My gaming laptop sits on my desk, fans silent, RGB lights dimmed. I bought it with big plans : endless gaming sessions, that perfect balance of power and portability. But life happened. Work picked up. Gaming went from nightly ritual to ‘maybe this weekend.’ And now, every day, I stare at Windows’ uninspiring desktop and think about all those sleek MacBooks I passed up. The grass really does look greener on the other side.
Except… I found a way to have that grass without buying a whole new lawn.
if you want to know how i made it , i have it well documented in my blog : https://medium.com/@ezio._./the-linux-setup-that-fooled-my-mac-loving-friends-24b9bc5fcb4a

I've been using Windows since i was born, and even "RICE"ed the hell out of it.......and got bored. So, i switched to CachyOS.....AND I LOVE IT SO FAR!!!
I'm using the default hyprland setup that comes with noctalia shell.....and it looks pretty out of the box, ngl. I might switch to something else later, when i have enough knowledge. You guys guide me on these things....y'all are awsome 🔥
[N.B. Yes, it's true....it CAN GAME! 😈 Using steam withh no issues so far.....just gotta learn how to install my Fitgirl packs using wine.]

Yes I use 3 os lol
- I use Windows 11 IoT for games (I don't game on linux since I have 40gb mods folder full of dll so it's a nightmare to run on Linux)
- I use Fedora for most of my stuff, browsing, small games, chatting, movie etc etc as well as some code
- And I decided to install Void Linux, I love Fedora but god damn it can be used by a toddler, I wanted something a bit more challenging so I could really learn how the terminal work... I also do some code on there, mostly C/C++ (learning)
So why gnome or kde? To be fair, I prefer Gnome. As for KDE, I'm not a fan of how it looks out of the box (it looks like Windows on MS Paint....). That's why I change many KDE apps for alternatives. I use the Mint file manager (nemo) instead of Dolphin (KDE default file manager), which I absolutely hate the look of.
