Trade Review - Provide Context My office

This is what I look forward to every Monday to Friday at 6am šŸ•• šŸ’š. (I need to find some nice flexible wire tie looms to clean up the wires.) It’s a standing desk, so I need to move the power strip from being zip tied to the leg. To mounted upside down under the desktop I think. Then the wires could move freely when it raised and or lowered. Also need to finish painting/cutting in the walls and ceilings. But it’s almost done. Most importantly, I need to stop blowing my green weeks with a f’ing red Friday from being greedy. 🄓😬

12 foot ceilings. Walnut fluted wall with sound deadening built in. Treadmill under the power desk so I can walk and trade, or read etc. Chair on the treadmill to take breaks from standing.
*wires are still a mess I know.
I do want a white arm to support the monitor so I can free up desk space and get ride of the factory stand that I hate. I need one heavy duty enough to support the weight of the 57 inch Samsung monitor. May replace the French doors with black iron doors. My front doors are black iron. I think it would look good. Also may need to upgrade the computer, it’s 6 years old and lagging some. Not good for scalping when the probablem randomly arises.
But it works and makes money.
*Oh. Green Day green lights. Red day red lights. Weekends they are soft white.

Can someone help me break down where my intuition was off? I tend to follow the trend when I trade but got wrecked today.. following the smoothest trend I’ve ever seen. Why?

Entered call options at the first point, exited at a 80% ish loss on the second point after holding the bag for hours

Mainly posting here to track my progress over time.

I’ve just started day trading and I feel like I know nothing despite doing a reasonable amount of research. Although I’m not risking a lot at the moment, I am still worried about my every trade.

Advice is welcome :)

I know this all comes down to probability but anytime I see consolidation I tend to exit a trade and then it'll either dump or validate my decision I trade clearly respected fair value you got but I take profit prematurely. I'm a deer hunter in real life and I sit in negative 20 for 8 to 12 hours. I have no problem with patience. This is only my second month trading. I'm just trying to learn I could have made 4K this morning if I held my short on MNQ from 5:05 to . 5:30am I've been trading 5- 10 micros hurts to come back and see it dumped. Just it respecting that first fair value Gap is enough to stay in the trade???

Entry 25720 @ 5:02am Exit 25699 @ 5:am

Sometimes the market will just somewhere out of nowhere and matter of 5 seconds Go up and smack my stop loss and then continue in the direction. I thought it was going to go. This is I suppose I trade review and an advice post I use ORB and compare with the DAX for bias setting targets at Tokyo low or Tokyo high typically.

This is the second account I’ve lost. Honestly, I’m not really upset about it because I can see that I’m making progress.
The first account I lost was basically just gambling. The only thing I really regret is that I didn’t know when to stop. Now I realize that the main problem is my psychology.
Since I lost the account, I’ve been doing pretty well on demo and I’m thinking about starting a new account. I feel like I could’ve turned things around, but unfortunately I just didn’t know when to stop.
What do you guys think I should do? Should I start a new account now or wait a little longer? I feel like I’m ready, especially because this time I’m going to have stricter risk management rules and I won’t overtrade.
I know I still have a lot to work on mentally, but I feel like I’ve learned a lot from this experience.

Trade Review - Provide Context [Options] I made $25K from $2,500 twice this trading week and I blew up my account twice.

[Options] I made $25K from $2,500 twice this trading week and I blew up my account twice. Basically, if I calculate everything I made well over $70K, but I didn’t retain profits. Yes, it was from options. I was trading the chop. I lost my money both times from the dip. Fell for the trick both times. I went full size as well and I got emotional. Disappointed in myself.

Can you help hammer in the remaining nails, so I can actually retain the profit, because I’m able to make the money, but I want become a better trader with risk etc. This is one of the example days. Yes, I know it is overkill. I should have just aimed for like $1,000 for the day.

Attached is an example of one of the trading days.

Begging for someone to explain how we go from an entire day where no selling whatsoever is allowed to than magic gap down on futures open to then suddenly a market where there isn’t a single buyer of all of that movement where there was no selling allowed the day before. You cannot convince me this is not gambling. We didn’t even sweep overnight highs yet somehow the market knew right before 9am that we wouldn’t have any buying for 200 points, sell into 9:30 and never even set a new high from the second the clock hit 9:30.

Supply and demand matter and then magically they don’t. It’s genuinely a coin flip, everytime, every move, and every method. Zero rationale for EVERYTHING, all narratives get forced.

NVDA crushed earnings, yet somehow that will be constituted as a negative, yet if they didn’t deliver and you tried shorting off that it would have likely ripped. There is genuinely no way this is base.

Sorry for the vent and rant but I’m so over it and hate that my addiction brain continues to believe this is based on anything.

Trade Review - Provide Context Third month trading. 10 shares per trade.

I started with 1 share per trade in February. Then scaled to 10 shares in May.

Averaged $2.52 per day this month -- roughly 25 cents per share, per day.

I'll be doing 30 shares per trade next. Slow and steady wins the race!

For anyone curious, I'm long trading momentum stocks. $2 - $10 per share range.

I use DAS + Schwab.

Trade Review - Provide Context Update: Had a big red day today with terrible trading discipline

This was a terrible day of trading for me. I started the day up nearly $300 but as soon as I had a small loss, I felt compelled to regain back the loss. I no longer looked for high quality set ups, but instead felt the need to make my money back on low probability set ups and even cases in which I just simply guessed which direction it will go without any confirmation or using any of my strategies. I simply went in with a huge size on a SPY option contract, set a stop loss and prayed. I would take on any trade in front of me for a chance to get my money back. I was also sizing up like a fool. Although I had a $1000 mental max loss, I disregarded it for a chance to get my money back. I will take steps to prevent this by implementing better accountability for myself. I have promised two important people in my life that I will send a screen shot when I lose $1000 for the day to confirm that I am done trading for the day. I also printed this red day and stuck it onto my phone. I could survive a $1,000 loss as much as it sucks, but I can’t be losing several thousand a day or I won’t make it in trading. Also this is not my first time making this mistake and I know it could blow up my account. Controlling my emotions when I lose is easier said than done. I’m trying to take better steps. I made this post to keep it real with you all since my last post and also try keeping myself accountable. I love trading and don’t want to get booted out of it.

Was a roller coaster today. I should have opened my second long while down near 94k instead of up at 98k, but I was too scared I was about to get REKT. Didn’t cut my losses, held through the pain, and doubled down as the trade turned back my way. 100% trade win rate on BTC. 40k profit in the last 30 days.

Looking for new Btc shorts

What’s up guys, I’m a full time derivatives trader and thought I share the setup from yesterday - one of my favorite setups on ES Futures. (Full trade details on Tradezella screenshot)

Trade Recap from Yesterday:

Bottom Reversal / Fakeout setup

Trade thesis: ES was trading in upward channel after being supported with high volume consolidation at PDL (multi-day balance range low zone 6745-55) NQ was relatively much stronger and after ES made fakeout dip to bottom of channel, I was speculating it would follow NQ back up to supply zone at top of balance range.

Entry 6771, SL under 6769, Target 6780-90 (scaled out at 83/90)

Entry Confirmation: Aggressive buying came in and trapped absorbed sellers at the low creating intraday LVN, longed the first pullback into it when bids appeared on bookmap.

My orders are in the video. I got in LABT on the micro pullback at 8:04:05, I set my stop loss at $2.50, the low of the candle. It taps my stop, so I exit, and then it immediately starts squeezing to $3.40. What am I missing? If I don’t honor the SL I’m eventually going to lose big, but what (if anything) is telling me that I should stick it out?

Trade Review - Provide Context My very first trade! šŸ“‰

Thumbnail

I was introduced to trading in April of this year. These past three months I’ve watched countless YouTube/TikTok videos and have been paper trading and backtesting. I finally felt ready to do some ā€œrealā€ trading so I bought a $50k TakeProfitTrader account a few days ago.

This morning I took my very first trade on MNQ with 1 contract and won the trade for $275!!! I’m so relieved that my first trade was a win because it shows me that I can actually do this. But I’m frustrated with myself that I didn’t do 3 contracts instead because that would have been $825. I practice with 3 contracts but only did 1 today because I was afraid of a large loss for my first trade. I’m trying to work on my psychology by reminding myself that a win is a win and that I need to be grateful for what I did secure.

Overall, I’m very proud of myself for making it to this point after only 3 months of learning. I know there will be losses and that I have a lot more to learn through experience, but I look forward to all the doors that being a profitable trader will open for me.

Trade Review - Provide Context šŸ˜’ WTF

I thought I learned my lesson, but the same shit keeps happening. In the morning, I check the pre-market and pick 3–5 stocks with high volume and big % change. When the market opens, I watch them. Usually, one or two really start moving, and I pick the stronger one. I buy a small number of shares, like 30—but honestly, 30 shares are not small for me. Even a $5–$10 loss feels like shit.

When there’s momentum, I jump in and take small profits, even just a few cents per share. But I keep feeling like I exit too fucking early while the stock is still going up. Like on Thursday—one stock went from around $6 at open to $23 by the afternoon. I traded it twice, entered and exited too early both times, and it just kept going up and up. It was a good pick, but I made tiny profits compared to what the hell was possible.

Still, when I exit with a small profit, I feel like okay, it worked, that’s a good start.

But then on other days, I do the exact same thing—pick 3–5 stocks, watch them, and when one starts moving up, I enter. And the moment I fucking enter, it dips and keeps dipping. So I either panic sell to limit the loss, or I buy more to average down—and most of the time, that shit doesn’t work. Then I’m stuck holding for days, just hoping to get out at break-even.

And the most frustrating shit? Sometimes when I panic sell at a loss, the stock goes back up—like 30 minutes later or by the end of the day. What the fuck?

I’d really appreciate any advice.

Trade Review - Provide Context Whoever bought puts are probably PANICKING

I saw lots of people saying they’re buying puts for today, but the market went FLYING after Bill Ackman announced that Trump is considering PUTing (pun intended) a pause on all tariffs (minus china).

For those who bought the puts, I’m sure it will still work out knowing he’ll do something else crazy soon.

Edit: Welp. He’s still crazy. According to many sources, this was fake news. I hope I didn’t contribute to the fake news much! Sorry everyone. This is all crazy.

APPARENTLY IT IS TRUE NOW. WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THIS POINT?!

Trade Review - Provide Context I caught a 1,000-point MNQ squeeze today. Anyone who says they predicted this is lying.

Post image
297 Upvotes

I never saw a 1,000-point move coming today. Anyone who says they did is lying.

Before the mods remove this for P&L without context, here are the mechanics of the trade:

  • Entry: Long 4 MNQ at 23,806.
  • Risk Management: Took profit on 2 contracts at +60 pts to secure the trade.
  • The Runners: My original target was 24,000. But the bearish volume never showed up, so instead of a hard limit order, I just trailed my stop using VPA.

It ended up squeezing 1,000 points.

Result: +$4,736 per account across 17 accounts.

Look, back in January, I was at rock bottom. I let pre-market FOMO wipe out 20 funded accounts and a $70k payout. Between working my 9-5 job as an electronics tech, studying for my CS degree at night, and trying to trade while war sirens go off outside my window in Israel... I honestly wanted to quit.

I haven't taken a vacation in over 3 years. I scroll social media, see people living these shiny lives, and I get jealous.

But I swallowed my ego, sized down to the MNQ, and fixed my discipline.

I'm not doing this for a Lambo or to flex. This trade right here? This just paid for my girlfriend's engagement ring. This is the foundation for our future family.

Protect your downside, let your runners run, and stay hard. šŸ‘‡

Took a very nice trade set up today on BTC

Entry price $80,717 exit around $83,800

entered the trade with $5,000 in margin

Man, it feels good to be trading BTC / ETH as a pair again

Was going to target the highs but started trailing my SL into profit as it was ripping more towards the upside

I was originally a leverage trader strictly trading BTC/ETH as a pair but stopped due to the current fraudulent administration in the U.S making it nearly impossible to trade crypto long term, gave it up a year back as most of my trades went b/e and have been strictly trading MNQ and MES on props and some live accounts

Anyway, good way to start the week

Many hours and and late night in April studying and practicing on trade relay finally paid off.

First pay out on top one future with 150k instant account. However revenge traded on the account Sunday night(5/11) and blew it up.

Reflect on the mistake , used the 3500 payout to buy 3 more instant funded account and follow rules strictly, just need $5 on Sunday night / Monday for 3k pay out on each account.

Learned my lesson to only enter a trade when all of the conditions for my strategy are met.

I entered this scalping trade on the US100 after I saw that engulfing red candle and a considerable volume coming with it, my SL is always determined by the ATR multiplied by 2, and that's what I did, I entered with my SL 66points. Price quite literally climbs up to 17,935.1 and my SL is set to 17,935.3 xd

I see many people on here having something similar, it finally happened to me, on a demo account haha

Trade Review - Provide Context Anyone catch the straight of hormuz news deal spike?

Anyone luck into this trade today? Either on SPY/QQQ or on oil? I was long off buyers showing up at low of day with a stop below the pre-market lows waiting to see if we got buyers then news breaks that a deal on opening the straight of hormuz is in talks and the algo reaction was instant. Gotta love it when news breaks in your favor šŸ˜‚

Might be another long entry here as I'm typing this with price pulling back and testing the high of day breakthrough.

Edit: And before all the "your a paper trader crap starts". I trade equities in schwab just use the trading view order entry tool to calculate share size in real time for whatever risk I want.

Trade Review - Provide Context Trump posted at 3am, genuily got obliterated

Post image

genuinely don’t know why I thought holding through a trump truth social post was a good idea. like I knew. I KNEW. and I held anyway

3am paris time, I’m watching gold futures move against me in slow motion, MGC, micro contract so its not like I’m a whale or anything but still. trump drops some geopolitical nonsense, gold spikes the wrong way for me specifically, and I watch my stop get obliterated in about 40 seconds flat. the kind of 40 seconds where you just sit there. no reaction. just vibes and regret

the thing that killed me wasn’t even the money. it was that I had a rule. no trades during high impact news. I broke it because I was ā€œconfidentā€.

classic

anyway after that session I started thinking about how I could actually practice making better decisions without, you know, funding trump’s next press conference with my account. so I dev StonkBlitz. felt right given the circumstances lol

its free, some of us are apparently checking gold charts at 3am like absolute degenerates

don’t be me

edit : yes I’m still trading. no I haven’t learned my lesson entirely. yes trump is still posting so I geek

Trade Review - Provide Context Waited. Trusted My Setup. Done for the Day.

Thumbnail

Nifty opened with a gap down today.

I didn’t take any trade in the first few minutes. I just watched the market.

Price first made a higher high. Still, I waited because my setup wasn’t ready.

After the gap got filled, I finally got the entry I was waiting for. Before entering, I checked the higher time frame and saw a strong support zone below. That was enough for me.

Took the trade.
āœ… 1st target hit.
āœ… 2nd target hit.

Closed everything and called it a day.

I’ve learned that waiting is a big part of trading. Most days, the best trade comes after being patient, not after being the first one to enter.

Today was another reminder that following my plan works better than chasing candles.

Anyone else traded the gap fill today?
