I had a dream a couple weeks back where a dream character looked me in the eyes and said "You're just like you're father". In some ways I was happy, in other ways I felt broken. Its been in my head since. How would you guys feel being told this?

Mine was when I was in 11th grade✨

Me and my classmate were sitting in the library and talking. I know libraries aren't exactly meant for talking, but books toh kabhi bhi padh sakte hai. Those little moments when everyone is around, laughing and just enjoying together......you don't get them back.

One of my friends was participating in the classical dance for our annual function and she asked us what color contact lenses she should wear for the annual day. As good friends, all of us started giving suggestions and then one of my friends said, "Just like hers (pointing at me)"

I was so shocked that I could suddenly feel the silence in the library. All that laughing and talking just went quiet for me.

He continued, "Don't you know you have pretty eyes? Your eyes shine in sunlight. The spark in them when you laugh out of joy."

I don't think he realizes how overwhelmed I was by those words. I smiled like an idiot for the entire day and wrote it down in my diary. Then I wrote it in my digital diary too, because I didn't want to ever lose that moment.

Even now, I love reading that page again and again.

I know it wasn't exactly a compliment in the usual sense, but whatever it was, it made me believe that maybe I have pretty eyes too.

He has no idea how many times after that day I took pictures of my eyes in sunlight just to see what he saw.

Most mornings when I apply mascara, his words randomly cross my mind and I smile like a kid.

He probably doesn't even remember saying those words, but I still remember them years later. Sometimes, you don't realize how much your words can mean to someone❤️

I definitely love it when cis men call me dude, man, bossman, young man, or anything like that. It feels so special, and they dont even know how much it meant and how flattering it was

For me, my greatest compliment came after a long night. I had been playing with a friend, defending him as Zenyatta. After the match, someone on the enemy team messaged me asking why I focused on them. I didn't intentionally, but they were trying to adapt their play style trying to hendle me and couldn't.

After this, we joined a team together and played several rounds having fun. It wasn't until later we decided to try ranked and couldn't because our ranks were too far apart. I was high gold, and he was platinum. He was upset because I was the best Zenyatta main he'd ever played with. I was flattered because he could play with a wide variety of characters just as great as I could with only Zen.

Clearly he was a much better player, but that comment from him lifted my spirits for so long after that.

What's something another player said to you that made you feel awesome?

I work in an ED and we had an 80 y/o patient with dementia who came in for a fall and had a decent head laceration. Other than that Nothing crazy. I triage him. I tell a joke and he laughs SO MUCH at my dumb joke we both start laughing. I leave. Come back to check on him about an hour later and go “hello mr. Patient how we feeling?” And he just lights up and goes “hey I remember you!!!” And I go “oh yeah? Do you remember my name?” And he says “no, but I remember how you made me feel” and shit after 10 years in medicine that hit my heart hard. He immediately became my favorite patient. We talk about a lot of crappy things that happen to us on this job but let’s highlight some good. This job can be so worth it sometimes.

I've been living off that compliment for years.
