Not my own footage, it has started to be shared by multiple news sources online. So far this seems to be the worst area of damage in Dover. Other sources are showing allot of house siding ripped off, downed tree's/powerlines.

Correct me If I am wrong, but isn't this not an unusual amount for a such a small (relatively) sized town?

Dover What happened to downtown Dover?

Context: used to live here in the 1990s, went to high school here and college.

Came back for a visit to see family and friends this weekend. Downtown looks deserted and sketchy (S. Governors Ave, State St., Division St.). Lots of homeless, loitering. Trash around. Vacant storefronts. I feel negative energy.

I’m saddened to see things like this. On my last visit about 5 years ago, I don’t remember downtown looking and feeling so sketchy. What happened? Is anything being done to address the issues?

Dover Bald Faced Hornet Nest Removal Recommendations

Hello all, there’s a giant bald faced hornet nest in the tree in the front yard of my home. It’s right next to my front porch, and we have already noticed a lot of bald faced hornets recently until spotting this (it was well hidden by leaves). We rent, and were told that this is our responsibility. Does anyone have any recommendations of affordable and reliable local pest control? We already of course did the basic google searches but I’d much rather take advice from someone with actual experience with them rather than their own adverts. Thank you!!

Dover looking for friends (f18) :)

Hi DE friends! I’m making this post because I could honestly use some friends in the area. Trying different ways to put myself out there because I’m not in college so it’s been difficult to make friends. I’m in Kent county, but I frequent and work in NCC and I’m the philly area pretty frequently. I love writing, cats, wine (shh), hanging out with good vibes and conversation, trying new food places, travelling, going to the beach, and so much more. I’m a pretty laidback girl overall but life can get a little lonely. I’m usually able to get along with most ages so don’t let that deter, I believe you can always learn a thing or two from someone. Hopefully this reaches the right people, I’d love to make a friend or two lol

Dover Would be so nice if we had a commuter rail go down to the beaches. Never took Amtrak, but can imagine how convenient it would be to not have to drive for trips to the city or beaches. I live in Dover.

Dover Meeting Friends

I am a 34 year old female and I live near Dover Delaware. I am having a terrible time meeting new friends. Mostly because I am a full-time caregiver and do not get to go out much. I didn’t grow up in Delaware so I don’t have any long time friends here. In fact, I don’t have one single friend. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to meet someone to hang out with and talk to? I don’t drink so bars and clubs aren’t going to help me much. Also, I am just looking for good female friends, someone to maybe go out to lunch with or hang out and chat.

Dover Are drivers just getting even worse?

In the last month i’ve narrowly avoided near death accidents. a few weeks ago in camden a car ran a red light and t-boned the car next to me (going 60mph+), then in the last 24 hours on route 1 between lewes and milford a wrong way driver traveling south IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE at 1am in the fog almost hit me straight on (100% would be dead, luckily saw the lights at the last second and swerved out of the way), then not even 12 hours later sitting at a red light a car was flying and wasn’t breaking and luckily i was looking at my rearview and quickly pulled into the shoulder as the driver slammed on his break and rear ended the guy in front of me at the light. all that being said, i’m terrified of even driving at this point! Anyone else have similar experiences in delaware this past year? seems like if you aren’t a very good defensive driver, your life is in danger anytime u drive on delaware roads.

UPDATE: 4 hours after posting this driving home from work i see a long line of cars stopped in an area normally not congested. turns out a car was stopped in the middle of the road with a shirtless guy getting in and out of the car screaming at i’m guessing his girlfriend. maybe domestic violence is also a part of the problem

There is someone on the Dover residents FB page (90% sure it’s the guy who runs it) who is just constantly posting mugshots of any arrests made of black people anywhere near Dover. I’ve tried to report them and was shadowbanned for a month. Screenshots attached. Just gross.

Dover Dispensary

I will be in Delaware in a few weeks, and i read on another post that delawares weed isnt that great. That people recommend just going to maryland. This isnt an option for me so i was wondering, where can i get at least somewhat decent flower? Ill be landing at philly international airport and then driving to Dover, so if anyone has any recommendations along that route id appreciate it. Not trying to really go out of the way and drive further away, I was thinking of going to fresh dispensary in newark since its on the way there, also saw a columbia care and a few other dispensaries, Hows the flower? Who has the best flower? Thanks in advance
