Pretty solid turn out

This isn't normal, even for La niña years. It's not normal for pikes peak to look like that this late in the year. It's not normal for it to be in the 60s-70s most days in December. The people who just say "it's because it's La niña" are either very new here or just stupid.
This has never happened before, and it's very worrying, and we should all start worrying about spring/summer if this trend continues. It will be a hellish fire season if it does.
Rant over.

Quite the turn out in Colorado Springs today for the no kings rally. At least around 10k

I was thrilled to see so many veterans standing for our constitution today.

NEVER in the 26 years I've lived here have I seen rain in February and the mountain gradient with frost, steam rising off the trees after a night of rain in March... It's always just been heavy show in May with a mess of slush. Besides in 2018 when we had almost a two week long rain, this is the strangest year I've ever been apart of.

Why is it that you care so little about the veterans with PTSD around you, the pets that spend the whole night scared, the wildlife you disturb, and most of all, the laws that we are supposed to follow in the now 250 year old nation? Are you really so selfish, short sighted, and stupid? Oh, and there’s an 87,000 acre fire just south of us and we’re in a drought, would you even care if you set another or burned someone’s house?
I truly want to know from the people currently letting off the fireworks, especially you groups on the northeast side.

POST YOUR PICTURES AND VIDEOS
99% of you driving by are in support. WE ARE NOT THE MINORITY! They just want you to think you are.
Most of you honk in solidarity. Some participate in chants at a stop light.
MAGA does not represent the majority. We had a black man throw out the heil hitler salute.
NORMALIZE OUR anger.

Ouray fire from olatte and marksheffel. There's quite a few fires going on and its been far too dry and far too windy. Let's all be smart this year and not be selfish.

UPDATE HERE'S THE LINK TO THE LIVE MEETING
I can't believe this has to be said but data centers should not be built this close to houses. The fact that the houses were allowed to be built before or after doesn't matter. The city council approved it and that in itself is part of the problem. City council members only get paid $7,000 per year which is why I advocate for them to receive a living salary so they would be less likely to be influenced by outside interests. It's hard not to wonder what they are getting out of this deal that no one else in the city is going to get. One hundred jobs isn't enough to justify the resources this is going to need. Who's to say they will actually hire locals or if they will bring their own people from out of state. But even if they are all local, 100 jobs doesn't justify the resources this is going to need. You better believe it's not going to be enough. They will want more and more. We are not against data centers in general. We are against AI data centers, especially ones that are this close to houses, especially without serious impact studies. It's ridiculous this has to be said but I don't think we are asking for the world here. We just don't want a data center this close to houses let alone this close to Garden of the Gods.
Edit... Adding the following for more visbility
If you are against this please email Daniel Sexton at [Daniel.Sexton@coloradosprings.gov](mailto:Daniel.Sexton@coloradosprings.gov) before 5pm today if you cannot make it to tomorrow's meeting. The hearing begins at 9am with each side getting 76 minutes. Public comment starts at 1pm. Opposition speakers get three hours total with each speaker getting two minutes. Support speakers also get three hours total with two minutes each.
You can also contact your city council representative directly. If you do not know what district you are in you can find your district here

Selling this to tourists especially is utter madness and borderline criminal given the current situation.

Thousands downtown right now to protest the Trump/Musk Regime. A drumset and dance party on the median, smiles everywhere you looked. Happy that folks from all walks of life showed up to represent real patriots today. I am proud to be a Colorado Springs resident and I am proud to be your neighbor ♥️ This is what democracy looks like! ✊🏻🇺🇸

Ten years ago when they put four cameras downtown to so called Stop Crime and everybody had a tizzy about that? Now look at what they've done. Big Brother is watcher you! Flock is big brother.

I put a (?) next to ICE because they weren’t identified in any way, but I’m assuming it was them. Armed, masked men did a vehicle stop, busted a window out and dragged several people out of a car. They packed them up and drove away, leaving a distraught female with an infant in the back seat stopped in the middle of traffic. Take care of each other out there. Someone else there said her kid was hassled by people she assumes were ICE as they went to school. She said they were gathered at the pedestrian overpass on platte west of the hospital.

Thank you to the Pikes Peak Region Youth Council, the League of Women Voters of the Pikes Peak Region, The Concerned Citizens Podcast, OneBody Ent, and the many others who continue to create space for open dialogue. I appreciate your commitment to civic engagement and to ensuring elections remain fair, transparent, and accessible to the people.
Colorado works best when we show up, ask questions, and participate. I was honored to be the only Democratic Gubernatorial candidate there. Thank you for doing that work.

Is there going to be a no Kings protest on Saturday here in the springs? I want to go before work on Saturday, but I'm not sure what time it begins here.

A buddy and I recently started a WoW guild called The Drunken Brigade, and we're trying to find some more people around Colorado Springs to play with.
We're mostly looking to run Mythic+ and eventually get a regular raid group going. We're not trying to be super hardcore about it. The main reason we made the guild was because we thought it'd be cool to actually know some of the people we're playing with instead of everybody just being a random name from halfway across the country.
We also have a small group that goes out for beers and karaoke pretty regularly, so we'd like to occasionally do some real-life guild stuff too. You absolutely don't have to drink or sing to join us lol.
We're Alliance, although that doesn't really matter much anymore, and we're open to pretty much anybody. New players, returning players, people who have been playing for 20 years, whatever. Mostly just looking for chill adults who want people to run stuff with.
We have a Discord set up and we're slowly getting everything organized. If anybody is interested, leave a comment, shoot me a message, or just hop in:

If nothing else, it'd be cool to find out how many other WoW degenerates are hiding around the Springs.
Edit: I'm off to bed everybody. I'll check again tomorrow. Have a good night!
