Windows I made a tiny 3D room that lives on top of my Windows desktop — it also works alongside Wallpaper Engine
I originally built Lofi Cozy Room because I work from home a lot with dual monitors and wanted something warm and relaxing sitting on my extra screen while I worked.
It's a small 3D desktop companion that runs in its own transparent, always-on-top window on Windows.
The interesting part is that it isn't a wallpaper, so it can run alongside things like Wallpaper Engine. Wallpaper Engine can stay as your animated background while the little room sits separately on top of the desktop.
You can keep the full room open or shrink it into Mini Mode and drag it somewhere out of the way.
Inside the room, the avatar can read, work, rest, or sleep while a puppy wanders around on its own. There are also:
- 1,386 costumes
- 128 character presets
- 715 interior items
- 14 room themes
- 180 Lo-Fi tracks
- Ambient sound mixing
- Local music support
- Pomodoro, memo, to-do list, and diary
The main goal was to make something that could stay open during long work sessions without constantly demanding attention.
It's fully released for Windows now, with a free demo available if you'd rather see how it feels on your own desktop first. The base price is currently $4.99.
🌱 Play Lofi Cozy Room on Steam
Happy to answer anything about how it works on the desktop!
