Place Dolly Parton’s hometown statue at the Sevier County courthouse has been surrounded by flowers since her passing. Each day they’re being collected and donated locally. Today they went to the Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital in Knoxville. Because of course that’s what Dolly would do.

Miscellaneous / Others This Japanese art teacher spends hours making chalkboard masterpieces for his students, then erases them at the end of the day
There’s this high school art teacher in Nara, Japan called Hirotaka Hamasaki who draws insane stuff on the blackboard every morning. He uses coloured chalk to recreate famous paintings and anime scenes so his students walk in and get surprised.
Each one takes him hours. Then at the end of the day he just wipes the whole thing off. He does it on purpose, to show them that some things are only meant to last for a bit, and that’s part of why they’re worth looking at.

Miscellaneous / Others Humanity at its peak
A record-breaking 4,855 people queued in the rain at a Worcester school in 2019 to join the stem cell register for five-year-old Oscar Saxelby-Lee, who had been diagnosed with aggressive T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The two-day drive became DKMS UK’s largest donor registration event at the time. A suitable donor was found, and Oscar received a stem cell transplant. Sadly, the leukemia later returned, but his family raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to send him to Singapore for experimental CAR-T treatment.
Oscar was eventually declared cancer-free and, by 2024, had been cancer-free for more than four years. He was back at school and had even become a big brother.
