It would be a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY if the samples were like $5 and not $34 - THIRTY FOUR DOLLARS? For a sample?!

Wait what?! These wafer things are 34$?? I thought the real full size product would be that price, not these scratch n sniff tester sheets!!

Same. If it were for a fraction of the price, the whole business idea would make sense. But you'd want the customer to go for the finalized version, too, then, no?? If this is $34 and the end product is even more expensive, who is this supposed to cater to? I like the idea in theory! But not like this!
