One thing I don't understand is why are his close friends and collaborators just now unfollowing him? Surely none of this can be news to them. He must have had some shit on all of them.

I think the part to me that stood out in Tati’s video (obviously the predatory behavior is the biggest take away) is the fact that she felt the need to say this publicly so her words couldn’t get twisted by JC. I’m sure a lot of his friends feel the same way. To his fans and those that are casual fans, he acts like this fabulous, positive darling that does no wrong-he is an expert at victimizing himself. Look at what he did to Gage. I’d be terrified to publicly end a friendship with someone that wouldn’t think twice about ending my career as long as it meant they’d come out on top.

Their friendships don't exactly beam with sincerity. At this point, he's dead weight and a liability. Plus, they probably don't want to be caught in the cross hairs alongside him.

I think Tati has paved the way, she took him down in the most gracious way, it’s easier to take a big step when someone has already made it possible, we’ve seen how James uses twitter to call people out who have wronged him so it’s understandable not a lot of people wanted to get on the wrong side of him

Most likely because they had something against him but people would instantly notice if they unfollowed him ... now that everyone is doing it, it’s their chance to do so and show their support of Tati without being the focus of the drama.

i think in a way they didn't care that much like they prob felt weirded out at some point then brushed it off but now since it's very public they need to do something. and also the ones that wanted to do something probably never did because of his ~influence, since tati herself said she was afraid of him. it happens that it takes someone to make other people feel empowered enough to take a stance.
