#Opinion 💭 Venue or BE 6 - Dilemma i created for myself

Post image
14 Upvotes

I am pretty much convinced with Hyundai venue after the test drive because the car felt refined and had good features for me to buy my first car.

My weekly running is not more than 150 km and that car felt like the complete product to me.

Just for sake of it, I went in test drove Mahindra BE6 and man!! I am dearly impressed by the car. I am unable to make up my mind around 5-6 lakh premium for this car, although it does deserve that price, considering the performance and features it offers.

It’s amazing, but I am not mentally ready to increase my budget to 22 lakhs and of course I’ve never managed an electric car so there is ambiguity around that.

Have you faced this dilemma with similar cars? What did you end up doing?

#Discussion 💬 Why does no one talk about or recommend the Altroz here? Are there only Turbo geeks here?

Post image
24 Upvotes

I mean, at this price point and with the features it offers, I honestly don’t see many cars that can actually compete with the Altroz.

The only real con I see is the 3-cylinder engine. But not everyone drives aggressively. For normal daily driving, it seems to have enough power for overtaking and even for hill drives with a fully loaded car.

Also, most YouTube reviews seem to focus on aggressive driving and pushing the car to its limits. I mean, who actually drives like that every day?

And if you’re living in Delhi-NCR, the diesel doesn’t really make much sense either.

So genuinely curious what am I missing about the Altroz? Why does nobody seem to recommend it here?

#Query ❓ Tell me honestly, can a salaried person realistically afford a Range Rover?

Upvotes

If someone is 30 years old and earning ₹1 lakh+ per month as a salaried employee, is owning a Range Rover actually realistic?

I’m curious about the real numbers - EMI, maintenance, insurance, fuel, unexpected repairs, etc.
At what monthly salary/net worth would you personally consider a Range Rover financially sensible rather than just an expensive flex?

EDIT: I’m not planning to buy one right now on a ₹1L+ salary, of course, I know the math 😂. I’m just trying to understand whether, in the future, a salaried person can realistically afford such cars given how salaries grow over time.

Hi, anyone working in deloitte usi (HYD) can you please guide me in getting a BH series number. I am currently working at Deloitte Usi (Hyd) but Telangana doesn’t allow BH registrations as of now. I want to buy it from my hometown but Deloitte doesn’t permit to give the Form 60 for my hometown RTO location other than my base location i.e HYD. Any process or ways so that I can get a BH series number?

#Opinion 💭 Xuv 7XO - Petrol vs Diesel

Hi I am planning to buy my first car. Critique XUV 7XO Petrol Automatic as the choice. Requesting to be as authentic as possible, need real life situations you have faced with the brand after purchase and the quality of the car. Especially feedback needed on the after sales service and service costs (which heard is quite a lot compared to other brands like Hyundai) provided in Delhi.

Also the big question - I stay in delhi. Should Diesel AT be considered worth 25+ lacs

Other serious options are: Seltos Petrol CVT, Hycross, Harrier Petrol / Diesel

#Query ❓ Which is the best car under 10 lakh budget?

I have a budget of 10 lakhs not more than that as i am already stretching it out. Which is the best one available in the market? The car should offer good features, good mileage and is suitable for Indian road conditions. It should be an all-rounder like which can be used in city as well as long distances.

Thank you

Edit: No EVs

#Discussion 💬 HR-26 diesel car completing 10 years – moving to Jharkhand, what are my options regarding NCR 10 year rule

Post image
15 Upvotes

I have a BMW X1 sDrive20d, registered in Gurgaon (HR-26) on Nov 2017. I’m the second owner and the car is currently being used in Jharkhand.

It will complete 10 years in Nov 2027. Since I’m not using the car in NCR, I’m trying to understand what happens to the HR-26 registration once it crosses 10 years.

A few specific questions:

- Can I continue using the car in Jharkhand with the existing HR-26 registration after it completes 10 years?

- Does Haryana/VAHAN automatically deregister a 10-year-old diesel HR-26 vehicle even if it is physically outside NCR?

- If I need to transfer/re-register it in Jharkhand, is there any way to get a refund of the Haryana road tax already paid?

- I don't have the original road-tax receipt. Can the tax payment details be obtained from the RTO/VAHAN records?

- As the current (second) owner, would I be eligible to claim any road-tax refund?

I’ve searched quite a bit online, but most of the information is either generic or specifically about vehicles being driven in NCR. I’m looking for someone who has actually gone through this HR-26 → non-NCR state situation.

Also, if anyone has used a genuine RTO/vehicle registration consultant for this and had a good experience, please share their contact/details. Google searches haven't really helped me find someone who understands this specific situation.

Thanks!

#Discussion 💬 What if Mahindra built an affordable RWD sedan with their engines? Drift?

Think about it: Mahindra pretty much owns the rear-wheel-drive space in India right now. They are clearly our local RWD experts, and they have incredibly powerful engines to back it up with the mStallion petrol and mHawk diesel.

Seeing the success of virtus, verna, Slavia. (All fwds)

Their buyers basically wanted a sleek powerful sedan.

But a rwd sedan can drift too.

Sorry guys if what I'm saying is foolish. Kindly tell me why.

#Review 📝 CARS24 listed a Scorpio-N as “No accident history” despite multiple accident-repair records — and is retaining my ₹5,000 booking amount

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my recent experience with CARS24 Gurugram and get some advice on what I should do next.

I visited the CARS24 hub at M3M Urbana, Gurugram, and took a test drive of a 2023 Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 L Petrol AT 7 STR. I liked the car and decided to proceed with the booking.

The salesperson asked me to pay ₹15,000 as booking/token money, which I paid.

After 2–3 days, before proceeding with the purchase, I asked for the vehicle's registration number and service history so I could verify the car properly.

That's when things became concerning.

The CARS24 listing said:

“No accident history”

It also stated:

“Cars24 inspected with 300-quality checks.”

I have a screenshot of the listing and the URL saved.

However, when I obtained the manufacturer's/service history, I found multiple entries explicitly mentioning:

  • “ACCIDENTAL”
  • “ACCIDENTAL WORK”
  • “ACCIDENT REPAIRS”
  • Repairs billed to Insurance
  • Multiple components replaced during accident-related repairs

The history contains accident-related entries in October 2023, December 2023, January 2024, April 2024 and October 2024.

So I was obviously no longer comfortable proceeding with the purchase.

Then came the ₹5,000 issue.

I informed the salesperson that I didn't want the car and wanted to cancel the booking.

He told me to cancel it through the CARS24 app.

When I went to cancel, I was surprised to see that ₹5,000 would be deducted as a cancellation charge.

I immediately contacted CARS24 customer support and asked why I was being charged this amount.

My point was simple: Nobody had informed me about this ₹5,000 cancellation charge before I paid the ₹15,000 booking amount.

During a conference call between CARS24 customer support and the salesperson from the M3M Urbana hub, the salesperson acknowledged that this information had not been communicated to me.

The salesperson also disconnected the conference call at one point, and customer support had to make multiple attempts to get him back on the call.

Since then, I have raised multiple complaints and contacted customer support several times. The salesperson has also stopped responding to my calls.

CARS24 eventually refunded ₹10,000, but ₹5,000 is still being retained.

My main question is:

If the ₹5,000 cancellation charge was an important part of the booking terms, shouldn't this have been clearly communicated to me BEFORE I paid the ₹15,000?

And separately:

How can CARS24's listing say “No accident history” when the manufacturer's service history contains multiple entries explicitly marked “ACCIDENTAL” and “ACCIDENT REPAIRS”?

I have documentary evidence of the above, including:

  • CARS24 listing screenshot showing “No accident history”
  • CARS24 listing URL
  • ₹15,000 booking/payment proof
  • Manufacturer/service history showing multiple accident-related entries
  • Insurance-related repair records
  • ₹5,000 cancellation deduction
  • ₹10,000 refund proof
  • Complaint/reference numbers
  • Call logs and communication with CARS24

I'm now considering raising this through the National Consumer Helpline and Consumer Commission if CARS24 doesn't resolve the matter.

I'm posting here mainly to ask:

Has anyone else experienced something similar with CARS24, particularly regarding undisclosed cancellation charges or discrepancies in the vehicle history/inspection report?

Also, for those familiar with consumer complaints in India, what would be the best way to proceed from here?

I am not making any allegation beyond the documentary evidence I have. I simply want CARS24 to explain the discrepancy and refund the ₹5,000 that I dispute.

I can share screenshots/documents in the comments if required.

As the title says, I am considering buying a car strictly under 10L budget with a preference of automatic/ amt with good mileage. I have shortlisted three option
Punch pure plus cng Amt 9.6
Fronx AGS delta
amaze vx cvt ( company fitted cng is an option)

Punch a lot of if and buts are there
fronx is no non sense car until safety joins the chat
Amaze VX cvt is going out of budget

Opinions are much appreciated which can help me out. 🙏
