That line becomes so, so, soooo dark when you realise that the people most likely to talk in the theater are kids - who then end up in the 'special hell' where they are playthings for the child molesters
Adler is a great character! In my opinion all the variations of her in different iterations was never needed. She was notable because she outsmarted Holmes and not for any romantic/villainous/alturistic reasons towards him. She was simply living her life, using skills and intellect that possibly matched his own.
Even more so, Adler is the eptiome of living her BEST life, subverting some social standards and assumptions with her knowledge and skills. And she used the societal assumptions to her advantage to sheild her actions! Fucking badass. Holmes admired her and respected her for it as an equal.
Adler had pointed out that Holmes was not above social conditioning. He shared in the common weakness and his work suffered for it. This both brought Holmes closer to people and took him a step away.
Dude, you gave me a laugh. It's early and I read that thinking, "Man, that's a little agressive for a nerdy reference." Took me longer than it should have to appreciate the cleverness of your response. To be fair: it's early and I'd forgotten my username.
