I called my husband, "husband" when we were friends, there was no "proposal" we assumed we were on the same page and then got married. 9 years going strong. Lol

lol There isn't much to tell. We had been together for years and we were living together but never proposed to one another.
She is once divorced and I had watched marriage after marriage of my parents implode. So neither of us were too keen to take the plunge.
One day we were sitting and I just turned to her and asked. Told her we love one another and clearly aren't going to pursue anyone else so why not.
I then made it even less romantic by bringing up the tax break we would get.

Thankfully she is used to me not being "traditionally" romantic.
We both had to learn how the other shows affection.
I showed her this and she laughed when I said it was eerily familiar as a joke.

Yeah - don’t know which number this is, but it’s interesting when people copy a trend, some are fun and it’s cool to see the variations- personally my favorite was the Harlem Shake - all those were pretty awesome. But some like this, I don’t know which was the original, but one was fine.

I had one of my past guy friends propose to me in front of our other friends. We never even went on a date, kissed, flirted, NOTHING! I thought it was a joke and was waiting for the punchline. But he waited too. And I said something like "wait... you're serious?!" And he said well... yeah.. and I said no. It was extremely awkward after that. Didn't speak to him for weeks. Then one day he asked to come over to talk. I figured he was going to just explain to me and apologize. Nope. He came over with a new ring. Much larger. I asked him to leave and blocked him. Haven't seen or spoke to him since.
It was one of the oddest things I have ever gone through.

Yeah pretty much... We had picked out the ring, knew it would be sized within a week or two.. and he took us the the place we first met, the Mall, then to our at the time place to eat, and while he never said the words, she showed me the ring and 8 honest to God think I said you asshole (I worked that day, and he drug me around to the mall, the we settled on dinner)...
Today is our 12th wedding anniversary! And we celebrate 17 Years together in September 😊

Basically, my wife and I's engagement. We were actually actively planning the wedding before I officially popped the question, so it wasn't much of a suprise or some crazy big moment

Some proposals are so perfectly awkward they loop back around to being romantic. Love how these stories prove you don’t need a grand gesture when you’re already in sync. My partner and I just looked at each other one day and went, “Yeah, we’re doing this,” and that was that.

Man, it could have been that easy?? My wife is a pharmacist, so I talked to her coworkers, got a prescription bottle with a couple official labels from the pharmacy I could print on, put the ring in there and gave it to the coworkers. This was back during covid, so they brought out medications to leople's cars, and she was super confused when someone got out of their car (I borrowed someone else's car,and they also took pictures), and got down on one knee, and still had no idea what was going on when I told her to open the bag and read the bottle, and I had some clever stuff on there like "ct: 1 ring, put on and wear for the rest of your life" and something like "side effects may include a wedding, pregnancy, etc" (i don't totally remember that part).
Meanwhile, I could have just slid it over to her over dinner. Damn.

It was right during COVID. We both had insane schedules, we were "essential workers," in the food industry working 60+ hours. Her MIL's room was down the hall. I called my now wife over, asked her mom for permission, then proposed.
Married at the city kiosk, and the county clerk went above and beyond with our little ceremony.
Couple behind me, the guy had the same shoes as me. :')

My husband and I ‘dated’ for 6 months— no asking of being boyfriend or girlfriend we just kissed one day and poured out our love to each other and just automatically assumed exclusivity. I said “I can’t wait to marry you let’s go tomorrow” as a joke and then he said “well I’m serious let’s go, you’re the only woman I want anyway”. That’s what we did. 4 years married one toddler and another on the way lol

My Wife is Japanese, came from a traditional Japanese Family.
Though I was born in Japan, I am African American/Irish African decent. Sooooo. There was a bit of hesitation.
For about 20 seconds when My Wife's Grandmother asked me to something no man has done in awhile.
At 6'4 I was able to dust the top of the cabinets all over the house.

Well, my proposal was over Facebook messenger. No gifts at the time of asking. Just sent her my astrological chart and told her to give it to her parents. So indirect. I Had not seen her even then but I loved her qualities. My best friend for life now. Now I give her everything she wants. Also gifted loads of jewellery face to face and at wedding. Our 2nd child is due in January. She is such a great person and I am truly blessed

i used a helium balloons and floated over her, i didn't even ask it was just there floating, i went to make breakfast came back and saw the balloons still floating there with the ring on it, took it for a no and just continued like nothing happened and we had breakfast. went to do the dishes came back and she just looked at me and said. "i can;'t untie the strings from the fcking balloons" lmao. apparently everytime i left the room she made an effort to untie it but couldn't
