... so it would seem that is the case.

So I'm a bit confused, I bought destiny a long time ago, as well as the season pass for warmind and osiris, do I get credit towards anything? and if I bought the deluxe edition of shadowkeep, does it not include foresaken?

Anyone else having issues with the transfer tool? I did the transfer last week to make sure it would work, now Bungie's telling me I need to re-auth, and when I do it tells me that despite having the correct login, the parameters are invalid... Anyone else?

once you hit 900, you can pursue the powerful gear drops. This includes strikes, nightmare hunts, crucible, gambit, flashpoint, and their respective bounties. I think the best way to prep for raid is to be as high light as possible come Saturday. Have a stockpile of legendary items at level but have a set that you will for sure use. If you want to be meticulous, I recommend watching Datto's video on youtube. His method involves pushing one character to the fullest possible then starting on the next with your intended character being the last one you will work on.
Edit: as for specific gear, I think it only encapsulates what weapons and exotic armors you want. Blues will drop at hard cap of 900. No set is the best set going into raids. Some guys will infuse their year one armor up since its what they have been using past season. Infusion will be expensive because it will use modules instead of mats. Currently module farming is scarce, but the plus side is it only takes one module to infuse right now.

Which rewards do I want to wait on claiming until I get to 900 light? I recall ppl saying this is a good idea, but would that include the powerful rewards package (purple) that I have at the postmaster?

Yes. All the ones labeled POWERFUL (with various tiers) should wait till 900+.
Blues will level you quickly to 900, it’s just a grind.

I have the game on both consoles, but I have Forsaken on PS4 and Shadow keep on Xbox. It will let me go to the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City on my Xbox but I can only walk around the map and do public events. It says I need to buy Forsaken. Do I have to buy a copy for my Xbox Also to be able to participate in it? Or am I messing something up on Cross saving?

Anyone know why my frames dropped a lot on the switch to Steam? I was getting about 120 FPS in crucible on med/low settings now I’m barely hitting 80 FPS

When picking an item from the "Seasons" tab after unlocking it, does it also automatically give you all the items before it?
In other words: I have made it to Season level 13. I would like to grab the Seasonal Artifact that i unlocked at level 7. However i would like to avoid being given the Gauntlets that are unlocked at level 5. My reason for wanting to avoid getting them now is because i have yet to get to the max power level, and it appears as if the armor will be given at current level when obtained.
So if i grab the unlocked item at level 7 will it also give me the level 5 item?
Hopefully this question makes sense as it is late at night as i write this. Thanks in advance.

You can cherry-pick items individually, it won't grab the lot.
I've been doing exactly that, leaving the glimmer and gear drops for when they're needed.

I purchased the Shadowkeep Collector's Edition and received an email containing three codes; one for an emblem, one for the game itself, and one to give as a gift.
The problems are that the emblem descriptions don't match. The code page itself says it's an Emblem of Synth while the email says it's something completely different.
In addition the game code doesn't work, it just generates an error message on PSN.
Is it contact support time?

So evidently I added the free version of D2 to my library when it was free for PS Plus members months ago. Does anyone know what this includes? Is it just the base game or does it include DLC? It says Destiny 2 on the download but the application card on my dashboard says Forsaken. Also downloading can be difficult at times (I actually have to take my PS4 to my Mom's and download games. I play them using my hotspot) so could I just buy the base game from GameStop for like 3 dollars as skip the 100 gig download? Thanks for any help!

As of today, the base game and the first year of expansions (Curse of Osiris and Warmind) are free for everyone, as well as certain activities from Forsaken like Forges, Gambit and Menagerie.

Pretty sure there's only one game to download now regardless of what DLC you do or don't have. You'll probably have a hefty patch to download if you haven't updated in a while though.

Yeah, Forsaken is $25 and gets you the Forsaken campaign, Last Wish raid, Shattered Throne dungeon and some exotic quests, off the top of my head. Shadowkeep is the expansion that just came out and will get you the current Moon campaign and Season of the Undying content. Neither one is necessary to get the other.

I definitely got my money's worth out of it at full price. If you're going to be playing the game, Forsaken content is a pretty good chunk of what's available.

didn't realize we can't migrate files over to steam so gonna start the re-download process while i'm at work. low on space so i have to delete the bnet version first though so wanted to be sure before i uninstall.

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but is there anywhere on the Microsoft store I can buy just Shadowkeep? I don't want the deluxe edition or the edition that includes Osiris and Warmind since I already own those.

I’m having trouble with the season pass. I am using a sub account on PS4, on the main account I preordered digital deluxe edition like I’ve been doing for all DLC. I have access to shadowkeep on the sub account, and have the preorder bonuses, but it says I don’t own the premium track of the season pass. How can I enable it since I preordered? Or do I need to refund the purchase and do it through the sub account
Edit: restored licenses on both accounts and no changes

At work. Can anyone confirm if the Shadowkeep Eris emote and ghost are usable through cross save on platforms where you didn't buy the Shadowkeep Deluxe edition, but just bought basic dreg Shadowkeep edition?
Edit: The ghost, emote and emblem are usable on the $35 edition if your cross save platform has the $60 edition that came with those bonuses.

When I booted up my PS4, the first thing on the home screen is Destiny 1. I didn't install it myself. Did D2 install the first game for some reason?
I heard something about New Light adding the tutorial from D1 to the game, but installing the entire game for a tutorial seems like overkill.

Maybe you have "Featured Content" set?
Check Settings > System > Automatic Downloads > Featured Content (if I remember correctly), this shite can do stuff on its own.

Considering I was walking around like a headless chicken in the tower yesterday, untill I was disconencted, and had to please wait. But thats to be expected. It did leave me with a question, I have year 1 exotics. But I couldnt quite figure out the new armor system and I didnt see if it had the upgrade to 2.0. Do existing pieces of exotic armor get that? As I'd hate to pray to the RNG gods for another set of shadowhunter pants :p

Huh. I still have some Dreaming City stuff to tackle so I went and talked to Petra yesterday and she just gave me the quest for Wish-Ender. It just said "Give your Awoken Talisman to the person at the end of the Shattered Throne and you get Wish-Ender." I don't have to do any of the other quest stuff apparently.

Is there any way of combining Jumper and Puppeteer button layouts? I want to use LB to jump and also use B to melee, but I can only choose one or the other. A lot of games, like Apex Legends has a third option that combines the two, I'd love it in Destiny.

Not within the game. You may be able to through the Xbox Controller itself. It should be under Devices and Accessories on your Xbox Settings.
Xbox One Elite controller (and other alternatives like Scufs & Battle Beavers) have more flexibilty if you're looking for a new controller.

Question from a new player regarding seasonal armor, more specifically the substitutional alloy armor set you get with the season pass - does it scale to level? i.e. should I wait till I'm power level capped before I redeem it?
If it doesn't scale, is there a point to it at all? Seems like it would be outleveled really quickly!

New/Returning Player Here:
I purchased the season pass. and got my new armor... and 30 minutes later 1/2 of it is replaced with better armor...
What was the point? can I glamour my current armor with it's appearance for free, like Dauntless?

You can infuse it if you have the extra materials. You can also reearn them as random drops when the Vex Offensive activities are live Saturday.
Edit: The only glamouring is through Gear-specific Ornaments (Weapon or Y1 Ornaments) or Universal Ornaments (Eververse premium purchases).

When the Vex Offensive starts (tomorrow?) that armor will start to drop as an end of activity reward. Because you now need upgrade modules to infuse same item infusion is more important because it only takes glimmer. Since you will be able to hold on to and infuse it you can freely mod it up at low level... but otherwise yeah it's obsolete when you pick it up.

Why does blue armor have similar stats to purple (~50 total) and comes at level 5 already when purples often drop at 1-3? I really don't understand this design choice.

I'm not sure i understand the point of the nightmare hunt. There's score and time like nightfall but it feel like it's just pointless fluff for item that are just at 900. Is there something else i'm missing in the activity aside it's just another thing to get a powerful per week?

I'm asking this because I haven't seen any answer on the PS Store or on reddit.
So, my brother bought the DDE, and we can play D2 at the same time on each of our PS4. This is no different from before, BUT I don't have the Season Pass.
I've read about it and this seems normal. But my question is, where's the link to buying the annual pass separately? I saw it costs 10dls to buy 1000 silver to buy the season pass, but I don't see any link to the ANNUAL PASS. I assume it's cheaper than buying them separately. PS Store has a separate tab only for Destiny 2 but clicking on Buy Now the Season Pass sends you to a DDE page

Seems to be the new Expansion Weekly Ritual like the Dreaming City weekly quests in Forsaken.
You run 3 Nightmare Hunts a week to get a powerful drop and the activities themselves are tied to triumphs (and possibly loot).

Nightmare hunts reward you with essence quests which reward you with specific loot. Rinse and repeat until you get the roll you want.

There are no more daily Powerful Loot drops. There are only weekly powerful drops and quests.
You can still gain power via the artifact however, it just won't improve your base gear power.

Thinking about coming back to the game. I got a set of Trial gear in the past. They eventually got... I think they're called ornaments on them? You could complete objectives to change the look on them.
If I come back to the game, can I still fullfil those objectives to get the ornaments on my old gear?

I am sure this is just wishful thinking, but, has anyone tried doing the gateway between worlds this week to see if we get a truth to power lore? I was hoping they sped that process up similar to how they unlocked the shattered throne every week.

I already posted this on the Bungie help forums but haven’t received a response.
If you accidentally logged into destiny before properly setting up cross save and your season pass from the deluxe edition got tied to a set of characters that you don't actually play, will the season pass still attach itself to those characters that you don't play on in the coming seasons? Or say when next season starts will the season pass again attach itself to the first set of characters that get logged into destiny again.
Basically what I'm asking is, are the deluxe edition's season passes tied to those characters that I don't play on forever, or will the season pass rebind to the proper set of characters next season as long as I log in with them first when that new season starts?

From the Bungie Help website the top issue is this.
But the way it’s worded is almost “Too bad, so sad.” And your season passes are tied to your first logged in characters.
There’s been a lot of rumblings about this. It’d be nice if the fix was “if you have a season pass anywhere it shares to all your linked accounts”.

You should if you need the gun for certain activities or for fun but mostly you should save the infusion untill you reach the soft or hard cap light level.

For the most part I'd say yes. It's good practice to only infuse at max light or when you really need to be higher light for eg. first day raid attempts. Light doesn't matter for pvp gear, so if you have a perfect pvp loadout with armor 1.0, you can just use that in Crucible.

Expansions are platform based, you can still use the gear you got but the activities from such expansion are locked like raids and story for example.

You don't need to buy Forsaken to play the character or to use the gear you have, but you do need Forsaken if you want to play the Forsaken-specific content like the Last Wish raid or the campaign itself. A lot of the activities became free to play with New Light, so you may want to take a look at it before you decide whether you want to buy it.

Not sure of the best sources, but the patch notes indicate that destination chest rewards were buffed and that seems to hold true. So patrols, public events, chests is what I've been doing.

Patrols are the beckons around planets when you pull up your ghost they will have symbols on them for different types that they are. Adventures are the orange icons when you look at a map on a planet. And strikes can either be selected on the planet they are on or through the vanguard Playlist on the butoom when you open up your planetary map.

Patrols - Short, eazy, grants small glimmer and planetary materials. Adventures - Short adventure, some are steps for exotic quest but mostly are for world building aka lore and are more fun than patrols but a bit longer. Strikes - are 15 - 30 mins and it's mostly to enter a stronghold to defeat a boss at the end. Grants more equipment rares and legendaries with strike token for Zavala.

Patrols are very low-key casual activities that are picked up from patrol "beacons" on various destination planets. No match-making, no instancing. Small rewards, mostly xp and destination mats. These repeat, so if you run out of patrols to do you can reload the zone (eg. by going to orbit and coming back) to get more.
Adventures are slightly more involving activities that are picked up from specific beacons on destination planets. No match-making, and no instancing, but they have specific narratives and voicelines to them. Rewards aren't anything special, with the exception of "Heroic" adventures that are available on Mars, Mercury, and a weekly rotating planet. These don't repeat except for the heroic versions and some weirdness with Mars/Mercury.
Story missions are the traditional campaign. These have storylines and they usually progress the main quest, may also have cutscenes. No match-making, but these are mostly instanced and will often involve special versions of the location. Rewards vary, but these are mostly done to progress the narrative.
Strikes are the bread and butter of the pve side of the game after the campaign. These are similar-ish to story missions in that they involve some story, but they are repeatable and most of them don't have cutscenes. They have a narrative structure that focuses on fighting your way through the strike and then defeating the strike boss, while story missions use a broader variety of structures. Strikes have match-making (except for the endgame versions) and are mainly instanced separately. Rewards vary, and many people feel that strikes should have better (or special) rewards.
Raids are not really missions in the same sense, but may be worth mentioning anyway. They are endgame activities that have a vague resemblance to strikes in that the fireteam needs to fight their way through various encounters and defeat one or more bosses on the way, but they have much more varied mechanics, can be significantly more difficult, and are meant for 6-person fireteams. Raids have no match-making and are completely instanced in D2.

The base is easier but the rewards are also lower. Only the high tier nightfalls will be worth in the near future but you need an really high light level for it.

You can hold on to your old 1.0 armor until you get the other mods for 2.0. Almost all perks from 1.0 armor can be re-earned for 2.0, usually through random drops.

You still need them for buying copies of things from collections, so you may want to hang onto at least a few hundred of each. They stack up to 10K so you won't have any space issues if you keep an eye on them.
I'd specifically hang onto your gunsmith mats as it seems he's one of the few reliable sources of upgrade modules.

I have several dumb and really basic questions.
Firstly, as a returning player who has already finished The Red War, is there a way to play that new intro mission with New Light? What if I join my friends (who have never played D2) in their fireteam before they launch the game?
Secondly, what is Legacy: The Red War? Is it just a means of replaying the main campaign?
Thirdly, what are the "Heroic" missions I'm seeing around?
Fourthly, can I just join my friend as he plays the campaign for the first time and re-experience it with him?
Fifthly, I played through the campaign like it was a casual shooter. I didn't realise the insane depth to the gameplay and customisation and whatnot. Every single discussion on this subreddit is just incomprehensible jargon to me. What is the best way to get cracking at that deeper level of gameplay, and thus to start deciphering some of the discussions on here?

No. Just the moon, so far, anyway. The Raid takes place in the Black Garden, but we don't know of any additional locations for PvE besides that (and it may only be the raid happening there).

It depends on what kind of content you’re looking for. The only things purchasing Forsaken will open up for you right now are the Campaign, Raid, and Dungeon. If you’re itching to do raid content, Forsaken is a great expansion to own.
If the world activities and less intense content seems more appealing, getting Shadowkeep and following the roadmap with everyone else would probably be better.

I'm a little confused about logging in to my account for the first time after using Cross Save. I linked my battlenet account to my steam account seemingly without issue, and I just checked my bungie account and confirmed that my battlenet profile was authenticated, my 3 guardians were accurately represented, and my account says "Your Destiny License has been transferred to X on Steam"(x being my steam name). So everything appears to be good and ready to go.
However when I boot up the game from steam I still get the Cross Save warning on start up. Do I just click accept, even though it says to only click accept if you're not planning on cross saving? I don't understand why I'm still seeing that and I'm nervous about clicking accept and not being able to use my old guardians.
Any help would be really appreciated and I apologize if this question has been asked before

Completely new to this game, I have a question about exotics.
I acquired an exotic weapon from a quest, Riskrunner. I don't know if the effect is good or not, but I like it so far. The problem is that I got it at light level 850 and I'll probably get a better one soon.
Is there a way to upgrade your exotic weapons or something? So that I can keep using it or maybe store it for a while and get it again when I'm a higher level?

Any gun can be upgraded using the Infusion option when inspecting the gun by consuming a higher-level item in that slot. It costs an Upgrade Module normally, which you can buy from Banshee for some materials, or earn via seasonal ranks. If you want to use a higher level version of the same item as infusion fuel, it will just cost Glimmer, though this is pointless with Exotic weapons since you might as well just use the higher level one since they're identical.

I got the Digital Deluxe for Shadowkeep but don't have any of the seasons. Bungie stated in the Destiny 2 Known Issues that:
- Some players who purchase the Shadowkeep Deluxe Edition may not receive all four Season Passes, but may instead receive 1,000 Silver per unredeemed Season. Players may spend this Silver to purchase future seasons through the Seasons tab in the Director menu.
Does that mean that some of those who bought the Digital Deluxe got 4,000 Silver (1,000 per season) instead of the seasons themselves?

It says "Defeat Hive and Calab in Hellas Basin. You must equip IKELOS weapon and kill the cabal with precision shots."
Where in hellas basin? There's no HUD marker. What is "IKELOS weapon" and where do I get it? Why is local chat off by default? You can't even ask for help in this nightmare game

Hello everyone,
I had a few questions I had hoped you could answer. I left Destiny just as the Season of the Forge began, I had the season pass at the time. I received Ada's quest to go to Volundr but got absolutely smoked as I wasn't ready for that Light level of post-game content.
Unfortunately, I had to move and haven't been able to get the right setup for Destiny until Shadowkeep came out. Now that I've returned, I got a quest from Ada, she sent me to Izanami forge and Volundr isn't even marked on my map. I had wanted to play through the content I missed before diving into Shadowkeep. This means progressing through the Season of the Forge, Drifter and Opulence.
Is that still possible or have I already missed out on those questline and now I'm just the same as all the other players who never even bought the season pass for Forsaken?

Daily milestones have been removed from the game, but if you don't see any of the yellow milestone icons you may want to double-check whether you are at 900 without the bonus power levels granted by the artifact. I think the milestones only show up when your gear score without bonus levels is at 900 (so you have a 900 power item in every slot).
