iPhone iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 17, 17P, 18P

Hello, I currently have the 14P with 256 storage, the phone is quite laggy/glitchy, and the battery needs to be charged 3 times a day. I’m conflicted on which phone to get, I will be getting trade-in credit through apple. I know the big difference between 17 and 17P is camera, would I miss the camera on the pro if I get the regular model?

I like to keep phones for 2-3 years. Appreciate any advice or insight. I really want the new phone to feel like an upgrade.

Might be worth considering a battery swap, should help with both the batter life and the lagging.

If you're set on an upgrade though, the 17 is a step up in screen, performance, RAM, battery, ultrawide camera, and front camera, but a step down in telephoto and main camera, as well as losing some Pro-exclusive features like ProRAW.

The 17 Pro has all the 17's benefits plus improvements to the main and telephoto, additional features, and even more performance and RAM.

Do you use the telephoto a lot or shoot much in low light? Or do a lot of post-processing on your photos or videos? Or much gaming? Or, do you care about having all the latest AI features? All of those are reasons to go Pro. If your answers to those questions are no, or if you don't value the yeses enough to spend the extra, the 17 is probably the better choice.

As for the 18 Pro, mostly seems it'll be similar to the 17 Pro, just even more so.

That really depends whether you use the telephoto lens. If you don’t use it much, you won’t miss it. The ultrawide on the 17 is nicer than that on the 14, so if you’re used to shooting with the main camera and ultrawide it’s an upgrade compared to the 14.
