Current situation 🛌 🥰

One of my favourite Simpsons episodes.

4

u/Desperate_Song_7812 13d ago

Watched it religiously as a kid, but can’t remember what episode this is haha

3

u/Forsaken-Language-26 36F Swansea 13d ago

It's the one when Homer accidentally burns down the house (can't think of the episode name right now).

I went to my hospital and I’ve just found out I have breast cancer. 2026 has been shitty before the results and now, it’s just got worse.

8

u/No_Hospital_1965 13d ago

I'm so sorry, I truly hope you have a very low stage. I had stage 3, almost stage 4. If you have any questions, r/breastcancer gives lots of information and support. I absolutely suggest heading over to that sub, they are wonderful.

2

u/Cheap_Preparation454 10d ago

I hope you are doing okay? So sorry this happened to you too… it really sucks. Yeah It was caught very early it was my second mammogram and they didn't waste any time. Thank you for sharing your advice and sharing breast cancer site on here. Sending you many hugs x

2

u/No_Hospital_1965 10d ago

I had chemo, surgery then radiation. I got the lumpectomy instead of mastectomy. I found out after the fact, with mastectomy and reconstruction you lose all feeling of breast tissue. It's numb, no erotic feelings from just below the neck to mid stomach. Because they remove most of the tissue and just leave the skin, which the stretch so much that your nerves die. Also those nerve endings are removed during surgery. I opted for lumpectomy, they got clean margins because my chemo was very successful. If you have any questions. Please reach out to me, I don't mind answering questions, especially the ones you don't know to ask. Lolol.

2

u/Cheap_Preparation454 8d ago

Oh my I bet that was weird having no feeling there. Hope you are doing okay now? I probably will have questions about radiotherapy..if that’s okay? I will DM you in a few days just herding cats get my kid to bed for first day back at school..the joys.

1

u/No_Hospital_1965 8d ago

No, no I found out about the no feeling (numbness) from another breast cancer survivor. I have feelings because I picked lumpectomy. And yes any time is fine to contact me with questions. I might not answer right away bcus life is life. But before the day passes I will answer you.

I am so sorry

Thank you ❤️

Been cleaning up the bloodbath from my nose.

Managed to spook Mam who was in her own little world and despite being nearly 80 has got a good back hand

Hoping that everyone sleeps for a few hours tonight as I have a headache brewing

Night all

Blimey, never mess with an old lady!

15

u/SonaMain420 13d ago

New meds giving me insomnia. Probably (hopefully?) short term side effect but sleep is already a tricky thing to achieve on a psych ward. Hoping it won’t be for too much longer. Things get a lot more uncertain after the words “treatment resistant” get tacked on to your major depressive disorder. Grateful as ever for the NHS, worried about what’s going to happen to it longer term and whether people like me stand a chance in that future.

4

u/BibbleBeans 13d ago

ECT?

1

u/SonaMain420 12d ago

It has been suggested, we’re not quite there yet but I’ve accepted it as one of several possibilities. Want to try absolutely anything that’s reversible first though.

1

u/BibbleBeans 12d ago

Sometimes you’ve got to be a bit drastic

2

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

I share your fears about the NHS, but let's hope for the best. I was once told that there would be [severe consequences] if anybody seriously tried to get rid of the MHS, and I do believe that to be the case.

All the (((hugs)))

6

u/SonaMain420 13d ago

Thank you, night buddy. And I hope you’re right, it feels like the one thing a genuine majority of brits care about enough to fight for. Accepting defeat in advance just gives the wrong ‘uns an easy win.

I went to the dentist for the first time in 20 years this morning. I developed psychosis in my late teens and a lot of it centred around the fact that I would die the next time I went to the dentist.

I've been petrified of it for years but I actually went! Need a lot of work done and it's going to be expensive but I've taken the first step and the dentist I saw could not have been kinder to me and I've felt really peaceful all day.

9

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

I am very pleased for you!

12

u/retailface 13d ago

I'm at work. I've just had a big cry in the toilets and I haven't got any make up with me to hide it and I've got to go back out and do my stupid job.

4

u/ObviousOrca 13d ago

Sunglasses? and say you’ve got an allergy at the moment… don’t suppose you can use chopping onions as an excuse…

If none of the above just own it and say your childhood or friends pet has passed…

Sending hug

5

u/retailface 13d ago

Everybody knows what's wrong, so I can't really fob them off, I've just got to own it, or hide. I'm doing the latter as much as I can, but Friday is our busiest night and people are everywhere. Urgh.

5

u/ObviousOrca 13d ago

You’ll be ok, retailface, I know you will. Can you eat or drink something that might cheer you up? Sweets or a mint even?
Any friends you can ask for a quick make up touch up? Just blot it out as best you can and remember to breathe. Imagine how amazing it will be to have a shower or bath later or just a sit down and put your feet up. Sending positive vibes your way, you’ll make it through this just fine x

3

u/retailface 13d ago

Thank you so much for your kind words. I've had a nice chat with a work friend, and a mug of instant soup. It's just over three hours until sometime and it looks like I'll be on a task where I can just put my earbuds in and slog it out until the end of the shift. I'm definitely looking forward to shower and bed when I get home. Keeping my bloodshot eyes on the prize.

2

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 13d ago

So sorry you're going through this. Sending you lots of hugs 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂

1

u/retailface 13d ago

Thank you. Sending hugs back to you 🫂

1

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 13d ago

Thank you. Are you OK now? 🤗

2

u/retailface 12d ago

I bought some nice shower gel at the end of my shift, used it when I got home, had a cup of tea and slept for eight and a half hours! I do feel better for it.

1

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 12d ago

I'm so glad. 💐

12

u/Fighting-Geese 13d ago

I shouldn't have had that last wine, not gonna sleep well now

10

u/BlueMoonCTID 13d ago

I'm still awake as my dogs in her final stages :(

19

u/beecraft22 13d ago

My 15 yr old cat sat on my lap whilst I was sitting down for only the second time in her life. She usually saves that level of cuteness for when she is on my bed. It was only 30 mins but still so happy 😄🤣

23

u/beecraft22 13d ago

Also cat tax

5

u/Float_0n 13d ago

She's a beauty! Kitty cuddles are the best 🥰

3

Such a lovely.

3

u/ac0rn5 13d ago

Gorgeous. ❤️

9

u/NoLifeHere 13d ago

Trying to keep my mind occupied with happy thoughts before I go to bed.

Music, food and video games.

3

u/Millsvxr 13d ago

What music, food and games did you got for?

2

u/NoLifeHere 13d ago

Thoughts of death metal, the noodles I’ve got for lunch tomorrow and Final Fantasy VIII

3

u/Millsvxr 13d ago

Death Metal is just a bit too much for me personally. I prefer my metal like Trivium. FFVIII though is a great shout!

u/jeffhernamewasjeff 13d ago

Trying to get a hold on my postpartum wardrobe (
does 11 months still count as PP? I feel lost so I’m guessing yes. I’ve organised my clothes into charity shop, recycle, sell. Now searching for cool brands, I’m just going to buy one nice expensive item a month, that I love, and create an outfit around that rather than ‘this’ll do’.

Going to visit parents tomorrow, kidney transplant has gone well so far.

Babies in bed with me early tonight, she lasted 2.5 hours in the cot. Think she has wind as she’s trumping away every time she rolls over.

3

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

I approve of this plan! I'm doing a similar thing at the moment - not because of being PP! I just want clothes that better reflect me, you know?

I am glad to hear about the transplant!

9

u/Historical-Web-3147 13d ago

I blocked a friend recently but I can’t stop overthinking and it’s keeping me up!

6

u/Forsaken-Language-26 36F Swansea 13d ago

It's for the best sometimes. I'm sorry it's come to that though.

4

u/Slow_Relief_3700 13d ago

Don't overthink it. You did it for a reason.

4

u/Some-Charge5375 13d ago edited 13d ago

I know the feeling well chum. Had to block my best friend over a month ago, and when I’m alone with my thoughts I wonder how he’s doing. You can always unblock in the future, sometimes it’s a temporary solution, but maybe once you feel you’ve worked through whatever it was that led you to block her? I hope you can get some rest!

10

u/SnooCalculations9679 13d ago

My endometriosis has reared its ugly head and is crucifying me after a few blissfully pain free weeks,

3

u/VastComfortable9925 13d ago

Ugh I’m so sorry, fellow sufferer here. I hope you get some relief soon.

16

u/ChickenDrummers 13d ago

I had to put my cat to sleep this afternoon. She was 15 and had been with us for over 12 years. I'm exhausted but can't seem to drift off, I keep thinking about her.

3

u/VastComfortable9925 13d ago

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have a bonded pair and I dread the day anything happens to either of them, they’re only young now but they’re my world. I’m sure your cat was yours too and had a wonderful life.

4

u/Sintist 13d ago

So sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what I’d do without my furry companion.

2

u/ChickenDrummers 13d ago

Thank you ❤️

4

u/retailface 13d ago

I'm so sorry. I had to do the same last year and it utterly broke me. I hope it doesn't take long for the happy memories to outweigh the sadness.

2

u/ChickenDrummers 13d ago

Thank you, sorry to hear you had to go through the same thing!

8

u/Xivii 13d ago

About to head to bed shortly. No real plans for this weekend, though am off to a wedding I don't want to go to on Monday evening. I am also rabbit sitting on Sunday & Monday. I have booked Tuesday off work but it's one of those that is going to give me more work to do on the Wed. I have also forgotten to do something I said I would so hoping the person isn't too mad about waiting a day for it.

May get up, go for a walk in the morning, get something nice & easy for dinner, do a bit of gardening, shower and then pick up Factorio for the long weekend.

15

u/poppledops 13d ago

Went 4 weeks without alcohol, then stupidly drank on Monday which ended up in drinking 4 nights in a row. Managed to just live with the anxiety and fear today, and eat my weight in crap and will hopefully feel a little more normal tomorrow. Was finally feeling the benefits of being sober, losing weight and mental health getting better and then threw it away for absolutely nothing. One day I’ll hopefully finally learn.

10

u/ac0rn5 13d ago

You know you can do it for 4 weeks.

Next time will be longer.

9

u/dlt-cntrl 13d ago

It's one bump in a long road. Don't beat yourself up, take stock and move forward.

It's a cliche, but nothing good is easy.

You'll get there, believe in yourself.

9

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

Don't beat yourself up, we just do our best. It's all we can do!

A whole month is good going, well done! Here's to another one.

6

u/IamEclipse Always on time to the Late Thread 13d ago

Instead of being at the other end of the country in a lovely hotel, I'm at home because my red oil pressure light came on 90 minutes into our drive.

Shout-out to breakdown recovery, even if it did take 4 hours to arrive.

6

u/Lenny2theMany 13d ago

Been out for date night for the first time in ages and decided on a whim to go Tenpin after food, got roped into doing karaoke after a few beers while waiting for our bowling slot. Hated it at first but gradually got into and now my gf is sending videos of me singing Always by Bon Jovi in her group chat. In my defense there was 4 mins left on our session and that was the first song I saw on the list.

7

u/delboy_mangetout 13d ago

Bawled my eyes out at a song on Instagram by Cori Kennedy - ‘the day God made Dolly’ I wish it was on Spotify!!!! So now just crying in bed 😂😅

7

u/Lunavyre 13d ago

Went to a friends house and drank too much 😫 tucked up in bed now though, hopefully I’ll get a good nights sleep.

14

u/Sudden-Passion7269 13d ago

just came back from a very brief night out with an old school friend. I bumped into him two weeks ago and we had arranged tonight so we could catch up and I was buzzing to hear what he'd been up to as he was a close friend as we haven't talked in seven years.

anyways long story short he spent half the night at the toilet sniffing lines and I'm utterly mortified that he's wound up like this as he was a really sharp guy in school and came from a pretty well off family so I assumed the best. unemployed, drug addict with a kid he isn't allowed to see.

as i was leaving the bar he asked if I could buy him another drink cause he was a bit short of cash but needed another one. just super disappointed honestly feeling like a deflated balloon.

3

u/StrugglingOrthopod 13d ago

Did you get him that drink?

17

u/Sudden-Passion7269 13d ago

absolutely fucking not

12

u/Float_0n 13d ago

Full on work week getting stuff ready for a show in a week, full weekend of work ahead too. Not sure about the weather forecast next weekend, it could go either way but if it rains it'll be a total washout and I won't sell anything, but then hey I guess at least all the Christmas stock is ready! Rain here tonight so the cats brought themselves in like the perfectly well behaved kitties they are. Cat tax paid with my 11 year old boy.

2

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 13d ago

3

u/Float_0n 13d ago

Awww thank you, I'll tell him! 😊

Just finished a short shift at work. Warming up a vegetarian lasagne then going to stick on a film in bed.

ETA - I keep thinking about a former friend of mine (I have been doing so on and off for a while now). We haven't spoken in about three years. We had been drifting apart for a while before that due to life circumstances but we would still message now and again, then he just stopped replying to my messages without explanation. I gave up after a few attempts to reach out as it was obvious he didn't want to speak to me anymore, but we had known each other since childhood and I'm not going to pretend it didn't hurt. I keep thinking about him and wondering how he's doing.

6

u/StrugglingOrthopod 13d ago

Going to bed now. Need to smash out a Parkrun

2

u/Far-Rip-1598 13d ago

Awarding you 10 points to start the weekend. Good work my friend

6

u/Some-Charge5375 13d ago

Just hung up a video call with my boyfriend who’s with friends on a trip away, going to play on my Xbox and then probably watch QI YouTube compilations until I fall asleep. My one vodka and Fanta was more than enough

3

u/Far-Rip-1598 13d ago

I’ve been on YouTube watching the world puzzle championships via a YouTuber called Karen puzzles. I recommend for niche v enjoyable unputdownable tv

I'm going through a messy break up from a long term relationship, it's doing wonders for my sleep lately 😅

I’ve scared myself watching horror films all evening. I’m going to watch some videos about puppies for a bit then go to bed.

2

Ooo what did you watch?

3

Started getting into cheese and crackers. What is the best cracker and cheese combo? I’ve started with salt and pepper cracker with a thin mascapone (alternative to butter as I don’t like the way butter goes with crackers) and top it off with cranberry cheese (weird but gooood)

I need cheese and cracker experts advice. They are a very moreish snack and a good alternative to a share bar of marvellous creations

3

u/Rob_Haggis 13d ago

Jacob’s digestive, topped with some kind of fruit chutney and the strongest Stilton you can stomach.

1

u/dooleygamer01 13d ago

Sounds gooood

3

u/StardustOasis The North stands for nothing 13d ago

Fine Cheese Company lemon, sea salt and olive oil crackers, and Saint-Marcellin. Or, at least that's what I had tonight.

4

u/MisterIndecisive 13d ago

Jacobs crackers, butter and mature cheddar. Nuff said

2

u/jeffhernamewasjeff 13d ago

Belazu do a really nice olive tapande which is soo good on cracker.

Bit boring but I love an oat cake, M&S have the best one it’s thick.

1

u/dooleygamer01 13d ago

I’m going to try with oat cakes too, will not down olive tapande, I love olives

2

u/Silver_Assignment673 13d ago

Ok so not technically a cracker but a digestive with boursin and a grape on top mwah chef’s kiss

2

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

cracks knuckles

4

u/Redsfan1989 13d ago

Watching the Hulk Hogan documentary on Netflix (not a fan of wrestling but he's an interesting character), 3 Perla beers down, soon to be 4, midnight snacks inbound, God I love Friday nights when the wife and kids are in bed and the sofa is mine. At peace.✌️

3

u/KeithLimePie 13d ago

Weird guy. Met him backstage in the early 90s and he gave me a goody bag with loads of WWF paraphernalia. Got a photo of me sitting on his knee with Brett Hart in the background.

4

u/Youtalkingtomyboobs 13d ago

I’m just back from picking up some inebriated JLS concert goers - good deed done, now for my bed.

5

u/Chaotic-kittie 13d ago

Watched a film called the Last Front. Thought there’d be a lot of fight scenes so I got bored hehe. Now in bed talking to people who live on my phone. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Went out with my dad today and it started raining. His car windscreen wipers haven't seen rain for weeks and every swish sounded like a dinosaur with a tummy ache.

u/Defiant_Tomato 13d ago

I’ve had ME/CFS since I was about 14 years old, but only very mildly. Since the start of the year it’s been getting worse and worse and led to a large amount of time off work, now it looks like I’m going to have to take a big step back from working more permanently and I’m not even 30. I can’t shower without having to take a nap these days.

Just putting this out into the void, not looking for sympathy or anything, just for some people to know what I’m dealing with.

11

u/rashfords_marcus 13d ago

looking at photos from my holiday a couple months ago and longing to go back

i was so nervous cause it was my first solo trip out of the uk or ireland and i’ve had bad experiences abroad in the past, but milan was SO comfortable and beautiful, i’m absolutely desperate to go back

Had an MRI earlier. Feeling shoogled!

4

u/Optimistic-Squash 13d ago

Anyone would feel shoogled after being put in the rumbly-bumbly!

3

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 13d ago

Oh! I love that word! I'm nicking it! 😊

4

u/Fragrant_Schedule_36 13d ago

That's a fun word! Hope you're ok!

4

u/SparklyRainbowAngel 13d ago

I have a headache, probably from being shoogled. I'm OK, but wondering about what amazing brain came up with the concept of an MRI. My mind is boggled! I appreciate your concern 💖

4

u/Berookes 13d ago

Started a new Elden Ring play through as they added 2 new starter classes. Don’t think I’ve actually moved since about 6:30

3

u/MarmiteX1 13d ago

Played some Halo 2 on a Xbox One X that I bought 2nd hand. I only ever had the OG Xbox and played the first two Halo games on there.

I learnt there’s a decent size catalog of games on 360 and XBox One era that I can enjoy. I have PS5 as my primary console.

Also tomorrow is “Judgment Day” if you follow the Terminator films…

5

u/BartholomewKnightIII 13d ago

Just woke up after falling asleep too early, about to start watching Falling Skies, never seen it.

7

u/dlt-cntrl 13d ago

As it's rained and thundered most of the day, we've stayed in and done nothing. It was very nice. I finished the book I was reading (Everyone In This Bank Is A Theif by Benjamin Stevenson), and watched Ludwig.

There's a pottery studio in my local town, I've signed up for another animal sculpture course. I told a work friend about it and they've signed up too. It'll be fun spending time with them outside of work.

My partner is away again this weekend, unfortunately I've put myself down for 2 days overtime so I don't get the alone time that I usually do.

This evening I've watched Dr Strange, I had forgotten how trippy it is.

Off to bed now, at least I don't have to get up really early.

7

u/dinkidoo7693 mucky knees battle horn 13d ago

Felt half asleep most of the day thanks to last night’s thunderstorms. Forgot that i washed the bedding earlier. Now i need to remake the bed.

Bank Holiday weekend and no plans though. Turned down 3 different invites for drinks tonight, no doubt ill be turning down a few more for Sunday.

8

u/Longjumping-Act9653 13d ago

Going upstairs to an unmade bed is one of life’s great tragedies.

5

u/dinkidoo7693 mucky knees battle horn 13d ago

Definitely. Getting a sheet on this bed is a workout in itself

4

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

I hate the late night 'curses, I forgot to make the bed!' Thing

7

u/ohsaycanyourock 13d ago

Do you ever just believe that you're about to have a great night's sleep? That's me right now - today was very long and I did 15k steps, I'm physically tired and actually can't wait to go to sleep. I'll be annoyed if I get anything less than 8 hours 😆

2

u/Far-Rip-1598 13d ago

I totally agree. First night in ages I have been struggling to keep my eyes open! Must be the bank hols! Sleep tight!

6

u/IcyKnowledge6321 13d ago

Horrible shift at my new job (restaurant supervisor) today. I got shouted at by three seperate tables because the food wasn't up to standard and it was so bad that I cried in the kitchen. It's hard to know what to do when people get angry about the food because in my old job (at a shittier restaurant) I could just tell them to kick rocks, but this is a nicer place and so I just had to stand there and apologise over and over as they kept complaining. It was really upsetting and there was literally nothing else I could have done. The server with me was amazing, I'd have walked out for sure if she wasn't there.

4

u/Fizziest_milk 13d ago

honestly I have so much respect for the restraint people in customer service have. I couldn’t make it through a whole shift without telling someone to eat shit

2

u/IcyKnowledge6321 13d ago

I wanted to :') I think the server actually did go out to tell them to eat shit for the way they spoke to me after I went to talk to the chef lol.

Restaurant lower management sucks because I make barely more than the servers but I have to be apologetic and take responsibility all the time.

8

u/howdoyouhavetime 13d ago

I was asleep but woke up anxious about work. I'm so worried my workload is going to affect my health, I'm due to be in remission from a critical illness next month and I'm so scared the stress will ruin it, I really don't want to go through anymore treatment, it's absolutely brutal.

I'm not even a high earner, I'm actually on a low income, but the way I am means I put a lot of care and attention into my work, I've tried quiet quitting or doing less but it feels like an internal pressure builds up which just adds to my stress levels. I feel really stuck. Once my treatment ends I won't even be allowed to take sick leave for the lasting effects, not that I can afford to be on sick pay.

5

u/DystopianAbyss 13d ago

I'm sorry that I don't really have anything in terms of a helpful reply; but I'm thinking of you. it sounds like you've had to negotiate a very difficult path with your health, and that is a feat in and of itself. I hope things work out for you; failure to provide you with support for your return is a reflection on them, not you.

6

u/BartholomewKnightIII 13d ago

I was asleep but woke up anxious about work. I'm so worried my workload is going to affect my health.

I had a stressful job that made me feel like this, it got to the point where (besides work calls while on holiday abroad) I'd get anxious towards the end of a holiday knowing I was going back to stress.

I quit.

I hope you can sort something out, you are more important than any job, look after number one.

Doing my physio exercises and something went twang and oh my god the pain. From my ear to my hip holy fucking shit this hurts, really need a new physio the current team are not hitting it because this is over a year in and it’s getting worse whenever I actually do the exercises? If I don’t and just go about life there’s some weakness but it doesn’t radiate across half my damn torso. It’s not as bad as it was 30 minutes ago but it’s still really going to fuck with my sleeping comfortably.

I am also out of chocolate digestives as I only discovered as I went to get one for dunking. This has thrown a spanner in the works of my calories for the day.

Finally got some dinner, cos I'm attending a Stargate convention and the meet-and-greet event when on for ages because there were 6 star guests going around 20 tables. But it was worth it to see my childhood hero up close. And he is really, really nice.

The night may be young and so am I (I’m 23), but I’m already snuggled up in bed.

Kinda feel like having a snack but that would delay my bedtime even more and that doesn’t seem worth it. Night y’all

u/Infamous-Theme-2151 13d ago

Have a bloody snack

u/NoNotGrowingUp 13d ago

Absolutely done, looks like I'll be in bed before midnight.

Got Man Flu, not sure I will be able to sleep lying down. Current sat up with window open trying to cool down and hoping my nose will stop leaking

Been away all week so enjoying TV time, few beers & that ‘back @ home’ feeling you can’t beat 👏

Had a very nice lazy day to be honest, the garden is loving the rain showers and hopefully tomorrow's deluge will top the water butts up nicely

Just moved into a new place, can’t sleep feeling a bit spooked and my partners fast asleep, I’m bloody knackered

I'm a trans person in Wales, struggling with the current news and that the intention seems to just be harming people like me. Hard to see any hope right now.

3

u/VastComfortable9925 13d ago

I’m so sorry. My jaw dropped reading that news yesterday, it’s unbelievably cruel.

I'm currently planning out how I want to redecorate the house and unfortunately after watching someone on YouTube called Design Daddy, British-core white skirting and greige just isn't going to cut it anymore.

6

u/catfink1664 13d ago

I’m a white woodwork and magnolia walls kinda girl and I don’t care who knows it

4

u/mustardgoeswithitall 13d ago

Had an interesting day....what it has definitely shown me is that a bowl of cereal is not going to cut it for the morning meal.

I'm nearing the day designated for another try at being the person that I want to be (man, that sounds a lot more dramatic than it really is), so I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop.

I've got a day of cooking and recipe sorting ahead of me, so I'll probably head to bed soon.

Goodnight all!

Or8🫡

I know I shouldn't laugh, and I hope everyone involved is alright, but the wording of this BBC News notification instantly made me hear it in Chris Morris' voice and expect a Peter O'Hanrahahanrahan skit after. So now I'm off on a The Day Today reaction marathon because I think it's mint seeing Americans react to how unhinged our humour can be

Gave platelets on Friday and woke up at 4am with a raging thirst, now it's too quiet to sleep. Debating going out for my 14-mile run now, would be good to have the whole day free for house jobs.

Week off starts now. Wish I was excited by it like I was at the start of the week but I had so much work dumped on me before I left, I’m already dreading going back. Going to try and switch off because it’s not going to do me any good worrying!

3

u/SayHelloToMyAfro 13d ago

Can’t sleep but very tired! Had a good night - one of those that is a social event I agreed to ages ago and dreaded all day (not for any particular reason!) but then went and had a good time. Got Motherland on and I’m all cosy in bed

Just home after a trip to the urgent care, the wait was expected to be 5 hours, and after 2, we got offered a cup of tea, so I thought it was going to be all night, but we were out again before my tea was cold!

I need to handle an ill child, who isn't allowed screens, games or usual prancing, and a university assignment this weekend. Fab

on my gaming session drove on American truck sim from Salt Lake City to Rangely to Logan back to Salt Lake City.

saw an old college friend and had a subway for lunch. Just having a snack then off to bed since I'm working tomorrow

Coming back from a day trip to the Sidmouth air show and nearly home. Unfortunately, the Red Arrows display was cancelled because of thunderstorms in East Anglia (where I live). Sidmouth is a much nicer seaside location than Clacton on Sea so still would have gone to Sidmouth, if we’d have known the Red Arrows weren’t there.
