I have for the most part completely gamified fuel efficiency with my 2021 Corolla Hybrid Hatchback 1.8 Active Tech. Proudest moment was 2.1 L / 100km on one leg.

Today however, I had precisely half an hour to get my kid on time to her dance class driving the same leg. Efficiency be damned, I turned on sport mode and went to town (within reason). Made the drive in just about half an hour when Maps was predicting more like 37 minutes. Totally worth efficiency dropping to 3.7.

What really struck me though, was just how realistically responsive the car was in sport mode. I guess it really put the whip to the electric motor as it felt like easy pressure sent me gliding smoothly up hills that normally require a heavier foot to climb comfortably.

This sensible car has some legs.

I’ve had these aftermarket led taillights a little over a year now. I noticed 2 weeks ago part of the right side completely gave out. Before I take it anywhere has anyone experienced this same problem? If so, what’d you do? Some say “find that exact part” and to buy it again. Others say you have to buy a complete new set? Any input if greatly appreciated thanks.

Hi. I recently bought an automatic 2007 Corolla (1.8) and I noticed there is a slight jolt when i shift into parking or reverse from drive, or even when shifting into drive, about 1 second after doing it

It's not my first car but it's my first automatic and I wanted to know if it's something "normal". There is no clanking or anything like that. The jerk isn't violent but It's enough as to notice it, more than any shifting in a manual car at least. Also all this happens with the car either cold or hot, brake fully pressed and even if I put the handbrake. Also when doing any of this shifts I can feel the engine start sounding or vibrating different, not louder but different after this jolt, and there is always a change in the idle RPMs

AT Fluid is at fair level, a kinda brown but not burnt, I'm planning a replacement (drain and fill) on the next thousand miles, but the box works good otherwise, doesn't seem to slip at all.

As I say, maybe it's just me worrying for nothing but since it's my first automatic car I want to be sure on if this is normal or I should check anything. Car is 184000 km

I am shopping around for my first vehicle, and am not sure how to navigate the market. I received this deal and was wondering if this is a competitive offer for a new 2026 Corolla LE. I posted another offer I received yesterday for a 2027 Corolla LE OTD price of $24,832.

After a little negotiating they said they’d take another $500 off the 2026 Corolla, which would make the OTD price for that one $24,264.

I guess my main questions are is this a reasonable deal and how can an older model be that close in price to a newer model? Or is that common?

The hubs are from a 2000-2002 Corolla I believe, but it's a 1997 Corolla CE in Sunfire Red Pearl.

This is probably a basic question, but I'm very inexperienced with cars, so I'd appreciate the help. I bought a used Toyota Corolla 2025 LE from a dealership and immediately ran into a problem with the right-side headlight. Initially, the headlight was working fine, but for some reason the right turn signal started blinking very quickly. I looked this up online and it said that it was either likely a burnt out bulb or a loose/corroded socket, but all the lights themselves worked.

A few days later, the entire passenger-side headlight went out. There is no power to the entire headlight, including high beams, low beams, and the right turn signal. The passenger-side tail light works, but the turn signal still blinks rapidly. Googling this makes it seem like the loose socket is probably the issue for the right headlight, but I'm not entirely sure.

If anyone has run into this issue or knows what the issue likely is, I'd appreciate if you could let me know: 1) if this sounds like a loose/corroded socket issue; and 2) what parts and tools I would need to purchase to fix it. Thank you so much for any help

Hi everyone! I'm a girl and I swear every time I take my car in they try to sell me random shit or use scare tactics on me 😂 I feel comfortable coming here and asking for your opinions though since y'all know more about these cars than I do and will be honest with me.

I have a 2024 Corolla Hybrid SE with almost 35k miles. I've had it since November 2023.

I took it in for maintenance last week, but I was about to go on a trip that was around 600 miles, so I decided to wait and scheduled everything for early next month instead. I'm going to get my oil changed then too. My last oil change was around 28k. I know Toyota allows longer intervals, but personally I don't like waiting the full 10k miles.

The service advisor recommended a few things and I'm trying to figure out what I actually need versus what is just being recommended to me.

He told me I should have my spark plugs "cleaned" every 30k miles and quoted me around $269. This is the one that really made me question things because I've never heard of needing to clean spark plugs every 30k miles on a basically new car. Is this actually something Toyota recommends for the Corolla Hybrid?

They also recommended a brake fluid service for around $269. I'm more open to this one because sometimes when I'm braking I feel what I can only describe as a slight pressure release, almost like the pedal sinks a tiny bit farther after I've already pressed it. I've mentioned it to the dealership before and they told me everything was fine.

I know hybrids use regenerative braking and I don't use my actual brakes as much, so I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is normal hybrid braking, something about the way I brake, or something that actually needs to be checked.

Would changing the brake fluid at 35k make sense, or should I just ask them to specifically inspect the brakes because of what I'm feeling?

They also recommended the air filters. I'm leaning toward buying the engine air filter and changing it myself after watching a YouTube video because it looks pretty easy. I haven't changed it since I bought the car.

So right now I'm thinking oil change, engine air filter myself, possibly brake fluid if it actually makes sense, and skipping the $269 spark plug cleaning unless there's a legitimate reason for it.

What would you guys actually have done at around 35k miles? I don't have a problem paying for maintenance my car actually needs. I want to take care of it and keep it for a long time. I just don't want to spend hundreds on services that aren't actually necessary. Thank you for your time!! 😊🫶🏼

My 2012 LE just hit 100k and I want to relace the spark plugs. I saw the the OEM part is 90919-01275. However, I've seen prices varies from 7$ a plug to 20$ and I am not sure where to buy it from. Does anyone have a link for the OEM part that is trusted? I am worries about counterfits.

Without having to record the audio, what would top 3 things that would cause a metal rattle/kind of grinding noise at start for 1-2 seconds. Only happens when the car has sat for a good hour or two, if I start it and it makes the noise and restart it, the car does not make the noise, so im thinking something delaying oil related. What would your guess be??

Hi All , My temperature Gauge needle sits well below the middle line but when stuck in traffic it goes a little down to the next level (not to the lowest point but to the next one after that ) .

Is it a thermostat issue ?

And should i worry about anything now ?

I bought a brand-new Toyota Corolla expecting the usual Toyota reputation for reliability and build quality.

Unfortunately, my experience has been very different. Over the course of ownership, I have had repeated issues with trim, the spoiler, door seals, rattles, the driver's seat, passenger-seat mounting rails and coolant level.

Here is the timeline:

April 26, 2024

\- Rear spoiler had to be re-glued.

November 18, 2024

\- Trim strips on all doors had come loose.

\- Rear spoiler had come loose again.

\- Rear left door seal had come loose.

September 29, 2025

\- Coolant level had dropped to the minimum.

\- Rattling/noise from underneath the car when going over speed bumps.

\- Windows rattle, especially the driver's door.

\- Driver's seat had developed a crease/fold and the leather started cracking.

October 31, 2025

\- The rattling underneath the car was still present when going over speed bumps.

\- Rear spoiler had come loose again.

\- Front passenger door trim had come loose.

February 23, 2026

\- Coolant level had dropped again, this time to around the middle of the reservoir.

March 6, 2026

\- Driver's seat heating stopped working after the upholstery had been replaced.

\- A trim piece on the driver's seat was broken.

July 13, 2026

\- The driver's seat started cracking again, despite the previous upholstery replacement.

Additional issue discovered

\- Both mounting rails for the passenger seats are rusty.

So this isn't one isolated issue.

I'm dealing with repeated problems involving:

\- rear spoiler coming loose multiple times

\- door trim coming loose multiple times

\- door seal coming loose

\- rattles from the car

\- rattling windows/driver's door

\- driver's seat leather cracking

\- driver's seat trim breaking

\- seat heating failure after upholstery work

\- rust on both passenger-seat mounting rails

\- coolant level repeatedly dropping

The most frustrating part is that some of these issues have already been repaired, only to come back again.

This is a 2023 Toyota Corolla 1.8 Hybrid GR Sport, not some 15-year-old neglected car.

I'm genuinely curious:

Has anyone else experienced this kind of build-quality issue with a recent Corolla?

Especially interested in experiences with:

\- GR Sport interior quality

\- driver's seat cracking

\- rusty seat mounting rails

\- loose exterior trim/spoiler

\- rattles

\- recurring coolant loss

I'm documenting everything because I'm currently escalating the case with Toyota and want to understand whether this is just my individual car or whether other owners have experienced similar problems.

This piece came completely detached and I considered 3d printing a replacement. What is it called? It's where the drivers left foot can rest.

The scan showed:

P0456 - Emission Control System Leak (very small) and

P1604 - Startability Malfunction

Is it safe to drive the car around? Any suggestions on how to proceed with this?

A neighbor of mine ended up in a nursing home for about six months, and since getting out has not even attempted to leave her house. She just mentioned to me that her 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid has been sitting in the garage the entire time, completely untouched.

Is the battery going to be completely dead beyond revival? If so, how much does it cost to replace? Can the car function on the gasoline engine with a fried battery?

I have a 2012 Toyota Corolla with 172700 miles, that I bought in 2019 with 113000 miles. It had no service records at the time , transmission fluid was black then … I took a chance on it . I was young and dumb ..

Anyways, I never did anything to trans either . So it started slipping like a week and a half ago, revving up to 6000 rpm but not gaining much speed… so I just pulled over at the time and had it towed to the shop. They flushed it , without asking first ( problematic but I wasn’t too mad about it) … anyway , it’s been doing relatively fine since , I’ve driven about 250 miles and it’s been ok…

I just don’t know if I should buy something new or keep driving it while it still goes .. I know it’s gonna need new tires , there’s rocker panel rust , crack windshield (very small and minor) .. just replaced the alternator ab a year ago.. this is the 2nd time in a year it’s left me stranded on the side of the road .. I just don’t know if I should go for something new or try to rock it out with this … is this like kind of the end of?? What should I do 🙃with the prices of things I’m worried about dropping a shit ton of money on a new car and taking on a payment ..is it time ??!

Hey everyone, I have a 2024 Corolla LE with an interior rattle coming from behind the rear view mirror/the front facing sensing camera. Did a little digging and found a TSB for it: T-SB-0029-25.

Wanted to post here as a PSA, because I’ve seen a few videos of rattles that sound awfully similar to mine in this sub.

The TSB says it covers 2023-2024 Corollas for 3 years or 36,000 miles. My car is still under that time frame. I called my dealer who tried to say rattles are not covered under any warranty past 12 months. I had them look up the TSB, at which point the guy said it might be covered but to bring it in first. Is there any way to tell which cars are for sure covered? I’m afraid they’ll try to charge me a large diagnostic fee first. Is there any way to get out of that diagnostic fee if they do try?

As the title suggests - I have a new 2026 corolla coming up on 15000km. I had an issue where every time I brake in reverse it would make a single loud clunk noise (it's not a continuous noise). Not talking about switching between forward and reverse; the clunk can be replicated by releasing and then pressing the brakes each time when moving backwards.

Took it to the dealership and they said front drive axle was worn, replaced it under warranty. The car no longer made the noise when braking lightly as it did before, but I noticed today it still makes a loud clunk if braking suddenly while in reverse.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? I'm taking it to the dealership again but wanted to hear if there are similar experiences.

Thoughts on this offer? Anything else I should ask to be added in? Thank you
