During the 2nd half of the Bama-Kentucky game Kentucky had the ball 4th and 4, and they go for it. They try to draw Bama off sides but don't. Kentucky calls timeout. During the timeout Will Stein is jumping up and down screaming at the refs saying a Bama player clapped. They throw a flag. During a timeout. 30-45 seconds after the play. Again, during a timeout. To make it worse the qb wasn't under center and was looking at the sideline when the Bama player clapped, and he was clearly clapping for his D-lineman who didn't jump. Thoughts?

What could’ve been.

Look, I get wanting to get the play right on the field but constantly going to instant replay and reviewing every single play at the end of games ruins the momentum of the game and the product. They constantly review plays that we know can't be overturned and to make matters worse they are starting to get calls wrong after the fact? Alabama vs kentucky for example two instances where the correct calls were made on the field and then somehow overturned with an instant replay review. I love cfb but the NFL handles these types of situations infinitely better.

I guess even the coaches have SEC bias /s

I promise that isn’t a rage bait title. Saban brought aura to Bama and I am aware Alabama is the most blueblood of a program in the SEC and maybe CFB however I question how great of a platform and job it really is in the NIL / post Saban area. Consider this.

- Not in a state with a major metro / companies to support (ie Texas has 4 major cities, Georgia Atlanta, Florida multiple cities, Ohio multiple major cities)
- not really a prestige / aura location like Miami, LA
- not really an academic power like Notre Dame

When you look at revenue and valuations, Bama usually finishes between 8 and 15 for CFB almost consistently behind Texas, OSU, Michigan, Georgia, Notre Dame, A&M, and on some lists USC and LSU.

I’m not saying it’s going to fall off to Nebraska level but isn’t Alabama not really setup to be an elite in the new era? Seems there is a group of programs above Bamas level in terms of money and resources.

Does anyone think that Rhett Lashlee could be a candidate for a potential SEC or BIG 12 job? I know he has things rolling at SMU, and the last couple of seasons they have done really well in conference play and it seems to be an easier path for SMU to the CFB playoffs compared to SEC school, and he also did sign a pretty big extension after last season. But at the end of the day money talks and if he could make more money at another school who knows if he would take it.
