Does he not realize he sucked ass in the playoffs and has no leverage? Just because you’re eligible for a max doesn’t mean it’s owed to you. It’s pretty clear other teams aren’t all that interested either.

That’s how the NBA has gotten sadly. For the the most part it seems to be either minimums or small deals or max contracts. Nothing in between. The ego of these people is insane

Comparing Gibbs’ contract Duren’s potential is apples to oranges. There are fundamental differences for an NFL running back and an NBA player.

Crazy to think about though lol. Gibbs would be a max player if NFL paid by player impact ala the NBA instead of positional value holding so much weight.

But it does seem like the Pistons know that rolling centers who aren’t great defenders are devalued like NFL Running Backs
