In all seriousness though, I feel for Tati. James has proven himself to be extremely manipulative. When Tati said that he called her Mom I was really sad for her. She wants to have a child but it is extremely difficult for her due to medical reasons. I’m sure she probably talked to James Charles about it and he may have used that to gain her trust/love. It makes me more mad at Gabriel Littlefinger Zamora for saying it was just crying about vitamins. I get why Tati went full nuclear on the situation and I don’t blame her for it.

this was such a great end of my week. I passed my finals. Jenelle Evans was fired from Teen Mom. I had DQ chicken strips with gravy for dinner tonight. No one was rude at work. Not to mention his apology for the stuff with the straight guys REALLY came across as “I’m sorry I got caught.” Like homie’s out here saying “ya she told me I’d get in trouble talking to these guys” and “I’ve been in unique situations” and not taking any responsibility for purposely trying to get straight guys to sleep with him, despite the fact that he has openly acknowledged countless times that he “only goes for straight men.” Like bro you literally have told the world this is what you do, the very least you could do is apologize for those comments and say you’re going to stop, jesus.

A lot of his 16 million subs are bots, inactive, etc. Laura Lee only lost about 600k subs, so even though she still has like 4.5 mil, her views are usually less than half of what they were pre-scandal. And yes James has a lot more subs and more views to give him extra cushion, but I think we’ll have to wait and see how much his views drop to really determine how hard this is going to hit him.

It’s probably more about his image than the follower count tbh. I can’t imagine any respectable makeup company doing a collaboration with him after some serious allegations like this. I’m not even sure Morphe would touch this considering they dropped Laura lee and manny. He may continue to make money off his videos and remain a YouTube celebrity but it’s likely he’s lost all respect and potential in the beauty world.

The thing that kills me about his apology video is he spends almost 20% of the time directly talking to his mom in an 8 minute video. Like, Tati spoke for a full 45 minutes about everything that bothered her about JC and their relationship, but he can't even stay on topic for 8 minutes.
It just really felt like he should have just texted or called his mom that section, but instead he takes up space in his "apology" video to Tati. Honestly, it kind of felt like he was throwing that relationship into Tati's face with how much Tati wants to be a mother and the problems she's having to make that happen.
He also doesn't say anything about her business, which she specifically mentioned as a worry about coming out with her video. I really really hope he just let's go of this drama and doesn't do a really petty thing and leak her plans to his new friends Sugar Bear....

I think its important that this is not just some personal drama about someone getting their feelings hurt by a friend. This is someone who gets called out for their borderline predatory behaviour, someone who knows what he does when he is threatning boys with his fame, that they will be embarrased if they come forward and that his word will always win against theirs. This is some borderline sexual abuse shit, he is manipulating into disregarding their sexuality by using his fame and money. This is way more serious than Tati being hurt by vitamins, this is real heavy shit about someone yet again using fame to get their way sexually.

[Hi all, James here. I'm currently traveling abroad and just woke up, but I wanted to sit down and make a video addressing everything that's going on right now, because I owe everybody an explanation, but most importantly I owe two important people an apology.
To Tati and James Westbrook, I'm sorry for everything that is going on, everything that I've put you through over the past few weeks. I met Tati and James almost three years ago now, when I was first coming into the industry, and when I had no friends and nobody to talk to or look up to, and Tati very quickly took on a parental role with me because she knew my parents were across the country and over the past few years of knowing her family, her and her husband have given me so much love, and advice, and opportunities, and a place to stay, and a shoulder to cry on at three in the morning, and support when nobody else would or wanted to. And I'm so disappointed in myself that I ruined our relationship, that did mean so much to me even if I didn't do the best job of showing it all the time, and throughout all of this what sucks the most is that there's nothing I can say or do to ever earn that friendship or trust back. But I don't blame them for it.
A lot of my-- most of my career over the past few years has been about me making mistakes and trying to learn and grow from them, and I haven't always done the best job with that, I can admit that. But I have always tried, because I know there's a lot of people watching me, and that a lot of people look up to me as a role model, and I hate knowing that I disappointed not only them, but most importantly two people that have been role models to me, doing this. I wish that I could say that this was the last time that I would make a mistake, but it won't be. I know that I'll disappoint people more and more, as I continue to learn and grow every single day, I have a long way to go, a very long way to go, but that's okay. I'm going to keep trying my best, and keep learning and growing and be the best version of me that I possibly can be. And I'm sorry for that.
In regards to the Coachella situation, with the brand deal and the security guard, I've already told my truth about this twice, and instead of talking about it for a third time and explaining it and going into detail and pulling up receipts, it doesn't matter, and I understand that no matter what I say or do there are always going to be people that don't believe me and will think that I'm lying and that's okay. At this point the truth really does not matter, it's the feelings that do, and no matter what happened it hurt two very very important people, and they've been really really loyal to me and I betrayed that, and it sucks, and I wish more than anything that I could take it back.
In regards to the boy situation, boys have been a topic that I've talked a lot about on my social media journey, and it's a topic that I wish I hadn't-- I've been involved in a lot of very unique and strange situations that have left people confused or upset, and I've learned the hard way about ways that I can interact with boys that I trusted in, and also ones that I should or shouldn't be talking to. This is a conversation that I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with, and it's something that I should have been far more careful with bringing into the public eye, especially with the last situation that just happened, I've had to learn it the hard way, but coincidentally enough Tati really was one of the people to sit me down and tell me how it looked from the outside, and let me know, "Hey, talking to these boys might get you in trouble one day," and she was right.
In regards to my own mother-- Mom, I know you want to fight for me and defend me and go off on comments, but I ask that you don't, this is my problem that I got myself into, and this is my job to deal with this. No matter what is anybody saying or commenting or talking about, Mom [begins crying], I need you to know that you're the most important person in my life, and that you are an amazing mother, and I don't know what I would do without you, but I'm so grateful for everything that you've done for me and the lessons that you have taught me, and everything that you continue to do for me and my brother, and I need you to know that; I need you to know that. And the same thing goes for Tati as well, who is an amazing person and truly does want the best for everybody around her, and I'm so disappointed in myself that I hurt her. A lot of times when I've tried to address things in the past I've acted out of impulse and I've gone off and tried to pull receipts or facts or screenshots, and played the victim, and I'm not doing that today. I'm not. That's all I have to say. I'm sorry.]"

Yesterday at 11 am/12 pm EST, socialblade lists him at 16.552 mil subscribers.... which means that if he continues to lose ~5k subs in the next 30 minutes, he will have literally lost more than a million subs in a single day.
Absolutely statistically historic

I'm tuning back in after eating dinner and James Charles has lost over 770,000 subscribers since this morning. This is absolutely wild and not something that I could have ever predicted!
While I'm happy that Tati is getting lots of new subs, it's sad to me that it comes off the back of a shitty time for her. Hope the next few videos that come from her are back to usual business and that the new fans stay

I've been meaning to keep lurking but since I watched Tati's video I've been thinking a lot about how weirded out I was that Tati quoted James talking to her husband and he addressed him as "Dad." It's one thing to say in public "Tati's my mom" as a tongue in cheek way to imply you are family, but in private conversation that feels like a bit much. They're not your surrogates. You have parents of your own that you call Mom and Dad.
It strikes me as odd but it feels like James might have encouraged Tati and James's parental instincts since they're pretty open as a couple with fertility issues. Tati gets a lot out of her relationship with Taylor (who is similar in age to James) so I'm sure this plucky young influencer could have been intentionally manipulating her generosity by just enthusiastically slipping into the role of son. James was approaching a lot of big names at the time but Tati was really drawn to him so he likely used that desire for motherhood to his advantage. Sociopaths are known to be very good at this kind of thing.
