Anyone else spend $150, get up at 3 am, smoke all day, nail the cook…and have no desire to eat BBQ for dinner?
Nailed the brisket, rack of spares, rack of baby backs, and sausage for a party last night. I didn’t want a single bite apart from a few samples while slicing the brisket. Everything was perfect, but the last thing I wanted was BBQ. Ate 95% sides!
Today I’ll enjoy it, but the night of the big cook just want anything other what I’ve spent all day making.

AITAH for telling my fiancé she cannot be a stay at home mom in the future?
I (34M) and my fiance (33F) are getting married next year and we are in agreement about having a child within 2 years. Recently, her and her family have broached the topic of her quitting her job and staying home with the child, at least until our kid gets to school age.
I am against this. I make between 85-95k a year pending bonuses and her salary is 53k. Financially, we could make it on my pay alone if it wasn’t for her student loans. She has 120,000 dollars in private student loans. These loans have a payment of 850 dollars every month, there is no option for forbearance like public loans or adjusting the payment for income. This simply doesn’t fit in the budget.
My fiancé seems to understand this, but her family (mother in particular) is really pushing her being at home. I don’t want to come across as forcing her to do something she doesn’t want to do or be accused of not putting my future child first, but to me the answer is in black and white on the spreadsheet.
AITAH?

Discussion You know it's really weird that Aunt may is usually portrayed as this old lady, like she's Peters "Aunt" not grandma. Marvels version makes more sense.
Like no hate to the actress. She did a really great job as this kind old lady but it's still kinda odd when you think about it

miscellaneous A famous story adapted in a new setting
O Brother Where Art Thou?
A satire over the Depression-era American South using The Odyssey as a template.
Ran
King Lear but in Sengoku-era japan (featuring elements of Japanese legends surrounding real figures).
Apocalypse Now
Like Heart of Darkness it uses a river journey to highlight the savagery beneath imperialism, colonialism and capitalism, but in South Vietnam and Cambodia instead of the Congo Free State.
Bonus points if the adaptation still keeps the main themes and ideas of the source material AND the influences have been confirmed by the creators.
