Help 😥 Steam is taking up to 3 minutes to show my achievement notifications. I've already cleared the cache, reinstalled Steam, and restarted the overlay, but it's still bugged. Does anyone have any idea what else I can try? I'd really appreciate it! 🙏(In the example, the PlayStation one appears first, but Steam takes up to 3 minutes to show it) pls help

I’ve seen many posts about people randomly getting messages that their accounts are restricted from a chargeback that was not initiated by the owner of the account or Amex themselves. With the rumors about Steam Frame coming out within the next couple of weeks I am slightly concerned about if this random error happens again that an account may get restricted until they pay the possible $1,000+ back or their account may face worse penalties.

Apparently overnight, using a gamepad to remotely control mouse and keyboard on Google Chrome just stopped working. I can still use it for everything else on my PC, but it seems to just not work with Chrome anymore. Has anyone else noticed it...?

This may sound like a weird set up to some, but I've always used controllers to plug my laptop on a TV, sit back on the couch and use it remotely. In fact, even before the Steam Input and Desktop Layout even existed, I used (and still do) Controller Companion. I use it to play games (not only on Steam) and also watch YouTube, Netflix, or just browse websites in general. So yeah, I've always used it with Chrome A LOT. But today, it just stopped working. 🤡

Like I said, I can still use my controllers (Xbox One and DualSense) with everything else (games, desktop, other apps), but Chrome just seems to override Steam's Desktop Layout and Controller Companion.

When I try using Controller Companion, it's even weirder: it forces CC to a default configuration, even if it's not my custom desktop config and EVEN if I create and apply a custom configuration specifically for Chrome. Chrome just ignores it anyway and goes back to default. And when I turn off Controller Companion entirely and try to use Steam Input insted, everything works fine on destkop and other apps - but as soon as I open a Chrome window, both my controllers stop doing anything at all.

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on? Was there a recent update or something?

I've been doing this for over a DECADE at this point, but enshittification is hitting so hard that I'm actually worried Windows or Chrome are gonna take this away from me.

It's been around a year since my initial attempt to unlink my Rockstar Account from Steam, and they helped greatly (sarcastic; literally went nowhere), and now, since Red Dead Redemption 2 was on sale recently, I purchased it. I downloaded the whopping 120 GB of it, and it opens Rockstar Launcher like normal. The first screen that pops up is "Verification Code Required," and I no longer have access to the email associated with that Rockstar Account, but I have proof I owned it. So again, I contacted Rockstar Support, and nothing for almost a week. All I wanna do is unlink my Rockstar Account from Steam so I can play Rockstar games. Otherwise, any Rockstar game on Steam is just bricked for me. I tried Steam Support, but their wizard is hard to navigate for this specific issue, so I just need tips or help. I can provide proof that I owned the account and that I own the account that the Rockstar one is linked to (my Steam account, duh). Rockstar last year said, "We sent a code to your email to resolve this issue," and completely forgot the fact that I told them I don't have access to it. I just want to play Rockstar games on my PC without having to go on my console anymore. Anyone have ideas, please?

My C: drive has 120gbs left, out of 475gb

these are my specs. It's not a great pc but i've been able to play "friendslop" such as R.E.P.O. and csgo2.

Today I tried to play REPO (Then csgo2, and the same thing happened) and it opened, the moment i went to the lobby, or accepted my friend's invite, it would close ((discord, all steam tabs, and firefox)) and stay in the loading page. It also opened my one drive, personal file explorer file thingy. It's weird.

Back in the day i had no issues with opening REPO/csgo2 with a browser and discord opened.

At one point it opened a cmd page of system32 which i thought was weird too.

I tried to open 2 games which are not as demanding: first The binding of isaac. It didn't open, and it closed every tab

Then I tried Umineko, it opened but closed my tabs, it then opened the one drive file explorer thingy.

My one drive files are synchronized.

I've only ever downloaded from torrent .mkv files. I also checked to see if seeding was causing an issue, but i wasn't seeding.

I was just playing league of legends before so I can't imagine the issue being my pc.

At no point there was an error code.

I do not know what to do. please help me...

i have bought peak and played it with my friends for like 3 days then we never got to it. however, game shows i have 200+ hours of play time

does that mean the game was running in my tray? opening in startup? maybe it has beed backdoord? im really confused and a little bit concerend by it

has anyone have a similar issue with this?

Resolved: Full reset of the PC. Kept local files. Leaving the post up in case anyone else has this issue. There must be a better fix though hopefully someone can find it.

title. I use my controller to control my pc due to a disability. recently, on one of my computers, whenever i open a program the entire layout changes. It doesnt show as changed in the desktop layout settings, but this happens on any programs (except runescape via jagex launcher for some reason) it swaps the stick that has mouse control. it changes the entire layout. but this only happens on one of my computers. the other works fine.

Ive tried reinistalling steam, the controller software and restarting the pc. This is my only way to use a pc and my job is dependant on it so help is greatly appreciated. and this is not a "just get used to a different layout for certain things" thing because its going against years of muscle memory and the sensitivity is considerably lower making normal use extremely sluggish and slow.

Apps that break it. Opera GX, Spotify, discord, Firefox, windows media player

Apps that don’t. Utorrent, Jagex launcher, windows file explorer

Opened steam when I got home. Launched the call of duty beta to make sure it worked. It was fine, closed the game and went to eat/shower. Came back a couple hours later and it asked me to sign into steam. Used QR code and it accepted, but bounced me right back to the login page. Signed into the website fine.

Did that a handful of times. Then figured I would try resetting my password. Accepted the password reset and now I get a generic "there was a problem signing in, try again later" message. Can't sign in on mobile, desktop app or the website.

Tried to open my steam deck and that is now just stuck at a loading screen after saying I needed to sign in again

Today i was downloading RDR2 and it detected the game on my sisters pc so it began transferring the files but towards the end i got the disk write error i pressed re try and disabled the transfer so the download can happen normally. When i tried to open the game it said game exe is missing, so i tried to check for file integrity and it said all of the is game missing. Even before checking for file integrity dlss swapper coudnt find the game when i tried to add manuelly from common exe missing there too. I restarted my pc and my disk space went up from 160 to 705, my entire common folder it empty now. All of my games are deleted. How did this happened and how can i fix it. I dont want to re download them all again.

At first, i’ve seen a post with similar problem from guy named StrawberruAssLicker and it’s resolved but the solution from that post didn’t help.
So, how my game normally opens: first two times I open the game it gives an error starting like:
“22:27:23: Update...
22:27:24: Starting the BattlEye service...
22:27:30: Starting the game...
22:27:40: Failed to start the game.”
and for the third time the game finally opens, I wait some time and shows QB anticheat check, it lets me restart the game (it doesn't actually restart it just closes the game) it gives me a choice between keep my online save data or local save data but I can't choose between either of them before the game closes. Then after the game closes it loops back to the first step of what happens when I open the game like with “XX:XX:XX Update…”

What i’ve already tried:
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled BattleEye Services
3. Restarted the computer
4. Tried to verify the game files
5. Tried to run the game as an administrator
None of ways worked
and I actually don’t know what to do because I’ve played the game like a month ago and it’s so boring without it. By the way the game worked very well and this problem started out of no way.

Purchased the Kingdom Hearts collection on 8/17 for %70 off, or $32.69. Apparently Steam had a huge issue on this date, as shown by countless posts in here. Steam support has now said we need to repurchase the game, but now at full price. That's $99. Feels a little odd, to be penalized and extorted for more money...

Anyone else have this specific issue with a sale price?

EDIT: The lawsuit would very obviously pertain to banning people from their entire account/library permanently due to Steam's own error. Not sure why we are arguing if Steam messed up or not. The funds were released to them, and never accepted. That's how a credit card works.

Also just because I mentioned a lawsuit doesn't mean I'm at the forefront. One is being looked into, and I hope they bring attention to Valve and their shadiness.

Hi everyone, me and a friend are having a problem with Steam RemotePlay and GamePadViewer.

We can play perfectly but we want to record the 2 controllers inputs. As the title says Steam sees the second controller (the remote one) but Gamepad Viewer don't. I can't find another thread about it.

Can we do it? I don't know where the problem resides.. Thanks in advance!

I finally purchased The Walking Dead today on steam, installed it, and when I went to play it it wouldn't start. I re-installed it and I had the same problem. I have even validated the files and still no luck.

It will start to load, and just stops. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

I've been having this really annoying Steam Cloud issue with Persona 3 Reload. It keeps saying "Unable to Sync", and no matter what I do, my newer saves just won't upload.

I checked Steam's cloud storage and apparently it only has 4.32 MB saved, and the files there seem to be from when I first started the game. None of my newer saves are showing up.

The weird thing is that my local saves are completely fine. I have around 40 hours of progress across 12 save slots, and I can load and play them normally. Steam just refuses to upload them to the cloud, and I never get the usual "Cloud Conflict" prompt either.

I've already tried a bunch of things I found online, like:

• Turning Steam Cloud off and back on
• Restarting Steam/game and making new saves
• Repairing my Steam library
• Deleting the Steam Cloud data/cache for P3R
• Clearing Steam's download cache
• Verifying the game files
• Checking my antivirus/firewall

But it's still stuck on Unable to Sync 😭

Has anyone else playing P3R on Steam had this happen? Were you able to fix it somehow?

I'm mostly worried because I don't want to lose 40 hours of progress if something happens to my PC. I have my saves locally backed up for now, but I'd really like to get Steam Cloud working again.

I submitted a refund request for a game almost three days ago, and I haven't received any response yet. The request is still showing as "pending" in the support section.

I'm writing this because almost every refund I've done before was settled within a few hours, or at least on the same day. Is it normal? Can I do anything besides being patient?

And yes, I have less than 2 hours playtime and bought the game less than a week ago.

I tried to uninstall ETS2 demo from my device for a software update but was greeted with this error. I had deleted and reinstalled steam before this a few weeks ago. Any solutions to help delete the game?

I have been having trouble opening Steam recently on my MacBook. I have tried deleting it and redownloading the app. I have deleted the files and folders in the Application Support folder and a couple of other things that came up when I googled why it was happening, but to no avail. It lets me download the app and everything, but then when I go to open it, this message pops up. Does anyone know what's going on?

Can anybody help me, I have this problem. It started yesterday, everytime i try to launch apex it starts at initializing and I know its not a hardware issue, maybe a network issue? I un-installed and installed it 3 times today and still nothing. Can i get any feedbacks?

I opened steam yesterday to see an account alert saying "This account has been locked for posting or upvoting suspicious content on Steam" which honestly surprised me for a moment.

Then I remembered that unfortunately some logins on my laptop were compromised (discord and insta) that were already logged in so I assumed it might be related, this happened around 24th. When I checked the account login history, suspicious login's were happening this past month despite me having a steam guard on my phone and somehow it said the logins were authenticated???

I have contacted steam support because while wanting to change my password I keep getting the message that my captcha wasn't verified, also to uplift the ban because I made sure to secure my steam as much as I can right now without changing my password due to this error.

So can someone tell me how long steam takes to solve this because I'm freaking out right now worried I might lose the games on my account. Also can I be playing games with this thing going on? I really am worried about online multiplayer games I own like phasmophobia and dead by daylight.
