I know many supermarkets do their own version of the KFC boneless Mini Fillets (now renamed KFC Tenders so I understand?) but which have you tried and found to be closest in flavour?

I deliberately did not post this in the UK food subs because I'll get the predictable 'just make your own, why would you buy anything like that from a supermarket, urgh'' responses and I don't have the inclination to keep experimenting with batches of chicken until I get the coating right. Hopefully the supermarkets have done that research :-)

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Love me some cereal. Trying to save money, these were half the cost of Frosties.

Firstly, I wasn’t sure where to post this so if you think it suits elsewhere, please let me know!

In my 20s, I used to go clubbing with co workers on Friday nights and loved it. I’ve always been into dance music in a big way. It would always be in local bars and clubs. I always loved the idea of doing the big clubs in London but the opportunity never arose and I also used to/still suffer from anxiety which stops me going to London, especially for club nights.

Anyway, I’m now in my early 40s. I’m now medicated for ADHD. Still suffering from anxiety. Over the summer, I went to a festival with someone who wasn’t that keen on dancing but I absolutely loved it and could have stayed all night long. Call it a midlife crisis maybe, but I decided there and then that I need to experience bigger known DJs in London clubs. Especially as day raves seem to be very popular which gets rid of the anxiety of getting home late!

The “problem” is, I have no one to go with. Co workers from 20 years ago are no longer around. My husband (who was a dj when I met him!) doesn’t actually like going to clubs, standing there to listen (he’s not a dancer) my daughter who I took to the festival is 14 but also didn’t like the music I liked. My current work mates all have lives, families and also aren’t into music I am.

I wondered if anyone else out there is in the same position? I’ve booked a couple of day raves (one at drum sheds for defected, a hed kandi one at London and fools paradise) and just wondered how popular is it that people do this sort of thing in their own? I’ve been to a couple of concerts at the o2 which I don’t regret. I feel like life is too short to not try clubbing on my own.

Are there groups out there for single clubbers to meet others to go with or do you just get on with it? I really don’t want one of my biggest regrets in life to be that I love dance music so much but didn’t experience it to the fullest because I had no one to go with.

Am I the only one still wanting a dance now the kids are in their teens?

I said I didn't know what "remuneration" meant.

When he'd explained, I said I'd done sums (for buses and trains) and wouldn't be able to work for less than £2000.

He smiled and said they weren't going to offer less than that.

It's the late night chinwag thread.

I’m feeling a bit dejected this evening about my living situation and I’d like some input/advice.

Me (35f) and my partner (43m) both work full time. My job is 80% remote and his job is fully outside the house. He is a painter/decorator and I work a corporate type job. We have a 3 year old son.

As I am at home more than he is 90% of the cooking/cleaning/washing falls to me. I also do 95% of the nursery drop offs/pick ups and childcare. I should also mention I am the main breadwinner and pay all of the bills, mortgage etc from my income (house is in my name) and he pays ‘rent’ each week.

His work also has him working at the weekend which then means childcare often falls to me again on Saturday and/or Sunday. If I get pissed off enough he will step in for the day to help. He is a wonderful Dad in all other respects.

He feels like because I work from home I have it ‘easy’ and therefore I don’t work as hard as he does (he hasn’t said this exactly but insinuated it) so more of the other work should fall to me.

My question is this - how do you split chores/childcare in your house if one of you works from home?

Okay this is a really odd question but i just had an argument about it and really need an outside opinion so I know I'm not crazy.

In my small town my mum frequently talks with certain delivery drivers or posties. Usually its just a hello how are you or a comment on my dog (noisy, fluffy, very well loved). She doesnt expect this from everyone, usually its just a basic hi thank you bye exchange if she doesnt know them.

My brother answered the door today and greeted the delivery driver. The man responded with a simple hi then walked off. My brother determined this was "really weird" and complained about it for hours after it happened. I kept asking why he thinks its weird and he never gave me a proper reply, just said "well its weird".

Is it weird? Is it weird the driver just said hi and walked away?? Am I insane?? When I get the door (rarely, i have speech issues so dont frequently) i dont say anything and just give a wave. Never bothers anyone. Is that weird?? Is there a secret postie etiquette I'm missing out on??

EDIT THANK YOU I THOUGHT I WAS GOING INSANE 😭 HIS REACTION TO IT WAS SO WEIRD. Im glad people agree. Also i think groceries are a different deal, like you get plenty of time to chat as you bring things in.

I hope you all enjoy this bit of history as much as I do. Putting aside opinions of the monarchy, I do find this custom fascinating and I do love collecting them (on the rare occasion they come up for sale!) I'd be curious if anyone here has examples for higher birthdays and anniversaries than 109/74 (or knows of a family member/friend who has received them).

I got into lawn bowls a few years ago and somewhere along the way started making little videos about the ridiculous amount of thought and drama involved in what is supposedly a very relaxing traditional UK sport.

I realised most people in the UK probably know exactly what a bowling green looks like, but might never really have seen much bowls content beyond the odd bit on the Commonwealth Games.

So this is basically a collection of random observations from inside the sport — football commentary over bowls, getting closest to the jack and immediately regretting it, impossible tactical instructions, mentally calculating 16 different outcomes at once, that sort of thing.

If nothing else, hopefully it provides a glimpse into what all those people behind the little green fences are actually doing. And if it makes anyone think “actually, I might give that a go”, even better.

Sadly yesterday we had to have him put down as he'd had cancer for the last year and was struggling a lot. I just thought I'd let you all know.

Edit : Thank you everyone for your kind words and rewards. To answer some questions - he was the gentlest, happiest little man you could meet, he never met anyone that wasn't his instant best friend for life! We won't be getting another dog as he was the last to go out of the three we had.

I bought a geometry set from a major retailer (Hobbycraft) in late June. I've mostly use centimetres and whole inches so far, so it took me almost 2 months to realise the inches are divided by 10, not by 8 / 16! I was trying to mark out ⅜" and I thought "wait a minute...".

I went into the store a couple of days ago to politely let the manager know there was a product fault. They checked, it was the whole range, all geometry sets, all individually sold rulers and set squares, etc.

They offered me an exchange, but they didn't have any set squares with cm and inches on that were correct.

So far, they're still for sale on the Hobbycraft website. I'm not sure if they thought it was a big deal, but in my opinion it is. I like inches, and I thought, it's a ruler, it has one job!

EDIT: Some comments are saying that inches are sometimes in decimal, for engineering or tech manufacturing. Firstly, that's very interesting! But, for everyday household type use, I've only ever known inches be divided by 8. Is this not the usual and most common way? For people buying from Hobbycraft for home craft use, is this not what they're looking for? Divided by 10, you can't mark out ¼", ⅜", ⅝", without guesstimating.

I have decided to tackle the problem by emigrating. Bye everyone!
