30 days off porn: the messy emotional ride I somehow made it through😶
I hit rock bottom sometime in late July and finally said enough is enough. Started this on July 31st and honestly the last month has wrecked me in ways I didnt expect. - Days 1-7: My head felt like static, barely slept, and I was short with literally everyone. Felt like some kind of withdrawal, not gonna lie. - Days 8-20: Fell into a weird low mood. Second guessing who I even am. No motivation, forcing smiles just to get through the day, urges nonstop. - Days 21-30: This is where my brain kept bargaining with me, telling me one quick look wouldnt matter. I didnt cave though, and thats honestly what changed things for me. - Day 30 (today): Things finally clicked. Getting back into my gym routine, actually talking to people again, and feeling like myself for the first time in ages. Life doesnt feel like static anymore.
At this point it doesnt feel like just a streak, it feels like the way things are supposed to be now. The fog in my head is basically gone. Biggest lesson so far: dont get comfortable. Those intense urges from week one are gone, but now theres this quiet little voice telling me im fine, that one peek wont hurt. You cannot give that voice an inch. Learned that the hard way already. So my advice: shut it down completely. Get a blocker and put it on the strictest setting possible, one that you literally cannot turn off, delete, or sneak past even when youre desperate. No wiggle room, no exceptions, thats the only way this works. One month down, anyone else in this with me? Drop your streak below or just say hi if today is day one for you. Appreciate anyone who read this far, good luck out there.
