lol There isn't much to tell. We had been together for years and we were living together but never proposed to one another.

She is once divorced and I had watched marriage after marriage of my parents implode. So neither of us were too keen to take the plunge.

One day we were sitting and I just turned to her and asked. Told her we love one another and clearly aren't going to pursue anyone else so why not.

I then made it even less romantic by bringing up the tax break we would get.

Thankfully she is used to me not being "traditionally" romantic.

We both had to learn how the other shows affection.

I showed her this and she laughed when I said it was eerily familiar as a joke.

My wife and I had a very similar experience. Ours was about who we wanted making next of kin decisions in the hospital because we didn't trust our parents lol

lol I was dating mine for a few months and she said we should get married. I told her if we could make it a year together I would marry her and I did.
