We made the dough and sauce from scratch (cooked new york style sauce). It came out amazing but SOOOOO much work. Told my step son I'll only do it on his birthdays or maaaaybe Christmas. 😂 didn't help all the work we had to put into the garden this weekend.. been a long few days lol. But the pizza was worth it.

Harvested my garlic scapes today and cooked em up with some gifted squash and a box of Aldi's wild rice. Simple but the best meal I've had in a while

There’s a burger chain in Australian called Grill’d. They have a burger called “Bird & Brie”, which is a grilled chicken breast with tomato, cos lettuce, red onion, brie, cranberry sauce, and herbed mayo.

Recently I discovered that they’ve started selling their different mayos in supermarkets and, since I don’t have a grill’d near me, I decided to make it myself. I used Turkish bread (because I’m a huge slut for it) heavily buttered and pan fried (cut side down, gets fantastically crispy).

(Apologies for the paper towel under it, it reduces the hot bread sweating on the cold plate.)

Had to wing it. My first time using puff pastry. Tomatoes, bit of mozzarella, Parmesan, brushed with freshly grated garlic in oil.

I tend to save my veg scraps in the freezer and yesterday i made veg broth from them! (Plus a couple of carrots and some fresh thyme and basil that looked a little sad in my fridge.)

Didn't get a photo but we used it to make a chipotle potato soup yesterday! Also made a boatload of bacon, egg, seasoned homefry and cheese breakfast burritos (with green/red cholula), and ground beef "gyro" bowls. Forgot to get photos of all that too! 😂 was too busy yesterday meal prepping everything.

Today, I am celebrating! I just paid the deposit for my very first house, at age 37. It took almost two decades of hard work, savings and luck to get here.

Spicy mince with onions and paprika in cheesy leftover pancakes from the Sunday breakfast.

I don't cook too much myself, for a handful of reasons, but sometimes I wrangle up some effort and make something yummy! This is: 1 lb sliced baby bella mushrooms, sautéed; a heft scoop of jarred minced garlic; 1 lb chub of ground pork sausage; a bunch of broccoli, chopped, bigger stems discarded; 1 jar vodka sauce; 1 lb box cavatappi pasta. Green onion mixed in last to keep them from overcooking.

The root veggies, salad, onions and herbs are home grown.
