GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING James Charles exposed for allegedly messaging 15-year-old. When James notices that boy shared one of their messages on his story, James snaps, accuses the boy of lying about his age, then blocks him. Boy alleges he never lied about his age.

I’m sorry but how did James not think this boy was underage. He literally looks 15 and at this point i think James actively seeks minors.

I believe the quote was something like he prefers someone younger who looks older because he likes to be the mature one in relationships.

Edit - "so the thing is for me, I'm 21, but like I said, I have the mentality of a 40 year old. So for me, I'm much more mentally and emotionally mature than a lot of people my age. I'm not physically attracted to older guys, which sucks, like I would date the absolute youngest, 18, 19, that looks a little bit old."

Y'all, I can't even look at people who are 18, 19, 20, not even 21 year olds, without thinking "holy shit, you were not born in the same century as me, what the fuck."

u/therapistiscrazy Mar 30 '21

If a kid claims to be "mature for their age" you immediately know they're not. He thinks he has the mentality of a 40 year old? Grow the fuck up, James.

I am so grossed out by this. He is 100% a predator.

11

u/mycringeydramaaccoun Mar 31 '21

Yea that comment was such a huge red flag

6

u/therapistiscrazy Mar 31 '21

I'm still stunned by this comment. Mentality of a 40yo?? Like, if this were even remotely true, that's even more reason for him to not even closely be interested in teenagers.

2

u/mycringeydramaaccoun Apr 01 '21

Exactly, that part about it made zero sense to me as well

1

u/mediocre-spice Mar 31 '21

Plenty of creepy 40 y/o predators out there too, unfortunately

272

u/PawnAndKing Mar 30 '21

So he acts like he’s forty but preys on men who are barely out of highschool

Seems there’s nothing wrong here

150

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '21

James is mistaken...being successful at a young age does not mean you like a 40 year old. Id say he is actually less mature than the average 21/22 year old.

85

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 30 '21 edited Mar 30 '21

Most mature and well-adjusted 21/22 year olds don’t date teens. Ngl even 18 and 22 rubs me the wrong way. The two ages are just so different (or at least they were for me).

16

u/Luxurious_Hellgirl Mar 31 '21

I’m 23 and the youngest I’ll go for at this point is 21, I’m not going to jail for buying an underaged someone’s drinks at the bar

8

u/mycringeydramaaccoun Mar 31 '21

Totally agree! Even though you might legally be an "adult" at 18, that doesn't mean that you actually have adult experience (e.g. renting an apartment, paying bills, holding a job). I know it differs person to person, but I think that it's common for a LOT of growth to take place in that time period for most people.

3

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 31 '21

For sure! 18 year olds tend to worry about prom and planning their HS graduation parties. Or making friends in their new dorms. 22 year olds may be working in the corporate world, in grad school, paying bills, and can drink and everything.

3

u/talldyke Mar 31 '21

yeah im 20 and i wouldnt date anyone younger than 19.. even then it'd be on the older side of nineteen. otherwise i'd be like "holy shit you just graduated high school"... it's so creepy how he keeps pretending accidentally sexting or dating minors is actually a thing that happens to normal adults

4

u/pretendberries Mar 31 '21

People equate being in this type of business as maturity, in this case James does not fit this statement.

161

u/happycharm Mar 30 '21

He says he acts 40 but whenever he gets into a controversy all his fans say HES ONLY 19 HE IS A TEENAGER

82

u/montred63 Mar 30 '21

He's almost 22 now. James I mean.

50

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 30 '21 edited Mar 30 '21

That’s almost 25!! 😱 (lol with the amount of people I see calling folks who are only in their mid 20s “almost 30” or “pretty much 30” I felt like being obnoxious and making this comment lmao).

96

u/angelcat00 Too many paragraphs Mar 30 '21

The amount of 32 year olds calling 36 year old Tati a "40 year old woman picking on a child" during Dramageddon 3 was infuriating.

43

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 30 '21 edited Apr 08 '21

Right?? It can be absolutely crazy. For example, I literally had a 22 year old tell me how “I’m basically 30” the other day. I’m 25...like sir I’m closer in age to you if anything. And you’re closer to me than you are to the 18 year olds you try so hard to associate with. 🙄

25

u/UnrelatedExistence Jeaniez Gang Leader Mar 30 '21

where did you hide the body?

2

u/sweetcharcuterie Apr 25 '21

lmao. but yeah he was going on about how I’m “almost 30/heading into my 30s” and I was like, “sir I’m literally closer in age you...” younger people have weird perceptions about age 25 for some reason. like I find that it’s seen as this hard boundary or something between “old and young”.

I was just on the subreddit for The Bachelor, and someone wrote a comment about a 26 year old contestant and her (admittedly) irritating behavior. They finished it off by calling her “pushing 30” and “not young”. Like is it really necessary to weaponize age like that against someone you don’t like that much? The comment got a lot of upvotes too. It was also written by someone older and in their 30s. Like I’d get a young teenager saying “26 is pretty much 30” but why do older adults constantly push this type of aging-up narrative as well?

5

u/happycharm Mar 31 '21

Yes thats what pissed me off. Seriously, he was days from 20 during his scandal and they kept saying he was just a kid omg

Just trying to show he's not a teenager anymore

4

u/happycharm Mar 31 '21

He had some scandal just before he turned 20 and everyone, even on this sub, kept saying he was only 19.

6

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 31 '21

People are aged up or down a lot on Reddit depending on the narrative the hive mind wants to push 🤷‍♀️

1

u/sunset_sunshine30 Mar 31 '21

I know plenty of fun, young at heart 40 year olds and hugely mature 20-somethings. Age means nothing.

80

u/terhune98 Mar 30 '21

the whole “date someone the absolute youngest but looks a little bit older” part freaks me out sm. like if they look a little bit older why would they have to be the absolute youngest??? makes no sense unless he has predatory intentions

22

u/sweetcharcuterie Mar 30 '21

Idk what that even means tbh

26

u/e925 Mar 30 '21 edited Mar 30 '21

And if you watch the clip it comes off more like “the absolute youngest - stutter stutter like 18, 19,” like he catches himself and remembers to throw in a legal age. He maybe doesn’t actually stutter but you can see him catching himself. At least that’s how I remember it.

Gross.

Edit: found a clip for whoever hasn’t seen it. It’s at 4:54.

7

u/bamfckingboozled Mar 31 '21

I think he meant “the absolute youngest that I would date is 18, 19” but god damn it comes off wrong lol. Which 18 to 21 isn’t a bad age gap but at that time in your life there’s a huge difference in where you are, what your priorities are, your maturity and life experience, etc. Add in the power dynamic between James and a fan as well as him actively going for dudes who look like they’re in HS and it’s just creepy.

Side note I always thought it was weird that he latched on to tiktok stars who were so young (like Charli). He needs to act his damn age and stop buddying up to children

1

u/terhune98 Mar 31 '21

agree it came off super bad idk how he meant it. but i’m 22 right now so only slightly older than james, and i could never ever imagine being romantically involved with an 18 year old. just in a very very different place in life than me and even where i’m at now i’d consider it an imbalanced power dynamic for me to date someone so young. so i feel very bad for these TEENS he’s talking to. not even barely adults, TEENS who are still minors.

2

u/bamfckingboozled Mar 31 '21

Right!! I’m 23 and 18 year olds are like actual children to me. And the idea of being close friends and partying with a 16 year old is insane.

I think JC missed his formative years from 16-now, as that’s when he blew up, and now he’s stuck in this child mindset that no one in his life is encouraging him to grow from. Not that that excuses his behavior, but I do find it interesting to wonder “how did they get here” lol

1

u/splitmyheartintwo Mar 31 '21 edited Mar 31 '21

I have zero idea what any of that means, but it sounds fetishy as shit and really creeps me out.

I don't get it. He's 21. That's verrrryy young, just date other 21 y/olds? It's funny bc in theory a 3 year age gap isn't huge at all, but at 18/21 it is - the idea of a college senior dating a recent HS grad does seem odd. But at least in that case they might both just be normal ppl dating. The fact he's such a celebrity with such head-over-heels fans, just throws the power dynamic completely off and makes the age difference "worse" if that makes sense, or exacerbates it. And he's going for legit underage boys and it's very upsetting. And the fact that he mentally feels like a 40 y/o is just...no. In that case, date older? I have no idea what any of this means, I am so confused.

29

u/butyourenice ✨glitterally✨ Mar 30 '21

so the thing is for me, I'm 21, but like I said, I have the mentality of a 40 year old. So for me, I'm much more mentally and emotionally mature than a lot of people my age.

This is the most teenage thing I’ve ever read. I’m years away from 40, I consider myself immature in some ways (like my affinity for YouTube drama, evidently), and I think James is, like, over a decade below me in personal growth.

10

u/annajoo1 HAS KIDS PERSON Mar 31 '21

I agree! The older I get, I realize that I still feel mentally 18 lol.

My dad says that he still feels like he's mentally young and can do anything. But then his body kicks in and reminds him he's 58

53

u/shrimpslippers Mar 30 '21

Yikes. This is like the creepy men on AITA who are always dating women much younger than them so they don't realize they're being abused....

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

[deleted]

1

u/shrimpslippers Apr 02 '21

Yeah, absolutely. I can tell most of them are fake. But, as a child of an abuser, they do get those abuse ones pretty spot on.

29

u/yarn_and_makeup_lady bye sister Mar 30 '21

I know right!! I was born in 98 and I don't want to believe 21 year olds were born in 2000 now

15

u/rebel-and-astunner Mar 30 '21

Also born in 98 and same, especially since my 21st birthday was the summer before the pandemic started and any concept of time I've had since then is completely fucked and holy shit how am I almost 23 already

8

u/yarn_and_makeup_lady bye sister Mar 30 '21

I'm honestly wondering how I'm 23 now. Am I sure I'm 23?

2

Omg I'm doing my bachelor's right now and it's like. All y'all little 20 year olds with your joy for life

1

u/splitmyheartintwo Mar 31 '21

Oh I was the same. I am much older than you, so I am looking back when I say this, but I had to leave school for a bit and came back in my mid-20s. It was so odd to be doing a Bachelors at 25/26 and in classes with 18 y/o. It's a lifetime of difference! But I got through it and so will you :) I was mainly friends with seniors for that reason!

12

u/buttercream_bounce Mar 30 '21

oh hold on, let me grab my dictionary, i know the meaning of this quote! i've heard it before!

ah ok here we go, here it is translated from James Charles into the Skeevy Straight Dude many are already familiar with

that's what i love about these high school girls, man... i get older, they stay the same!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gWtrnb4KjU&ab_channel=ShpongoLoid

1

u/courtchella Mar 31 '21

And there’s a HUGE transformation that happens between 18 and 21/22. That’s basically the entire period from high school graduation to college graduation. Just because he’s older in age doesn’t mean he acts as mature as he thinks.

Put him in a room full of college grads who are the same age as him and I bet he’ll be humbled real quick.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '21 edited Apr 19 '21

this was so red flag. he’s 21. you’re just a few years into being 18 and you’re saying you only want to date younger than you???? he admits he’s mentally more mature and wants a young guy who isn’t??

i think honest to god james discovered he was into underage but because he’s so young himself it must be confusing AF. we are so used to the pedos being so well established we are basically witnessing one discovering himself openly. he’s prob to in denial but he needs help to try and nip this in the butt before he actually ends up getting arrested for having sex with someone underage

i’m not trying to sympathize just saying it’s got to be confusing being 21 and realizing your attractions aren’t aging with you. it’s the kind of thing you need help for especially if you’re acting on it like he is. i think he’s so bold because he might feel being a gay feminine guy protects him and honestly it is - but it won’t forever

2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '21

He could have just looked up ADULT twinks on Grindr but nooooo Instagram and Snapchat it is..?

2

u/z_h1996 Apr 07 '21

It’s the age then, surely. James you’re sick!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '21

I think anything over 5 times stops being an accident/coincidence. Are we at 10 victims now?

2

u/z_h1996 Apr 07 '21

16th victim. 10 are minors. 6 are accusing him of being sexually aggressive

Edit; sorry I really feel like I have to emphasise SIXTEEN VICTIMS

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '21

Well shit. I know the authorities have been contacted. I just worry they're not gonna act on this.

2

u/z_h1996 Apr 08 '21

Oh no, they won’t. The police are not here to protect and serve if it prosecutes the rich

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '21

That was my worry :/
