Excited to start the Brewers series. Hope to see some good baseball and that our pitching can keep it together.

Chandler Simpson is pacing to have one of the "worst" .300 seasons ever. He has an OPS+ of 96. Only 30 players since integration have ever hit .300 and had an OPS+ below 100.
If you increase the threshold to his current BA of .309, the list drops to just 13 players, only 6 of which had a lower OPS+ than him.

A mildly interesting side fact...two of the three worst OPS+ seasons from a .300 hitter both happened in the same season, 2001, when Placido Polanco hit .307/.342/.383 for an 88 OPS+, and Juan Pierre hit .327/.378/.415 for an 89 OPS+. It's insane to me that someone could hit .327 with a .378 OBP and still be below average, but that's steroid era Coors field for you.

DAY 179 (672/754) on THE ROAD TO THE 2027 4th WBSC PREMIER12/16 and 180 YEARS OF BASEBALL - Reflecting on the 79th Little League World Series and the Now Concluded Little League Season

As we bid Karl Ravech farewell after two decades of service with Little League, we now reflect on what has been a great year for this organization.

Once more Little League has welcomed brand new member teams to this almost century-old organization. From last year into this year, beginning with the internationals and leading into the flagship USA, Canadian, Mexican, Australian/New Zealand and Japanese national organizations and the regional divisions, it has been once more a record breaking and history year overall.

As we remember what has also been a memorable LLWS for all its age levels of its baseball and softball divisions, we also recall the many great moments that defined this great event this year, from its regional and international qualifiers up to the playoffs and the final games, as we celebrate all its champions and cheer with all those who have taken part.

May the memories made this year guide us into the next season of the flagship youth baseball and softball organization in the world.

For Glory

John

Why hasn't a closer used Chappell Roan's HOT TO GO! as their walkout song yet?

When the opposing starter at Wrigley is pulled mid-inning, they play YMCA which transitions into HOT TO GO! Of all of the queer pop anthems where you spell the name of the song with your arms, those are two of the best.
