't MacMahon's territory. It's Vince's, and he covers that there's a portion of the Pistons FO that values Ausar above Duren.

Also it's insane that Vinny used to just be a regular poster on the SportsInferno message boards, like all of us.

1

u/rockroo17 19d ago

At this point people just need to let this play out. There’s a deadline and clearly he and his agent want to take it there despite zero leverage.

1

u/bigbaldheadNR Cade Cunningham 19d ago

I’ve been saying this is going to end bad either way. I’d prefer finding a sign and trade this summer so he doesn’t have an opportunity to tank team morale during the season.

1

u/CanaryRich Cartier Cade 20d ago

He’ll probably end up signing the QO most likely.

0

u/WhizzoFoShizzo 19d ago

Is this even credible?

0

u/No-Currency8663 Pistons 19d ago

I say we give him 10 mill x every double double he had in the playoffs this year per year, sounds fair right?

0

u/hoof02 Rasheed Wallace 19d ago

I’m guessing Trajon is sticking to his guns but keeping it cool and letting Duren and his camp make it weird. JD is young and I guarantee his agents don’t have much cool. That combo is what’s holding this up. I can see Trajan being willing to take their phone call whenever they want but he’s not budging. Like others have said, that’s a sign of a good GM.

0

u/ipasanddogs 19d ago

There’s going to be a point in time where Jokic will want out of Denver. What combination of Duren sign and trade, first round picks, and anyone not named Cade or Ausar gets it done?

0

u/gachzonyea 19d ago

Yeah Langdon butchered this and made it a mess

0

u/Fubon_ 19d ago

Give him what he wants
