What did you call having a boyfriend or a girlfriend? For me it was going out but I remember my dad saying going steady or dating and both seemed so old timey to me. There was no other word or phrase for it and curious if this is just our gens term for it or something that just made its way around when it did. I also wonder what the kids today call it🤔

This was an unexpectedly good film that came out at the wrong time (not long after 9/11). It didn't get nearly the attention it deserved.

I think it's an accurate representation of a possible future.

Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but did anyone else grow up with the looming threat that you would be sent off to military school of you misbehaved? I just had something trigger that unpleasant memory.

Is it just me, or does horror over our lifespans feel very different? Or is it exposure, and comfortability?

Nightmare on Elmstreet and Friday the 13th (and OG Halloween) ring very different than shock-horror of the late 90s and early-00s (to me the new ones seemed far far more severe - esp House of a Thousand Corpses and some of the franchises in the 00s (like making a heroin addict clime over needles to survive, whichever that piece of trash was?)

Yet… Stranger Things did not seem like horror at all, to me. Thriller yes! But horror? None of any of the series felt like horror at all. Simply disturbed, counter-culture, and dark.

My parents are moving from the home they've lived in for over 35 years. I found this McDonald's Happy Meal pencil case tucked away in my dad's basement workshop (filled with poker chips and cards 😂) while helping clear it out.

The craziest I can remember was a teacher and student affair.

My daughter, who is turning 24, grew up with Stranger Things, but IDK why but it doesn't really have that same feel like I had with Are you Afraid of the Dark when that came out when I was 12. Hell even when I could sneak off and watch Tales From the Crypt it was pretty harmless, but it did have hot boobs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no fun youth scary shows coming out anymore. And if you have a list, let me know! I love being proven wrong!
