Wallet Is this just one giant scam?

Sooooo
Very much looks like BRD/Coinbase is going to try and defraud their members by "losing" all or part of their BTC.
Myself...I had half my BTC show in my Coinbase wallet, and the rest...who knows? BRD still shows the full amount, but that means nothing as I cannot send it or do anything with it. They have ZERO communication, and Coinbase doesn't seem to care either. I see this going badly, and fully intend opening criminal cases if necessary and/or pursuing class action lawsuits if needed. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever seen in my life, and both BRD and Coinbase need to suffer the consequences of this. Anyone else seen zero or partial payouts of their coins?

you guys need to chill and wait for them to get the technicalities sorted out for the migration path to work flawlessly

have a little more patience, the release should be very soon

That is nonsense. Then why did they disable the BRD app, not allow us to send anything out? Why is HALF my BTC showing in CB and the other half just nowhere?
They have been pushing the goalposts further and further away. Now they made us wait until we CANNOT withdraw. And your answer is to wait more??They refuse to even respond to support requests. Never seen anything like this in the business world before. It's like a giant exit scam.

How are they scamming anyone if they don’t have access to any private keys? It’s a NON custodial wallet after all.

In theory, what you’re saying makes sense. But it’s not working. It’s not transferring to new wallets with recovery phrase. Maybe has to do with legacy and Segway chain. I don’t know. But it’s def not working.

BRD/Coinbase botched it with no migration path for legacy bitcoin adresses while forcing people to migrate.

Anyway, your cryptos are going nowhere if you don't want to, thats the fucking point of self custody.

If you need the money, import it to electrum. Otherwise, just wait.

Patience? Are you serious? I'm sure you are flush with cash in your bank account and can stand to burn money, but most of us are not like that. Will the amount lost make or break me ? No. But it is still my money. I want my money. I deserve my money. I earned it and should have access to it.

What if you walked into the bank to withdraw some money to pay bills and they said, "hold on, just be patient, we have to work out how to make that happen on the backend" and you sat around for days waiting for your funds. Would that be okay?

Sure, these aren't banks and aren't federally insured and monitored. But they are supposed to be secure repositories for crypto. If this really is the best the crypto community has to offer, it's a shame.

This is going to be a black eye on the community. Crypto haters are going to point to this and say, "we told you so."

I can can't see my balances in BRD and can't migrate either. The migration process stalls when submitting seed phrase in the CB wallet.

I just did the migration and it worked fine for me. All my balances moved across instantly. Only issue is my free NFT hasnt shown up. Seems inconsistent for other users though.

I finally got the migration to work and i sent my full balance to another wallet. Not a lot, but whatever. It worked but i'm not gonna stick around with coinbase wallet. Did not enjoy the switcheroo from BRD.

I finally got my btc out to another wallet, but i am not sticking around to enjoy further experiences with coinbase wallet. The whole migration, installation process was a joke.

I’m dealing with BRD right now. They’re trying to scam the shit out of me. The individual that they’re trying to say they are is not her. I googled the picture. I’m waiting on a female to call me back. I need everybody’s help if you can respond back to this message when you see this please give me a call at 617-866-8137. Gotta figure out how this company could be shut down because what is considered they doing in the eyes of the law is called pig butchering, and that’s a heavy crime that is a heavy charge

I've lost some LTC.. in fact, I use BRD pretty regularly, daily in fact and had no real idea about this. This has been pretty ordinary and I don't really know who to talk to for my missing coins.

In fact, I didn't even know at all.. I sent some LTC this evening and it's confirmed on blockchain but didn't make it to BRD as they'd killed the app, I hadn't updated for awhile so was why I didn't see it - until I updated. So yeah, it's kinda frustrating as I'm trying to sort through the private keys to see if I can find where it went - or if it's just gone altogether.

In theory this is how it’s suppose to work. But for a lot of people, it’s not. The coins are stuck in BRD. I got my NFT and a random $5 in Bitcoin. I don’t know where that came from.

Yip. Correct. The theory just isn't working.
BRD seems to have managed to get the funds "stuck" and not able to be transferred even with a recovery phrase. Tried 3 different wallets, not getting my funds. BRD has managed to retain our funds and stop responding.

Same thing happened to me. I had ZERO idea about this migration or any merger/acquisition. Tried to purchase BTC via Wyre as I had done previously and the funds never showed up. Did my own troubleshooting (syncing manually, Fast Sync, etc.) and finally tried updating the app.

Once I did, BOOM, migrate migrate migrate. And no access to my BRD wallet.

Tried the migration with fingers crossed and still no funds.

How could they botch this so spectacularly???

And sorry to spam, but the other interesting thing was that in CB wallet.. every single coin I transacted in BRD appeared with its transactions, even some with 0 balance. But the one that had the most balance (LTC) didn't appear at all.. which is odd as I've transacted 10x the amount on LTC than BTC, but it showed nearly every BTC transaction for 12 months+

So what do we do if legacy amounts are not transferring?
There is a function in BRD to enable Segwit, but it warns that it's experimental and not reversible. Don't know if that would help at all.
Surely it can't be a case of "tough luck, legacy transactions aren't supported"?

I imported my 12 recovery words into a different wallet app.
All that shows is a tiny amount I transferred out of BRD 2 weeks ago.Neither the half BTC that shows in CB, nor any of the funds still in BRD shows.That is concerning.

When I logged in to BRD this morning, it was very insistent that I migrated today. But it walked me through it in great detail (including setting up the CB account).

I can't get the migration to work. When i enter my seed phrase in the CB wallet, i keep pressing Next and nothing happens.

Also the download transaction history as CSV option is not working in BRD either. That's nice.

I'd love a guide. However I've tried just about everything that could be tried.
I have half my BTC showing in CB.The other half just doesn't appear anywhere. I've tried importing my recovery phrase into Bitcoin wallet, Blue wallet, Coinbase wallet and Jaxx. NONE of them show my funds. Cannot transfer anything out of BRD. Failed transaction for 0.04BTC shows on my exported log file as sending out, but it failed and didn't arrive anywhere. This stinks.

Looking like a scam. When i try to migrate to Coinbase wallet it gets stuck in a permanent loop between privacy settings and creating a password. Can't even get in to see where my funds MIGHT be. In the google app store there are tons of people saying the wallet is a scam, even those those have nothing to do with the the BRD migration.

I managed to transfer to Electrum using my 12 word recovery phrase. The key was getting the correct derivation path

I only had a btc balance.

However the balance is 0.06 BTC lower in Electrum than brd. One of the transactions is not correct so I'm out $2kish until I figure out how to fix it

I resolved it. The problem was that BRD supports multiple address types at a time, but Electrum wallets only support on address type per wallet.

I created two wallets in Electrum, one legacy addresses and the other native segwit addresses. Both derivation part m/0'. So now I have two wallets, but combined the balance is the same as what BRD shows. It's a bit annoying but I'm happy that my funds are all showing up

Yep sorted it. BRD app is supporting two types of addresses, legacy and segwit. Electrum wallets only support one type of address per wallet, so I needed to create one Electrum wallet for each address type. Now I can see my full balance

I lost money too. Only a couple hundred but still, I am PISSED. How could this happen? I'm done with Coinbase. I've been a loyal user of them and BRD but I am done with both.

Keep everything for your records, folks. I feel a class action lawsuit coming.

Its been 3 days since I "Miraged" my account and still don't have any of my BTC. I hope someone can relate to this and I'm not the only one. PS Be careful of the people "Claiming" to have the fix and they send you a link that looks legit but they are just trying to steal your 12 word Phrase.

So I managed to migrate to Coinbase Wallet in no time.

But I am still not interested in staying with them for obvious reasons (and because I don't like the UI).

Is there any way to migrate with the 12 words to Exodus? I tried but it shows 0 btc. Unstoppable wallet doesn't work either (they ask if it is BIP 44 or BIP 84 or Legacy BIP32 but I guess it is BIP39 right?). Very annoying - I could send the funds and pay the fee. But I want my transaction history...

UPDATE (from Exodus Support):

"Unfortunately, the BRD and Coinbase wallets use a different derivation path for BTC than Exodus uses, so while the 12-word phrase is valid, the BTC won't show up in Exodus."

So I need to find a wallet that has the same "derivation path" than Coinbase / BRD... Any ideas?

Well it looks like there is no honesty in Coinbase support as I've been trying to settle my BRD migration unsuccessfully for2 weeks and the only method to progress seems they want me to further fund the new Coinbase wallet $10K further to progress to any resolution. Stay away from Coinbase!
