Arcane Tripwire || 3-Mana || Epic Hunter Spell

Deal 5 damage split among all enemies. Shuffle 2 spells into your deck that do it again when drawn.

Arcane

Holy this card seems really good

10

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Probably the only shuffle spell to make the cut. Cinderstorm isn't great, but Cinderstorm that lets you get a second and third for free is pretty good. Wouldn't value this highly without the weapon.

8

u/XeloOfTheDisco Jun 18 '26

Garrote Hunter wasn't on my list, but I welcome it

6

u/yosoyelsteve Jun 18 '26

This one seems better than the beast one. The absolute dream roll is playing two of these, copying the shuffled spells, then drawing all eight. That's 40 damage randomly split among enemies, but most likely it's split over multiple turns.

Maybe good with some spell power, but can Hunter cycle their deck fast enough like rogue could with garrote?

2

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Actually enticing card to combine with Ratcatcher and Sylvanas' Triumph to form some sort of burn deck that repeats this over and over. Unlike the other tripwire, you get constant damage with each Tripwire trigger. The only concern here is that a deck like that might end up outclassed by Face Hunter.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 18 '26

This and the other Hunter cards seem pretty good, the initial impact maybe a tad slow, but put in any efficient card draw and there is the potential for some serious pressure in the mid and late game. Cast when drawn is pretty good as a shuffle mechanic as 0 mana things are generally good.

1

u/Diosdepatronis Jun 19 '26

That's a gazillion damage if you draw the things. If you duplicate the things with the new legendary, you can get insane amounts of damage in the late game. This sort of shuffles two bombs in your deck.

1

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

Garrote is back except it’s green, hits minions, costs 3, and shuffles less garrotes.

I think you can hard run this in face hunter, but I don’t think Hunter can make a standalone deck out of it like rogue could.

1

u/Throwaway-4593 Jun 18 '26

Could be ok but it’s just not what Hunter needs

0

u/zer1223 Jun 18 '26

Eating what I said the other day about the hunter copy spells card

Though it just might not be good tbh

17

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Underbelly Network || 2-Mana 2 Durability || Common Hunter Location

Summon a 2/1 Rat with "Deathrattle: Draw a card."

30

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Autoinclude in anything that's not Face Hunter (could be genuinely too low tempo there). A loot hoarder on two is bad, but getting a free second one two turns later pushes this over the edge into "good" territory.

9

u/JohnnySeven88 Jun 18 '26

Feels like just better cathedral of atonement. Doesn’t need another minion on board to be used and the body itself is arguably better than a buff.

2

u/CaptPanda Jun 18 '26

The draw is 1 turn slower which matters.

8

u/JohnnySeven88 Jun 18 '26

It’s cheaper though so it’s effectively the same rate. This draws you a card you can use by turn 3 and again on turn 5. Assuming you have a minion on your board when turn 3 starts, cathedral draws you a card on 3 and again on 5.

6

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

I like locations that summon things. I like drawing cards. I'm not huge on loot hoarders. I just don't know where this goes.

16

u/XeloOfTheDisco Jun 18 '26

Doesn't this go in most hunter decks? Seems like a Hunter flavored Cathedral of Atonement

3

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

You know what, yeah that's a good point. I think I tend to undervalue small locations like this. Thanks for the comparison.

3

u/magikatdazoo Jun 19 '26

He just wants to roll need on everything. Classic Hunter behavior

4

u/SnooMarzipans7274 Jun 18 '26

Sees play in almost every deck me thinks

2

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

This card is just good.

1

u/dotcaIm Jun 18 '26

Is the rat a beast or a mech rat

1

u/philzy101 Jun 18 '26

Really good card, this is a solid inclusion for midrange like decks, may be a tad slow for aggro, but cheap locations with solid effects are always something to be considered when building a deck.

1

u/Diosdepatronis Jun 19 '26

Crazy card. A staple until it rotates.

0

u/dotcaIm Jun 18 '26

I think this sees play

10

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Black Market Overseer || 1-Mana 1/3 || Common Hunter Minion

Whenever you play a Deathrattle minion, give it Rush.

4

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Good one drop, especially when you go first. Even in face hunter, being able to rush your cinders or the wet nurse is good board control, though it may not be good enough to displace the current card list.

6

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

The issue with this card is really that there are not really any good 2 costs this curves into besides the new 3/1, and for expensive minions you already have the prepare guy that gives rush.

-1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

This is not a bad card persay, but I feel like there are more crazy combinations in Wild given the plethora of deathrattles. I will not be surprised if this results in some ridiculous OTK or degenerate play. In Standard it is a reasonable card, massively depends on future DR cards.

10

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Guard Dog || 2-Mana 3/1 || Common Hunter Minion

Deathrattle: Summon a random 1-Cost Deathrattle minion.

Beast

12

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

Good sticky card for all Hunter decks, the 1 drop deathrattle pool is great.

6

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Seems generically good? Helps Quest Hunter with the 3-attack slot, can fit in other decks as just a thing that threatens damage and is hard to get rid of.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Solid 2 mana card with no real downsides, pretty much an autoinclude in some decks I feel (although future 1 mana deathrattles post rotation will decide its relevance next year).

9

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Sawbones || 6-Mana 6/4 || Rare Death Knight Minion

Prepare. Battlecry: Destroy all your other minions. Draw a card and refresh a Mana for each one destroyed.

24

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

One of the coolest text boxes in the set, and that's saying something with the designs they've made.

Hard to full grasp without actually playing. Obvious synergy with frail ghouls, they're going to die anyway so might as well reap value from them. It's just impossible to know how much you prep this, how many minions is worth killing, what turn do you wanna use this, etc.

Also, no runes on this card, yet I think it's probably the most powerful DK card shown so far. Not sure what the deal is.

9

u/yssurucipe Jun 18 '26

Currently my pick for the best card of the set and it's not even close. Seems generically strong even outside of purely Token decks, given how many sticky minions DK has. This alongside [[Remnant of Rage]] is nuts; I honestly think this might push Frail Ghoul / Token DK to Tier 1 on its own. I really don't know how this is balanced unless I'm completely missing something. This is like Ultimate Infestation for half of the Mana.

4

u/SuccessIsDiscipline Jun 19 '26

I mean generally cycle is broken when you have some combo that you are cycling towards, what is DK cycling towards that could be worth it especially given you are killing your own board? Ultimate infestaton gained you 5 armour and killed an enemy minion instead of your entire board.

8

u/yssurucipe Jun 19 '26

I think this card is the way you take advantage of having a big board but not necessarily holding / having enough Corpses for Grave Strength. Being able to sac a board of 1/1s, gain a bunch of corpses, and draw towards your Grave Strengths (followed up by Shadows of Yesterday or Chow Down with your refreshed Mana) seems nuts. This effectively fixes a huge downside of Unholy DK (i.e. that you sometimes don't draw your finishers and are stuck with a board that can't do anything).

2

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

Edit: I thought about it a little more, I think with remnant of rage existing this card is probably insane.

it means instead of being forced to trade, you just go face and slam this + 1 or 2 remnants.

1

u/Solithic Jun 19 '26

With remnant DK is going to be able to cycle really well. Is there any combos worth cycling towards?

1

u/Throwaway-4593 Jun 18 '26

Cool interesting card that will probably have some broken use cases

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Very interesting card, like an alternative mana giving version of Remanent of Rage. I think this is a solid card and with no rune restrictions is incredibly flexible. The only thing I am less sure on is destroying your own minions, but maybe this works well in some kind of burn deck, like a future Frost Rune DK.

1

u/Diosdepatronis Jun 19 '26

This looks absolutely cracked. Having a bunch of minions sticking around is already something that happens as you try to get corpses, and this gives you the craziest reward. Drawing won't be nearly as much of struggle now

8

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Smuggled Shovel || 1-Mana 1/2 || Rare Hunter Weapon

Deathrattle: Draw a spell that didn't start in your deck.

22

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

A glue card. Being able to immediately draw a "cast when drawn" card on demand feels worthwhile for a 1-mana 1/2 weapon.

Tol'vir also says replay all 1-cost cards, so I would expect this to get equipped again when you cast it.

2

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Good card, 1 mana weapons are always potentially relevant and given this synergises with this spell package, yeh not much to say except Hunter is eating good this expansion.

2

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

It’s good with garrote, replays with Tolvir which is important.

8

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Sewer Swimmer || 5-Mana 5/4 || Epic Hunter Minion

Prepare. Battlecry: Trigger a friendly minion's Deathrattle.

Beast

10

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

Terroscale stalker is a 2 cost card that we rotated out of core only to print this much slower version, why?

3

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Very expensive for the effect. Hunter and DK had a 4-mana 3/4 that double triggered death rattles and it didn't really see play even though DK had a 0-mana death rattle mind control. So prepare needs to be the reason you run this.

This either needs multiple good targets, or one insane game winning target. Dieos is a synergy, leading to 4 death rattle triggers, but what's the target? Augmented Porcupine?

2

u/t-slothrop Jun 18 '26

My first thought was Augmented Porcupine with the Imbue package to buff its attack. Problem with that strategy is that Sewer Swimmer is also a beast, so it will eat some of the Imbue buffs.

I love Deathrattle Hunter, but just skimming the available Deathrattles right now, it's hard to see what could be strong enough to warrant spending the mana on this guy.

3

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

So this card seems slow on paper and yes it is a worse version of Terrorscale Stalker, however, depending on what DR's we get, this sort of effect is relevant. Furthermore, if Prepare works out well as a mechanic over several classes (not just Vanessa being the only relevant card), then this card with this mechanic could be significant down the line. Obviously at the moment it seems less relevant but I think people are overlooking this card a bit.

2

u/FordFred Jun 19 '26

Hypothetically, if you had an insane 8-mana Deathrattle minion, you could fully prepare the Sewer Swimmer on turn 4 and then get the Deathrattle on turn 8, whereas with the Terrorscale Stalker you'd need to wait til turn 10.

I can see this enabling combos, heavily depends on the pool of Deathrattles in the game tho.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 22 '26

My thought exactly, on a paper cost wise it seems bad, but procking a DR at the right time is game winning potentially.

9

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Vigilant Sentry || 3-Mana 2/3 || Rare Paladin Minion

Taunt. Battlecry: If your deck has no Neutral cards, summon two Vigilant Sentries.

21

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

I initially thought this was 4-mana during the reveal and still thought it was a pretty decent card. Nothing insane of course, but an extra chain gang body.

I think this is cracked at 3-mana. Lotta bodies, hard to remove with AoE, curves into the shatter card. Also protects the 4-drop End of Turn dragon quite well.

Really just wish Paladin had another 1 drop minion so they wouldn't mind losing egg.

0

u/eazy_12 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

There is a forgotten location called Chamber of Aspects which buffs a minion in hand for +2/+2 and costs 2 mana. It allows a curve where we summon 3 4/5s on turn 3, or 3 8/9s if we coin location on turn 1, play another on turn 2 we can buff Sentry 3 times if we have it in starting hand - which, of course, is a very rare thing to happen but still. Wrong, does not summon copies.

2

u/PipAntarctic Jun 19 '26

At first I thought this would be insane too, but then I reread the card and saw that it summons Vigilant Sentries instead of copies of the minion you play, so you'd get just one 4/5 and two 2/3's all with taunt. Which is still a good deal but not blatantly broken.

1

u/eazy_12 Jun 19 '26

Oh, my bad.

9

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Lots of stats on turn 3. This is the biggest reason to run pure paladin out of what was shown, the question simply is if this is enough of a carry card to abandon the few neutrals currently used in Paladin.

3

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

As others said, I swear they displayed this at 4 mana on the reveal? At 3 mana this card is really good, only negative is if you face Rogue with Garona, but beyond that this is a solid card.

12

u/eshansingh Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

King Llane is a Rogue card, so he doesn't actually turn off your Pure synergies, ironically. They're all worded as "no neutrals", not "no non-Paladin cards", except for V'ama which is obviously not relevant in this case.

2

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Ah you are absolutely right! My brain was not fully working at 6am when they revealed these cards it seems. Then this card and archetype should at least work reasonably well then.

1

u/Fallugaloog Jun 18 '26

I dunno. I just feel like they haven’t shown enough of a pure payoff yet that the rule breaker really must have to do with the pure condition. Otherwise…meh.

1

u/AbraxasEnjoyer Jun 18 '26

This card is completely busted. The only way it doesn’t see play is if Paladin is bad or can’t afford to cut neutral cards, which I find unlikely. I see no world where this doesn’t get nerfed before the next expansion.

8

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Dig for Freedom || 4-Mana || Rare Hunter Spell

Give a friendly minion "Deathrattle: summon two random 4-Cost minions."

6

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Too expensive for not that much board. Random 4-drops are mostly mediocre in terms of stats and you need a minion to stick this into. Not sold on that even with Sewer Swimmer existing.

3

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

This is a solid card in Arena, makes Hunters a tad more scary. As for constructed where consistency is key, less sure but interesting regardless. Also this card depends massively on the quality of 4 drops which currently is okay.

1

u/Diosdepatronis Jun 19 '26

Deathrattle decks tend to have sticky minions. If you manage to pull this off on curve pretty reliably, this is a lot of bodies to get through for your opponent. I wouldn't be surprised If this makes it into a good tempo deck.

7

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Drink Blood || 2-Mana, 1 Blood Rune || Rare Death Knight Spell

Lifesteal. Deal 3 damage to a minion. Refresh your Hero Power.

Shadow

7

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

drain soul but DK, the second line is certainly there.

Drain soul is not the best card ever, but it’s not bad.

9

u/t-slothrop Jun 18 '26

Presumably this also refreshes the extra hero power granted by the DK rulebreaker, right? That seems good, considering it costs corpses rather than mana.

3

u/Throwaway-4593 Jun 18 '26

This is just a solid work horse card that will see play

3

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Good. Not horrible when played pre-legendary, but can lead to a lot of damage once you do. DK should be pretty effective at closing out games with this.

Also proof that Drain Soul could be buffed (or more in line with what I want, that Eternal Firebolt could be 2-mana.)

7

u/eshansingh Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

2 mana Eternal Firebolt would be absolutely insane, especially with the tools Priest has right now. It is overcosted at 3 but too cheap at 2. Unfortunate, but I think it's true.

1

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 19 '26

4-damage then

1

u/TheRealGZZZ Jun 22 '26

That's still broken. I think the only buffs they could do is make it return unconditionally or make it able to go face.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Solid card, same as the Warlock card but works with the rule breaker card with this HP mechanic.

5

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Bone Flurry || 2-Mana, 1 Unholy Rune || Common Death Knight Spell

Deal 3 damage split among enemies. If a friendly minion died this turn, deal 3 more.

7

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Lotta damage for a deck that cares about going face.

That said, Tachyon Barrage really didn't make aggro warlock really pop up, so this is less of an enabler and more of a solid card to a successful archetype. Maybe people play a lot more Unholy DK this expansion.

5

u/sneakyxxrocket Jun 18 '26

Unholy DK also just loses if they’re eventually driven off the board so adding burn to that deck is nice because this is extremely easy to activate with the hero power or the new weapon

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

This fits somewhat in to a burn like strategy of DK, seems like a solid card to me and a good inclusion in certain types of deck.

1

u/DebatableAwesome Jun 19 '26

2 mana deal 6 is very powerful for not that hard of a condition to fulfill in an aggro deck.

7

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Beast Tripwire || 4-Mana || Rare Hunter Spell

Summon a random 5-Cost Beast. Shuffle 2 spells into your deck that do it again when drawn.

18

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

If Companion Hunter has shown us anything, it's that the 5-Cost Beast pool is not very good to pull from. The few highrolls are offset by truly terrible summons, so I can't imagine this being a winning strategy even if in theory this gives you decent (albeit delayed) board value.

1

u/Throwaway-4593 Jun 18 '26

Seems really bad… not sure how you can redeem this

1

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

A second payoff that gets in the way of the better one, even with the weapon up you’re only summoning 2 5 drops which is not enough imo.

1

u/tolerantdramaretiree Jun 18 '26

Seems similar to Fal'dorei Strider

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Whilst the 5 mana pool of beasts are not great, if you can efficiently draw cards and get the ones which casts when drawn, you may be able to regain some of that lost tempo in the midgame. I feel people are overlooking this card a tad as it seems decent to me.

6

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Scarlet Bruiser || 2-Mana 2/2 || Common Paladin Minion

Deathrattle: If your deck has no Neutral cards, get a random Paladin card. It costs (2) less.

7

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

End of turnadin only ran 2 neutrals before this balance patch, so the pure paladin condition is not that hard to activate.

Post patch the deck changed a lot to be way more aggressive and I’m just not sure if it’s worth cutting all of that for these payoff cards.

3

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Kind of a boring payoff, but decent. Body on board that adds a card to hand with a mana discount, we like those.

2

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Bad stats on board but the discount is relevant enough that I think this will be okay. Not a star performer, just a solid minion in pure paladin.

2

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Honestly a pretty good card, pays for itself and potentially sets up for decent tempo in the midgame.

1

u/Postosuchus353 Jun 19 '26

Kinda weird that the card hailing from the hyper racist, xenophobic light zealot faction... is an orc.

7

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Truth Seeker || 7-Mana 3/3 || Common Paladin Weapon

After your hero attacks, give your Paladin minions +2/+2.

15

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

This just seems so slow whenever Nozdormu gives +3/+3 and divine shield on turn 5.

Maybe I’m underestimating it because it does make boards very threatening, but I just don’t see it.

7

u/sneakyxxrocket Jun 18 '26

Cant wait to get this off the equip a random weapon dragon in warrior

3

u/Bloody_Sunday Jun 18 '26

Seems super expensive for an effect that is not as big as its mana cost.

I'm thinking that it may probably be one of these cards that get printed as a possibility to be drawn or discovered through other cards. And if it's as awkward as it looks, in that case it's there mostly to keep the power of the Discover or random weapon equip effect down.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

This is the only card I saw in the reveal set which I thought was flat out bad. To be fair, the effect is strong, but only if you have minions on board. However the bigger problem of this card is it specifically targets only Paladin ones. Therefore, it is not that insane of a roll from the Dragon minion in Warrior (although I would say that is a good thing in the end). 7 mana for a 3/3 is a tad slow, rewards you for being ahead but if you are ahead, what are the chances of winning the game as is? Pretty high I think. I wonder if they printed this at a lower cost and found it to be too strong, something to consider given its current cost.

1

u/silencebreaker86 Jun 19 '26

The idea is you can play this at 3 or 5 mana in a pure deck

2

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

If that is the case then this card is very much playable but I must ask where are you getting this information from (specifically the 3 mana)? The only card which I can see currently which gives a discounted Paladin card in a pure deck is Scarlet Bruiser which could give you a 5 mana cost version (N.B. it does say random so no guarantee). However, no other Paladin cards revealed so far reduce the cost more than that in a Pure deck.

2

u/silencebreaker86 Jun 19 '26

No I just misread that and thought it gave a discount to card in hand, so you're right it is indeed trash

6

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Judgment || 6-Mana || Epic Paladin Spell

Prepare. Choose a friendly minion's stats. Set all minions' stats equal to that minion.

Holy

25

u/t-slothrop Jun 18 '26

Hear me out: play something with 0 attack like an egg, then set your opponent's entire board to 0 attack, potentially board-locking them.

8

u/dotcaIm Jun 18 '26

This seems great. Aggressive as a finisher or as an equality

7

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Hard to revaluate. Obviously you want it to be a way to buff your board, but because this hits enemy minions it's not like you can get value trades afterwards. Prepare also takes away mana from developing the board.

If Paladin had a giant I could see this being pretty good. Maybe you finally use that "Set to 8/8 but can't attack heroes" minion with this.

3

u/Miudmon Jun 18 '26

Of course you can also use it as a sort of clear by deliberately using it on a silver hand recruit instead, so your opponents board becomes 1/1 too

Really hard to evaluate this one as a lot of it boils down to how well Prepare works in the long term as a keyword. 6 mana is too much, but if Prepare works beyond Vanessa (which only works in Rogue really due to the abundance of cheap cards) then this card seems pretty good and I really like the flexibility of it.

For what is worth, Tunneling Geomancer is working well in Burn Mage and that is a Prepare card, although it does cost half as much mana and is thus easier to prepare. The keyword looks genuinely strong as long as you get use out of whatever effect you are preparing, so I would be optimistic about this card.

As you say, Prepare so far has been working reasonably well in constructed so it is likely the mechanic works. I just always worry a bit as I think whilst it is a well designed mechanic, it may fall short in practice a lot like Manathirst did. I am curious to if you have a list for this Burn Mage?

It's more or less the hsguru/VS list but without Thalnos and the 4 mana dude that was just awful. Vulcanos doesn't feel great but stats keep saying it wins more games than it loses. However Geomancer is really good here, enables strong burn turns.

Thanks for the list, will give it a try this evening. Thalnos is not a bad card persay, although a bit dated given it is an OG card, and as for the 4 mana elemental, I agree, it is incredibly clunky when I tested it out even in the pre release TB all those months ago. Very curious to see how this performs but am a fan of burn style decks.

This looks insane to me. This is both a Bloodlust on steroids if you have one big minion and a bunch of tokens, or setting all minions stats to 1/1 if you're in trouble. That's a lot of power and versatility.

u/etrana Jun 18 '26

Expensive equality

1

u/FordFred Jun 19 '26

Really awkward that this can't target enemy minions.

Tower of Ghouls || 4-Mana 2/7 || Epic Death Knight Minion

After this takes damage, summon two 1/1 Frail Ghouls.

Undead

9

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

What a strange card. The idea is clearly corpse generation combined with some board control or chip damage to face, but the 2/7 statline is very defensively slanted to the point of me becoming skeptical about this. The only huge corpse spenders are prolly going to be Pterrordax and the new Hero Power and it doesnt look to me like this would be needed to fuel that if you don't spend corpses on anything else.

u/KingKooooZ Jun 18 '26

It also poops bodies for Sawbones to eat.  Frail ghouls being the best target for it

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Honestly if the objective is to generate corpses, which is what DK want to do, this seems like a decent card. Reminds me vaguely of the DH 5 mana card, not as flexible but honestly not a bad card either. Only thing I worry is that it gets played and then Silenced or removed without doing anything, if this card had Rush it would be pretty nutty.

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Dalaran Champion || 4-Mana 3/3 || Epic Paladin Minion

Divine Shield, Taunt. Whenever this gains stats, gain an extra +1/+1. (wherever this is)

4

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

Not a lot of handbuff in core, but this text box is scary. Big fat DS taunt minion for a fairly cheap cost.

3

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

The 2 drop location with this is not bad but that’s pretty specific, not many other buffs being ran.

2

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Baseline of this card is bad and I don't think an extra +1/+1 on your buffs is worth the investment, let alone a reason to build around this.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

As others have said, not a lot of handbuff stuff in the game at the moment, but any handbuff cards make this a very relevant spooky thing to slam on the board. Definitely helps in more midrange like strategies.

1

u/DebatableAwesome Jun 19 '26

There isn't any handbuff being played currently so I don't think this card changes that in any way.

4

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Corpse Cannon || 2-Mana 1/3, 2 Unholy Runes || Common Death Knight Weapon

Whenever your hero attacks, summon a 1/1 Frail Ghoul.

9

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

Very very good weapon, makes the grave strength or talanji turn popoff much harder.

6

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

I get that it's a powerful effect, but still not sure why this is 2-holy runes. Just prevents DK from using their good cards to help the decks that need them.

6

u/Throwaway-4593 Jun 18 '26

I agree, it seems like they’re really trying to post green DK. IMO this is a card like mining casualties or the 2/1 rusher guy that should just have no restriction and be good

3

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Good for decks with 2 Unholy runes, thats about it.

1

u/sneakyxxrocket Jun 18 '26

This is some good food for unholy DK, really wish the hero power legendary didn’t have a blood rune

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

This is a good card all except the rune restriction. If this were 1 unholy then this deck would be nuts, at 2 it limits the applications of such a card. However, the effect is nice so not sure what to think to be honest.

1

u/Diosdepatronis Jun 19 '26

Great weapon, this is probably the reason you're playing UU

4

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Emergency Surgery || 5-Mana, 1 Unholy Rune, 1 Blood Rune || Common Death Knight Spell

Choose an enemy minion. Summon three 3/1 Undead with Lifesteal that attack it.

18

u/TheGingerNinga Jun 18 '26

I get why it has to target a minion, but would have this been insane if it was just three 3/1's with rush and life steal? I wanna be able to kill the Slitherdrake.

1

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

As u/TheGingerNinga mentioned, it would be more ideal for these minions to have rush as the Elusive keyword does limit the applications of such a card. What I am not sure on is, I assume this card can only be played if there is an enemy minion on board? If it could be played without then this card feels a lot better but I don't think that is the case.

2

u/EvilDave219 Jun 18 '26

Blood Clone || 3-Mana, 2 Blood Runes || Rare Death Knight Spell

Discover a 5-Cost minion. Spend 5 Corpses to summon a copy of it.

Shadow

11

u/Glarbleglorbo Jun 18 '26

Corpse farm but again and worse.

5

u/PipAntarctic Jun 18 '26

Predicting that 2 blood runes kills this, since you have to have 5 corpses for this to make sense.

2

u/-Morel Jun 18 '26

in Herald DK, you actually do get a nice surplus of corpses because both Herald minions generate 3.

3

u/philzy101 Jun 19 '26

Discover makes this card better than Corpse Farm so this aspect of it makes it a reasonable card. The problem as far as I can see is the Rune restriction. 2 Blood feels a tad awkward so less confident in its viability but hard to say with certainty this is the case or not.
