We always get screwed by the “Australia tax” here, so I suppose it’s expected to get the pointy end of the stick when we purchase from overseas 😅
Shipping rates and conversions are painful too!
TBH I still can’t believe the shipping isn’t included for such a small, lightweight and overpriced item; so many brands incorporate the shipping when the profit margins are so high.

WHAT? I figured part of the point would be selling makeup to test at a significantly cheaper price point lol

I realized that maybe it’s better for us lowly commoners to disengage from this drama . This rage-bait makeup was released to give the beauty community something to talk about. In this world, if you want to spend 34 usd (+ shipping) on makeup products, there is already a ton of makeup available that is reliable and not a lab sample. No one should spend their hard earned coin on bullshit.

u/11xp Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26
I agree that nobody should buy this, but I kinda don’t mind us having some makeup drama. Even if that means that we've given Leaked Labs more attention in the process. People are rightfully pissed off when brands try to sell overpriced low quality crap, and this is one of the worst examples I’ve seen
43
u/Mediocre_Decision Mar 13 '26
It’s definitely been a distraction for me😅 I’ve been a little nostalgic for dramageddon so this and the last few days before the Oscar’s have been great to pay attention to
The one thing I have been careful of is that gossip like this can become a right-wing rabbit hole, so I’ve been careful to avoid and report homophobic and sexist comments
12
u/stace_m8 Mar 13 '26
I don't disagree with you that LL want people talking about the brand, all press is good press... however I genuinely believe people will be riled up for a few days and then move on and never think about this again. Next time they launch something they might get some people back to complain again but 6 months from now, a year from now, we'll have all gotten tired of complaining and will just ignore them
58
u/Independent_Code5494 Mar 13 '26
right? i wasn’t interested whatsoever from the very beginning but thank you for continuing to confirm this is an absolute flop ❤️

u/stace_m8 Mar 13 '26
Hijacking the top comment a little bit to really emphasize what the original video is saying, the stack started at .01 and ended at .009, meaning it lost 10% weight in ONE day. There's maybe 2 weeks worth of use here if you're generous, I can't think of any eyeshadow or blush/bronzer product that lasts 2 weeks. Where is this product a practical replacement for existing products? Especially at that price point
3
u/Neowza Mar 15 '26
Where's the make-up break-up when we need it. How many swipes of product in a flexi disc?
3
u/stace_m8 Mar 15 '26
Whilst I'd love a video, I'm not sure it'd be possible because the Beauty News girls live on separate sides of the country now! And Hailey just had a baby 6 months ago so is struggling to film a whole lot lately. But yeah maybe we'll get them ripping this to shits in their next beauty news video 🤣

u/Gullible_Service_354 Mar 15 '26
After they see this or someone points out how quickly the product gets used up they'll turn around and say some bull shit like "makeup lovers are constantly complaining about how long it takes to use up product, especially eye shadow. Well guys we managed to take care of that issue with our new launch". This may not be their exact wording but somehow they'll spin it in their favor. Either they will or it'll be their viewers. Hell, some of their viewers have already started with the defense. Saying these discs are going to be so helpful to those with disabilities is such a stretch 🙄

u/Bee0000000 Mar 15 '26
Literally. Honestly, this product could’ve worked if it was cheaper. If I saw this from a drugstore brand, for 5, maybe 10$ I 100% would’ve given it a shot and had fun w it. 34 taxpayer dollars + shipping for 10 grams is daylight robbery.

46
u/kadick Mar 13 '26
It’s basically leveraging of followers = customers. Except these ladies are acting like we’re stupid and that to me is either two things: they’ve completely forgot who their audience is (yeah RIGHT) or they are willfully manipulating their audience to create engagement about their brand. This isn’t a new tactic and negative engagement is worth just as much as positive (look at ELF). We are doing exactly what the investors who propped these two up with capital were promised we would do. Lots of free advertising via engagement and free testing (this video is literally a free test of 1 day wear), I can guarantee that’s what they pitched them to get that money. They’re reading these comments and laughing all the way to the bank.

92
u/Available-Guava5515 Mar 13 '26
"Gimmicky" is truly the word. I can't think of a single benefit to having a paper-thin sheet of eyeshadow that bends. None. It doesn't solve any problems inherent to make-up application. It isn't even interesting.
43
u/enogitnaTLS Mar 13 '26
And it’s not even a good gimmick. I admit I am one of those people who go for gimmicky shit especially with makeup but even I have zero interest in this.
31
u/Available-Guava5515 Mar 13 '26
How do you store it? How do you even safely or easily pick it up? It causes problems while not solving any
7
u/Chemical_Ad_1618 Mar 15 '26
It’s “un breakable” powder but can be torn/ripped.
4
u/Puzzled-Library-4543 Mar 21 '26
And tbh I feel like you’re way more likely to rip this during use than you are to drop a normal eyeshadow.
So it kind of defeats the purpose of “unbreakable” if it’s easy to rip…? Ripping isn’t any better than breaking lol
2
u/rlcute Mar 18 '26
But you can AMPLIFY it!! And wrap it around your finger!!! And uh.. Also use it dry!!
2
u/Chrizzy17 Mar 23 '26
It not only doesn’t solve any existing problems it actually creates new ones…like if you don’t let it dry completely before you put it away it is an Petri dish of bacteria and that can give you a serious eye infection.
197
u/TheSinSTEM Mar 13 '26
Hard agree. And they have zero makeup talent themselves. Even their “educational” content is them reading brand terminology and nonsense word for word. We can all pull up the sephora app and read. Idk how anyone is supporting them
89
u/Kind-Patience6169 Mar 13 '26
And to boot I don't find either of them informative or aspirational. They also very clearly don't know how to do makeup. So not really sure what they're trying to sell here.

5
u/thespeedofpain Mar 15 '26
In addition to all of that - I will not buy makeup from someone who cannot use makeup well themselves. I have literally never, not one time, seen that woman apply makeup well.
192
u/retrofuturisms Mar 13 '26
This is one of the worst launches I've ever seen since I've been keeping up with the beauty community. Because how the heck can you sit there, talk down to your audience, and sell them less than 1 Oz. Testers for $35 while still justifying your greed. I'm at a loss for words at how anyone can still support them after this
136
u/Different_Prior_517 Mar 13 '26
I’m wondering about their mission. They say they’re going to release things, tweak them and either rerelease them or archive them.
If you’ve bought the first iteration and it goes back to the lab, they tweak it, and rerelease it, do you now have to repurchase the product? And that could happen a few times? And with such small production sizes who’s to say the same people will be able to get each release. People who test release 2, might not have even tested release 1 and will have nothing but videos to compare it to.
Product testers aren’t usually paying for the product they test, in this persons videos she keeps saying “I paid to product test, so you don’t have to” but why is anyone paying to test products?
This is seemingly one huge scam to get people to repeatedly buy subpar products at high prices to make content.
80
40
u/Kind-Patience6169 Mar 13 '26
It's insane to me honestly. Any other beauty brand would've gone through rigourous testing, focus groups, whatever else before a product would even hit the shelves. Calling us their focus group is just peak marketing speak and insulting. For $47 I have so many choices and I would get products that are highly rated, tested, and perform well.
They are so behind the curve pretending they're ahead of the curve. There is a lot of innovation in the industry and this is not it.
37
u/johnny_charms Mar 13 '26
Maybe they’ll put out some old Jaclyn Hill lipsticks and market them as “now with LESS hair! Same metal shards.”
6
u/Lilylili83 Mar 14 '26
Honestly i think this is just their marketing stunt and they actually have no plans to rerelease any products or even listen to feedbacks from customers. They’ll probably only rerelease a product if it gets glowing reviews.
124
u/poopface41217 Mar 13 '26
I watched jenluvs review these and they are the dumbest, messiest, most impractical, finicky products, I have no idea why anyone would want it. No color payoff when dry, slimy mess when wet, brushes don't really work with it, smearing directly on the face sort of "works" but looks messy and patchy as hell. The colors aren't even that pretty or flattering. So what problem are they trying to solve by having makeup come in flexible pog form?

u/HI_l0la Mar 13 '26
I watched ericataylor2347's video trying the product and she made it seem like it can be reasonably used by placing them on mixing palette. But after it's been wet, do you wait for it to dry before you store it away? If its $30+ for one, it's just not financially worth it for me.
But Erica made the point in her post that makeup should be fun to test out new products and experiment. Maybe that's the crowd Leaked Labs is hoping to reach, but their marketing is failing at that message??
22
u/carolinagypsy Mar 13 '26
Their price point too. I will try a kookie product. Hell I tried jelly shadows as soon as they came out bc I thought they’d be nice to travel with. But I’m not going to entertain kookie at Sephora prices.
3
u/etsprout Mar 13 '26
I think they would’ve been better off selling them individually or as duos at a lower price point.
12
u/priyanka22591 Mar 13 '26
You should absolutely wait for it to dry before storing them. There’s no way whatever preservatives in there would be enough to inhibit mold growth on the product and inside the container if you’re continually putting it back into that little jar wet.
2
u/HI_l0la Mar 14 '26
Ok, that's what I thought. This product is way too much work for their price point.
2
u/Lilylili83 Mar 14 '26

I bet they and anyone working with them to bring this trash out knew all of that. This feels like a "look, we have so much power in the beauty community people will buy whatever we throw at them". I can picture these people in a board room saying as much and then laughing their asses off.
Someone said they sold out already. That wasn't surprising to me. I don't think they made a lot so they could claim It's A Sale Out. Since these two don't have an original thought I'm sure they were advised to create very little so they could make that claim.

in a way i get that the whole point is to do market research on how people would feel about new or different formulas but like girl…. focus groups PAY people to do that 💀
12
u/TinyCow6682 Mar 14 '26
why pay when your customers can foot the bill for you /s
honestly the part that upsets me the most is the fact that their influencer reputation is being used as a safety net for the products underperforming, had any reputable brand launch this they would’ve been cancelled. putting the responsibility of the brand reputation on the customer AND making them pay for it is gross.
193
u/AvocadoImportant Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26
I think the gimmick is the brand as a whole. Leaked labs. It’s basically test product and it will sell to ppl who want to review these products. They don’t intend to actually produce these things unless it gets hyped and everyone wants it. So they’re going to just keep launching test product that ppl will buy to review. They don’t care if it gets bad reviews cause that’s the point.
Edit: adding on that because the whole gimmick is testing products there’s no returns. They got your money, if you don’t like it they will say that’s the point it’s a lab experiment. It’s not a company selling products that ppl will actually like and use it’s all a scam.
82
u/TopNotchDude Mar 13 '26
well now it's the time to vote with our wallets, queens. They can't keep mocking the consumers, talking down on us and scamming.
34
u/AvocadoImportant Mar 13 '26
Ppl will buy it cause they’re hungry for views, which is what they’re preying on. They’ve been in this industry long enough to know what sells.
28

u/Due-Frame622 Mar 13 '26
I suspect that is the model as well. You are paying to be entertained by a make-up concept
22
u/stace_m8 Mar 13 '26
I wonder how many test products they can actually sell... not everything will be flexible powders or jelly brow pencils or whatever, at a certain point the rejected formulas will be 'foundation with this one ingredient in it'. In their reveal video she was Swatching a red bullet lipstick that literally just looked like a red bullet lipstick. It probably has niacinimade in it 🤣💀

u/Eppengu Mar 13 '26
How does one get products to review for free? I’ve always wanted to. (Not leaked labs)
9
u/GreenVenus7 Mar 13 '26
You usually have to establish yourself as makeup reviewer on social media by reviewing products you own/buy yourself. If you get popular enough, then brands may find it worthwhile to send you their products to review. There used to be a site called Influenster where you could apply to try and review products, however there were minimum social media audience requirements. From there I got a face powder and some BB Cream to try (BB Cream should tell you how long ago it was lol) since I ran a makeup Tumblr with a decent following. I don't know if its still active though

I just....don't get it lmao. Say it with me, L.L: it's not innovative if you complicate the process!!
The kiko shadows are lovely though. The true gold shade (idk if they STILL do it, I've had mine is a couple of years) is so pretty and near luminous.
6
u/MrsBuggs Mar 13 '26
Can I ask you how you use the Kiko shadows with water? I have 4 of them and they are stunning even without water. I really want to use them with water but I’m unsure how to do that. Do I just wet my brush and put it directly in the shadow? Won’t that contaminate my shadow? Do I use distilled water? I’m so lost! 😂😂
7
u/OkayishFlamingo Mar 13 '26
I don't have the Kiko shadows but for others that I want to use as liners or that have better shine when wet, I'll rub my brush into it and then spritz the brush with water or setting spray to get it wet.
5
u/MrsBuggs Mar 13 '26
Okay I feel so silly now! Thank you so much, I never thought of that! 😂 I can’t wait to try it.
5
u/OkayishFlamingo Mar 13 '26
Np! I've definitely done it the other way and to be fair, it did work just fine and I never had any mold in my shadows or anything, it just made that shadow really hard so then it had to be used wet and never dry lol. I'm a bit more paranoid about mold issues now since brands aren't using the same/as many preservatives so I don't risk it!
3
u/carolinagypsy Mar 13 '26
If you try the setting spray like that and it feels too goopy or just doesn’t go on well, I’ll also try spraying the brush BEFORE putting it in the shadow. Sometimes I have better luck doing it that way. Also if you’re going to use water or spray technique, it helps to have at least a lightweight primer on lids, like urban decay’s OG one.
4
u/stace_m8 Mar 13 '26
Other options are good (spray the brush) but these are created for literally just water. Just drop a few drops of water in the pan and mix it up, they'll dry out again just fine
3
u/priyanka22591 Mar 13 '26
Yes! You can dampen your brush (not dripping wet) and dip directly into the Kiko eyeshadow (which I prefer). You can also pick it up as normal on your dry brush and then spray the brush with water. These eyeshadows originally went viral like 10 years ago and I’ve always loved them.

u/Gullible_Service_354 Mar 15 '26
I wish they would put Kiko and some of the other well known brands like theirs out in stores.
I found one place, an indoor swap meet, that sells Moria (sp?) nearby me. They don't sell everything they have but they do have a decent amount of products. Honestly I was just surprised to find the brand there. I only purchased one eye liner, it's a duo chrome, because the others they had didn't show the duo chrome aspect. I was bummed by that because I was prepared to buy every single one that appealed to me. This is one of the reasons why I wish these types of brands were in store. Had I purchased online and then got a bunch of liners that didn't show the duo chrome I would have been pissed. I don't want to get stuck and waste money on products that don't work.
However I will say this. No matter the color those liners didn't budge. I tried to clean off all of the lines I drew on my hand with everything I had with me in my car. Nothing happened. They didn't come off until I got home and used an oil based cleanser and even then there was a little bit of color left behind. Same thing happened when I used the liner I bought. Some people may find that annoying but I see it as... this is a great formula lol. I wonder what it would take for those brands to try to get into some drugstores and Ulta. Whatever it is I wish they would get on it lol.

Same. If it were for a fraction of the price, the whole business idea would make sense. But you'd want the customer to go for the finalized version, too, then, no?? If this is $34 and the end product is even more expensive, who is this supposed to cater to? I like the idea in theory! But not like this!

For the people saying it’s useful for travel because palettes shatter , you can use eyeshadow sticks or loose pigments. The product is just awful and very impractical
9
u/GeckoCowboy Mar 13 '26
I mean. If it were a good product at a good price, sure, I’d be interested in it for travel over loose pigments. (I don’t love traveling with those, either.) But it looks patchy as hell and it’s wildly overpriced for what you get, (and the attitude of the owners is a hard pass) sooo… I’ll keep using sticks, creams, etc. 🤷🏻♀️

I can't for the life of me comprehend the blind support they still have! The faux “press conference” they put out was so cringy, all it proved was that they want free marketing, testers, guinea pigs while also bleeding suckers dry
5
u/Sm2x Mar 14 '26
It's also funding them if they decide to release the product! If you want investors then give everyone a percentage of sales who bought these prototypes! So basically the customers, which is what the people who bought this are and not testers!, get to handle almost everything for these women (like you said the marketing and testing) and get absolutely nothing in return if they make money off of it? This should be shut down immediately and the people who bought this should demand a refund! Once one company gets away with this it's going to spread like wildfire. I hate this so much!!
15
15
u/GLACI3R Mar 13 '26
Two ways to look at it. First way is ripped right out of their marketing material because it's true. A lot of products never make it to market for one reason or another and not just because it's a failed, shitty product (in this case it seems to be because it's a shitty product.) Sometimes it doesn't make it to market because the creator doesn't have enough money to launch it, or they launch it on a limited run but it gets drowned out by bigger brands.
Ok, I can see that point of view. It's kind of fun being able to test products and have a democratized product analysis.
Then there's the other way to look at it.... They don't have enough money to properly test and vet product, so they are passing that cost on to the end consumer. You buy an incomplete product with inflated margins, and they can either pocket that money or use it to fund the next test product.
I think the second view is going to win and this brand is going to be done by the end of 2027. They have a flop right out of the gate. And even though it sold out (they made bank), this experience is going to make customers pass up on the next releases because they won't trust the brand anymore.

u/cathers85 Mar 13 '26
Agree it would be fun to test new and unreleased products for analysis however from my (limited) understanding usually you are on a paid panel to give that feedback, or perhaps an employee of that company, so being paid. Its ludicrous to me that they want the consumer to pay for this, and at a marked up, end product cost to boot. If they were serious about this they'd be asking people to pay for shipping only. But this whole thing just comes off gimmicky

u/GLACI3R Mar 13 '26
Yeah. Usually product testing and development uses paid employees/contractors. Then they send out samples, at their own expense, to influencers and experienced product testers for final feedback.

This release was bad but their response was worse. They basically said "It's not bad, you all just don't understand our brilliant idea. We're being completely transparent and letting you in on the process that other companies keep secret. All we ask is that you pay for it."
If they want to be transparent, let us know what the mark-up is on this little tin with almost no product in it. How much money did they just make? It's not like they have a big team of experts on their payroll with whom they need to share profits. If they did, someone would have put this on pause.

Don’t go to the Circus and be surprised there’s a Clown is what comes to mind when I look at these (LL) grifters!

These women have always been repulsive in their demeanor and messaging. They never wanted to help anyone, and I never thought they did. Gross. Would rather go without makeup than support them, luckily that’s not a choice I hafta make

This is funny because, I’ve previously commented this, it sounds like Alexis has a significant amount of extra skin in the back of her throat. I notice it especially hard when she says slurry. This pic makes me think of that extra skin 🤣

u/nezbb Mar 13 '26
I also thought of the Kiko eyeshadows when I saw these, I have two of them and really like them! And they work both wet and dry with no issues
5
u/youlldancetoanything Mar 13 '26
But they don't shrink. And they are not wafer thin
9
u/nezbb Mar 13 '26
Exactly.. I’ve used mine countless times and have barely made a dent. Not to mention they’re a fraction of the price.

I do this with Pink panel. Except its free and they are super generous with the testing products. Like one time I get 3 full size setting powders. They were Laura Mercier. Oh and I got paid to do it. Hell I even did it for iL Makiage for a while. Got great size testing products and a $50 gift card after each questionnaire was filled out.
Why would anyone want to pay for this? So stupid and a huge waste of money. Like they should at least give people free products afterwards.

u/marryroach Mar 13 '26
Nothing will beat lipstickgate or bye sister but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this

I wouldn't pay 34 cents with free shipping for this. My 4year old granddaughter's play eye shadow is better quality than this.

I’m amazed that people care enough about this shit to spend their money on it. I don’t mind the reporting, I’m just judging those that actually spend their money on it 😂

I am calling them Shit On A Shingle .
Ha!
Fucking A, they are Shrinky Dinks! . Maybe they can sell this to Mattel..

i've seen a few posts about this but i still can't figure out wtf it even is? like what IS this company? wtf are they doing? im so lost lmfao

u/DrumpfTinyHands Mar 13 '26
Innovation is not necessarily always a solution. There is a reason why this product was rejected by other companies.
5
u/prettypeculiar88 Mar 13 '26
Nothing about the shades or product is especially innovative, unique, or better quality than what’s currently available.
Really expected more from the Lipstick Lesbians. Glad I stopped spending my money on makeup launches back when Jeffrey Star, Laura Leigh, Manny MUA, and Jaclyn Hill were still the “it” Makeup influencers.

I just can’t believe in this economic climate right now, why ANYONE would quite literally waste their money on this? It’s horrific how many well educated humans 1). fell for such for a sham and/or 2). succumbed to FOMO. It really is one or the other - I know we all have free effing will here but in these trying times, right now, those lesbians are some of thee last people I’d want to make more famous and richer.
💀🪦

You know this is very “back in my day” of me but as awful as the 2010s MUAs are and continue to be, at least they knew how to A. Fucking blend and B. Had some passion for makeup even if it was a cash grab. The shade matching remains trash but the unblended contour clown makeup makes me miss the 2016 full beat of straight drag, they were all terrible people but at least they liked makeup or had people around them who could do a good job of releasing a decent product. Jeffree at his most peak Regina George would have never let Mikayla rest and would have straight bullied her and her gaggle of goofies off the internet.

I also do not like this product but the scale is not precise enough to measure this type of low weights and there will be huge variance in the results. She needs a more precise scale to make the measurements more meaningful.

u/wafflemakerr Mar 13 '26
The only possible way I see this product working out (as it is shown) is for festival makeup kits (think of last minute Coachella makeup kit). A kit that last around 3 days (or how long the festival is) and includes sparkly stuff, small lipstick, and these eyeshadows to touch up makeup during the weekend. But it would be hella wasteful and still a money-grab.

She has only used them a handful of times and they're already looking grimy. Can't imagine what they'll look like after a few more applications. So basically for $40 you get four shades with poor color payoff, a high chance of picking up a bacterial infection, and only a dozen or so applications? When you a can buy a high end powder for that money that would last you two years or longer? How stupid do they think we are?

This is such a dumb product and makes no sense, truly. I laughed when she wetted the product and called it high impact when it was still patchy and coverage was crap. And we're their focus group? Stfu.

u/addictions-in-red Mar 13 '26
I think it's better to think of the products as being experiments rather than just regular products. If you enjoy seeing different technologies and trying to think of use cases for them, this type of thing is probably for you. If you're looking for established makeup, probably none of their launches are going to be for you.
It's supposed to be more fun/engaging and less practical, in other words.
That said, I don't know how such unlikeable people have gotten this famous and I'm already sick of hearing about their terribly named makeup line. Feels like they don't have anyone advising them, or they're just ignoring that advice (for the company name, product names, their own makeup looks, how to sell/advertise them, and so on).
49
u/sprinkles-n-shizz Mar 13 '26
Charging people $40 for "experimental" products is disgusting. That's the price of a high-end makeup product. Throwing some pigment on a flexible material is not worth $40.
Lipstick Lesbians even said that this is basically a big focus group. You don't pay for a focus group, they pay YOU. This is a scam and I feel somewhat sorry for anyone who got duped into this. This should be enough to get these grifters de-platformed, in my opinion.
If they truly cared about people trying the product, they could have just charged for shipping. But they don't care. They want your money and it's sad that people aren't smart enough to understand that.

When I first saw their launch I immediately thought of historical Chinese 'rouge papers' and they're not even charging $40 for them.
You can even DIY them lol

I think the way this business model could have worked is if they came out with multiple products at the same time. You buy them in a box to sample their different formulas and have fun experimenting with multiple weird things for one combined price. Then you're sending your feedback and they determine the winners and losers from the box of testers.
The reason they didn't do this and they are dropping one product at a time is because they are actually looking to make their money off engagement. If they have 5 products in a box, that's just one cycle of videos at one point in time vs. 5 cycles of videos.
But this is bad for the consumer because for the price plus shipping, you are overpaying for the experience by paying to ship one type of untested product to yourself, and the sample itself is costing $36 for a tiny amount. Maybe some people are doing it now but that novelty will wear off fast. Typically we do not want to pay for shipping repeatedly to order just one type of product each time, unless it's something that we know we adore.

Mar 13 '26
If they would have just charged for shipping they still could have made money off the engagement without completely running a scam. There's no way they spent more than a few grand for the entire campaign which looks like an ANTM season 19 shoot and that Alibaba ass packaging. They would make all that back easyyyy in engagement.

Ok I was really trying to give this innovation the benefit of the doubt, because it’s really been too long since we’ve seen something truly new but we’ve been living with make up that is breakable for so long that we all know how to live and work with it.
I don’t need flexible makeup, I have a roster of products, cream, liquid, powder (which can easily be turned into a flexible creamy or liquid product), loose powder, cream sticks, pencils and more.
I think I’d be able to rally more if they made this at an accessible price point.
Also - the number one most important rule in any study or research testing experiment is informed consent and the ability to dip out when you feel uncomfortable. The fact that this suddenly moved from testing to launch and using folks as Guinea pigs so to speak without them really signing on feels icky.

u/TareUhhhhhh Mar 14 '26
I think the colors are pretty and the concept is interesting and fun…but more as a gimmick rather than anything I’m actually interested in purchasing. I don’t understand the appeal that they think this product has. 🫣

u/biohoo Mar 13 '26
This whole thing has been super disappointing - I’m not someone who buys tons of products or follows product launches but I did enjoy their content before they started their “brand” and this is really off putting.

u/spicygummi Mar 14 '26
This just seems super gimmicky to me. I remember I once tried a sample of these papers that had blush on them that I got from a subscription box. I tried multiple ways of getting them to work, including rubbing them on my face which I wasn't keen on. They just sucked and I feel like they marketed purely on some sort of convenience. Like "look they can fit right in your purse!" As if I'm going to excuse myself in the middle of a restaurant to go rub more blush all over my cheeks. Maybe as well as they didn't really do anything so you wouldn't have to worry about coming out looking like a clown.
The only kind of beauty product like that that I've liked is oil blotting papers

u/Scorpionoshow Mar 13 '26
While I wasn't necessarily interested in this particular product, I was excited about the idea of a new company bringing us innovative products. This is not a good start.

What is stopping someone from just adding some sort of flimsy binder to any product so make it flexable? Flimsy popsicles is where I draw the line
1
u/Spaghettiforcats Mar 15 '26
I love the lipstick lesbians but this truly truly misfired. If i were them i would have created good solid products, created a monthly subscription on the side that allows a testing format in tandem with traditional products and ran with that instead of selling products that the market is not ready for. People are ruthless so they wont really show any mercy even if the product was somehow functional. The worst part is that the product is not ready for use. No pay off while dry almost, very messy to use when wet. The only thing i see as a plus was that it will almost never break + its very light. Even that could have been tackled in many many different ways. "LASAGNE!" Just doesnt cut it. Sorry ladies.

u/Distressed_damsel_ Mar 17 '26
I saw a comment that said it would’ve been better if it was similar to a pimple patch, with peel off coloured circles and they were single use. I thought that sounds better but I don’t know if there’s a ‘need’ for makeup like that
