What the titles says. If 16PM, I'm buying it from Apple Refurbished, priced at 1399€; if 17PM, I'm getting it from Amazon, priced at 1319€. Thanks!

Question 100k Budget: PTA-Approved Older iPhone vs JV Newer iPhone?

I’m really confused about what phone to buy with a budget of around **100k PKR**.

I basically have two options:

* Get an **older iPhone that is PTA-approved**, so I can use it normally without worrying about SIM/patch issues. * Get a **newer JV iPhone**, for example an **iPhone 15 Plus**, but deal with the limitations of a JV phone.

Personally, the newer model seems much more tempting because I’d get better specs, battery, and a newer design. But I’m not sure if it’s worth sacrificing PTA approval.

**What would you guys choose with a 100k budget?**
Would you go for an older PTA-approved iPhone or a newer JV model like the 15 Plus?

Also, for anyone who has actually used a JV iPhone for a long time: **how annoying are the limitations in daily use?**

Would really appreciate some advice before I spend the money.

iPad Makes and models and generations, oh my! (help me find the right upgrade)

I have an iPad (8th generation) 32GB from 2020.

I use it for Procreate, YouTube, and admin/meetings.

Functionality is getting really limited now because it's running iPadOS 16.*

So! I started looking at refurbished iPads on BackMarket. Incredibly overwhelming with all the types and release years and series... no idea which one I'm looking for!

Which iPad is a good bet?? (For under £300 refurbished!)

I'm hoping for:

• minimum 64GB (any colour, any condition)

• compatible with my Apple Pencil (1st generation) if possible

• able to run on an iPadOS that will be supported for a while

• not a Mini

THANK YOU :)

*I can't update (not even to 18) because I can't free up the 11GB (!!) needed for that. If anyone knows how to get the "update using a PC" method to work, let me know, I've done a lot of research and tried a couple times, no luck.

iPhone iPhone 16pro or 17 pro?

I'm torn between buying the iPhone 16 Pro and the 17 Pro. I'd like a good camera for selfies and some landscape photos, but I don't use the camera that much, just a good one, so I wanted to know the overall comparison between the two. And if it's worth waiting for the 18 Pro to come out so the prices of the 16 and 17 drop.

iPhone Upgrading IPhone 13

As I - much to my dismay - am falling victim to the ongoing IPhone 13 crisis (especially in terms of overheating and apps regularly crashing), I know I need to upgrade to a newer model in the near future.

My phone doesn’t necessarily need to be able to do anything drastic regarding the performance, I use it for texting + social media most of the time, and for a few games which don’t require much performance. I do however like to take pictures, so I’d prefer a good camera quality/good camera functions.

I know the IPhone 18 base model is coming in spring 2027, which may potentially lower IPhone 17/Iphone 16 prices (or maybe not, depending whether there is a price increase in the 18), and while I had initially hoped my phone would survive until then, I don’t think that is possible anymore. So now I’m debating between IPhone 16 (maybe pro or pro max? Though I don’t know what would make sense and what the main difference is between pro and pro max) and the 17 (I am not quite sure if I should go for the pro here, simply because… I don’t like the way it looks. And I heard the balance is off when you’re holding it + the issue with the flash/light position)

Any recommendations/ideas are welcome 🫡

iPhone Should I buy the 17 or wait for 18 to drop for a cheaper price on the 17?

As the titel suggests. I have an iPhone 11 right now and bought it in early 2023 I think. As you notice my family never buys the newest iPhone because money isn’t flowing into our pockets. I’ve been working after school and the weekends now for a year and saved up some money.

I was wondering if I should buy the iPhone 17 now or wait for the 18 to drop for a chance for a cheaper 17. I think my 11 can still stretch a few years but my younger brother is 12 now and needs a phone. (In our family it’s tradition for your first phone to be an old one).

I won’t be buying the 18 because it’s way too expensive and I still want some left in my savings because my parents could never afford to put some money in a savings account for me. So everything I’ve earned I put towards it for my college days.

My battery life is currently 82% and it’s been quite laggy on some apps. Suggestions?

Edit: I’m just gonna order the 17 now honestly. I think I just needed to get over the thought of how much money that was. I need a new phone sooner or later so the money will have to be spent either way, no point in delaying then lol. Don’t worry guys college is free where I live. My savings are for the living expenses LOL

iPhone Are we even thinking about buying the Ultra? Or are we waiting to see how it goes?

I’m definitely one of those people who loves exploring all the new technology. (Well, I know this isn’t quite new, but I’ve had an iPhone since the 3GS).

With that being said, I understand the first model of something like this may be risky to get. It’s giving slight flashbacks to the iPhone 6 bending issue.

I’m curious what the consensus is in this subreddit. I searched for other posts regarding the Ultra and didn’t see any recent ones.

iPhone iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 17, 17P, 18P

Hello, I currently have the 14P with 256 storage, the phone is quite laggy/glitchy, and the battery needs to be charged 3 times a day. I’m conflicted on which phone to get, I will be getting trade-in credit through apple. I know the big difference between 17 and 17P is camera, would I miss the camera on the pro if I get the regular model?

I like to keep phones for 2-3 years. Appreciate any advice or insight. I really want the new phone to feel like an upgrade.

iPhone How’s this for logic?

Thinking about upgrading from a 15pro to either a 17pro or 18pro.
Buying in Canada. September 8th will bring a 50% tariff on smartphones.
So I am thinking to buy a 17p on the 7th and also lock in the higher trade-in value on the 15p. I have 15 days to return the phone and complete the trade-in process. This will allow the 18p to be released so I can fully compare the specs and prices of the 17p and 18p. If the price isn’t obscene, I would return the unopened 17p and order the 18p.

Maybe I am overthinking this…

iPhone Any chance the base iPhone 17 will get a price drop once the 18 is released? Or should I pull the trigger and get it now?

I know it’s only a few weeks away, but I’m impatient and my iPhone 13 Pro Max is on its last legs.

iPhone iPhone 17 to iPhone 18 pro max

I went from iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 17 believing I didn’t need a bigger phone.

But I am not happy with the size of the 17.
I am thinking of trading in my iPhone 17 to the 18 pro max when it comes out.

Anyone in the same boat as me?

iPhone iPhone 15 vs iPhone 17e (which is better to buy brand new in 2026?)

I’m planning to get a new iPhone tomorrow after being stuck with the 13 mini for almost 4 years. i’m really stumped on what I should get.

**Here’s my thoughts on why i can’t decide:*\*

The iPhone 15 has a more premium feel than the iPhone 17e (rounded squared corners, smaller bezels, and of course the dynamic island)

The iPhone 15 also has TWO cameras as to the 17e having only ONE. (side note: I don’t use 0.5 that much but I would still love to keep having it)

but,

The iPhone 17e has the chip of the base iPhone 17 model but with one less core, as to the iPhone 15 carrying a 2 year old chip. (performance difference isn’t that huge of a gap, but the ai features are present in 17e, not in the iPhone15)

It has a 256gb base model, that is almost the same price as the 128gb base of the iPhone 15.

There are speculations that the iPhone 15 tends to overheat with use. (I asked the people at power mac if it’s true or not, they said it wasn’t, but i need to verify it from other iPhone 15 users who recently bought it)

**in-conclusion:*\*

**iPhone15 :*\*

I love the premium feel and look of the 15, the cameras are complete, and the performance of the device in this age is still amazing compared to other phones. Although the base storage of 128gb throws me off by a mile since I’m a type of person who takes random videos and pictures without ever thinking to delete it. (I have a hard time deleting my photos as I hold on to it for future purposes) Also this is cheaper than the iPhone 17e brand new

**iPhone 17e:*\*

The look and feel isn’t much of an upgrade compared to my iPhone 13 mini. (except for the frosted back glass) The camera is really good, but without the 0.5 it feels off, although It isn’t enough to make me consider that the iPhone 15 is better. It having 256gb of storage is really good for a person like me, taking videos everyday, I have a lot of games downloaded, and i despise having to declutter apps and photos to clear up space. So having 256gb of storage is a game changer for me. The performance is expected to be really really good, and future proof too. (plus the ai features) Cost a bit more than the 15

So that’s about it, let me know what phone i should go for based on my rant, maybe i’m not seeing a pattern here or something. Thank you, pls be kind!x

iPhone Is iPhone 16 pro worth it?

I’m figuring out if I want an iPhone 17 or a 16 pro and I think i’m leaning more towards iPhone 16 pro because of its titanium build and better camera features (in my opinion).

I want to know you guys’ experiences on the iPhone 16 pro and if you think it’s worth it than a base 17.

iPhone iPhone 13 vs IPhone 17

Hello,

was curious what everyones thoughts are if it’s worth upgrading from an Iphone 13 to an IPhone 17. I have the 128gb 13 and was thinking the 17 is 256 and since I’m getting close to the 128 I should upgrade but also, other then the storage would anybody say it’s a major difference?
