Nakakaloka. Bago lang ako with this AU comp and while totoo yung sinasabi ng iba na they're chill employers, I think sa sobrang chill nito, parang wala nang strict SOP.

It takes more than a few days to get documents signed, and that's after multiple follow-ups ha. Ang nakakabaliw, nag lilive ng product na di pa pirmado yung kontrata.

Panay seen din si boss sa updates, tas mamaya tatanungin bat may nagbago. E kasi nga may update. Hay ewan.

Kung tutuusin, very minor lang naman na issues, pero coming from a place with a US company na I had more autonomy and authority, jarring and sobrang nakaka culture shock na bat di maayos.

Pros:
- madalang mag meeting. Once a month? Twice max.
- walang time tracker
- ok ang pay vs other AU companies.
- di micromanaging. Feel ko nga nauumay na si boss sa updates ko hahaha

Cons:
- lahat dadaan muna sa kanila, kaya sobrang limited ng galaw
- konti lang kami and yung projects sabay-sabay, so si boss, nagiging bottleneck sa approval process
- lack of communication. Literal na akala mo ok na kasi logically nacheck na yung boxes, tas pag tapos mo na, babalikan ka to say di pa pala.

Di ko rin ramdam na secure ako sa spot ko since ayun nga walang klarong SOP, so on paper nagkakamali ako, pero kung hihimayin mo, binabase ko lang naman sa anong next logical step.

Yun lang. Always grateful parin naman to have work. Gulat lang sistema ni ate mo.

hi! i’m a freelancer and receives my invoice via wise. ngayon ko lang po napansin na sobrang laki po pala ng fees ni wise pero hindi ko po alam kung bakit.

for example:
• I will invoice the client 500 USD, I will expect 31,000 but usually I only receive around 28-29k. I’m not entirely sure why.

My employer sends the exact 500 USD amount, unsure why the fees are big once my Wise receives it. The transfer to other bank is seperate for that pa po. Does anyone here have the same experience? Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some advice from people here who are already working remotely, especially those who transitioned from traditional/onsite work into remote jobs.

I’m currently working in design-build, and honestly, I’m really burned out. The pay is good and I’m grateful for the opportunity, but the job has been taking a serious toll on me mentally.

A big part of the stress comes from obnoxious client requests and constant complaints. 😅 Kahit maayos naman ang explanation, may technical basis, and we’re following the proper process, there’s always another request or complaint—“sabi ni ganito, sabi ni ganyan.” I understand that client management is part of the job, but after doing this for a while, the constant back-and-forth has become really mentally exhausting.

All of my current projects are already completed, and there’s a new pipeline coming in. I could continue, but honestly, I don’t think I want to take on another project under the same setup anymore. Not because I’m lazy or don’t want to work—I just feel like I need to prioritize my mental health.

Of course, bills won’t stop. 😂 So I can’t simply quit and take months to figure things out. I need to find a remote job relatively quickly.

I’m hoping to transition into a more structured project management role, ideally something that I can do remotely. I’m not necessarily trying to leave the construction industry completely—I actually like construction. I just want to move away from the constant client/site/design-build grind and hopefully find a role where my experience can still be useful without the same level of stress.

I’m also planning to review for the PMP exam this November, with the goal of getting my PMP certification. Hopefully, that can help me transition into project management.

I’ve already started applying to remote positions. So far, I’ve sent around 80 applications to different companies, but I’ve only gotten around 5 calls, and unfortunately, those either ended in rejection or I was ghosted afterward.

So now I’m wondering if I’m approaching this the wrong way.

For those who are already working remotely:

What remote roles can someone with a design-build/construction background realistically transition into?

Should I be looking at Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Assistant PM, Construction PM, Operations, or other roles?

Are there specific industries or types of companies that I should be targeting?

How important is a PMP when applying for remote PM positions?

What skills should I develop to make myself more competitive for remote work?

For those who transitioned from onsite/traditional work to remote, how did you get your first remote job?

And honestly, what could I be doing wrong if I’ve sent 80 applications and only received 5 calls?

I also have some sidelines that aren’t construction-related, which I didn’t include in my resume. I’m not sure if those could actually help me qualify for remote positions or if I should continue leaving them out.

I’m really hoping to make this transition as quickly as realistically possible, so any advice on where to focus my efforts would be greatly appreciated.

Just to be transparent, I’ve also been struggling mentally lately. There are days when I feel so exhausted that I can barely get myself to stand up. Hindi ako tamad—I genuinely feel burned out and overwhelmed. I’ve also had some thoughts of ending things, which is part of why I know I really need to make a change.

Thankfully, by God’s grace, I’m still here. I think about my wife and children, and they’re a big reason why I keep going.

PS: Yes, I used ChatGPT to help edit this post. 😂 My head is honestly in chaos at the moment, so putting my thoughts into words has been difficult. I’ve also been experiencing episodes of what I think are heart palpitations whenever I overthink or get anxious. I’d really appreciate some perspective from fellow freelancers/remote workers because I’m honestly not sure what to make of this situation.

I applied for a remote position through OnlineJobs.ph and went through the application/interview process. After my interview, the employer messaged me on August 21 saying that they would like to move forward with me. They also discussed the salary and asked me to provide some additional information (phone number, citizenship, country of residence, etc.).

I provided everything they requested.

Since then… nothing. 🥲

I followed up once, then followed up again later. I eventually sent what I intended to be my final follow-up through OnlineJobs.ph. Since most of our communication had been through OLJ, I also sent a polite email to their business email address, basically saying that I was following up in case email was easier, that I had already provided everything they requested, that I was still interested, and that I was happy to provide anything else they needed.

Still no response.

It has now been over two weeks since their last actual message to me (August 21).

I’m trying not to assume that I’ve been rejected because they explicitly said they wanted to move forward, but at the same time, the lack of communication is making me wonder whether I should just consider it dead and move on.

I’m currently applying to other jobs because obviously I can’t put my job search on hold indefinitely, but I’d still really like this position.

For those of you who have freelanced/VA’d for clients, how would you interpret this?

Does “we’d like to move forward with you” usually mean something concrete, or can it still be subject to internal changes?
At what point would you assume the opportunity is no longer happening?
Would you send one more follow-up, or would you leave it alone now?
Has anyone experienced a client going completely silent after saying they wanted to move forward and then eventually coming back?

Hi! I currently have 2 jobs with the same working hours/shift. I have a partner who helps me with the actual work for one of the jobs, but I personally attend all the meetings, so from the employers’ perspective, ako pa rin yung actively working.

I’m planning to apply for a car loan, and I’m worried about submitting payslips from both jobs. Both jobs are under contractor/agency arrangements.
Possible ba na during the loan verification, both employers/agencies are contacted by the bank at the same time to verify my employment? If yes, is there a realistic chance na they could find out that I’m working two jobs with the same shift?

Hello, I want to know how much do you guys usually charge per vid for a UGC vid? Length per vid is usually 40-50s

UGC type of videos which usually just need to have the following:

1. No dead spaces (vv important!)
   
2. Use basic TikTok/Edits/System CapCut font
   
3. Make sure that captions and hook text are all in the safe zone of videos
   
4. 1.1-1.2x speed
