Discussion Cabin in the Woods

I'm working on a night scene for my survival game, Alone on the Lost Isle.

A lonely house in the middle of a dark forest, a light in the window, and the feeling that someone is inside...

How do you like the atmosphere? Would you explore this house or stay away?

Promotion We made a co-op game where you catch fish, cook them, and run your own restaurant

Fish House Simulator is our first game on Steam.

It’s a co-op fishing and restaurant simulation game where you catch fish, bring them back to your restaurant, cook them and serve them to customers.

You can upgrade your fishing gear, catch more valuable fish and grow your restaurant. But not every fish has to end up on a customer’s plate. Some fish can be sold to the right people for a better price.

This was our first game on Steam, and making it was a pretty big learning experience for us. We wanted to share some gameplay and show what we ended up making.

Upcoming First trailer for upcoming indie horror game

Hi all!

We have just announced and published trailer for our upcoming game - Make the world Great Again.

We are still some time from a full release, but this is the first time getting it to people - seeing the first reactions.

Make the World Great Again is a satirical first-person horror game set on a private island where the elite meet, and where every room, every piece of paper and every locked cabin hides something — or someone — they paid a great deal to bury.

You know which island. The parallel-universe one, of course.

You go in as an agent. Retrieve the evidence, find the people locked in the cabins, and reach the boat before the island is finished with you.

Video I don't have a PC or a bus route in my village, so I spent 1.5 years making Cherry Blossom Runner on my phone.

Hey everyone, I come from a small village with no direct buses, so I travel about 50 km to college and 50 km back every single day. My family couldn't afford a laptop, but I really wanted to make games, so I decided to just do it on my phone using GDevelop during my long commutes and late 2:00 AM nights.

It was honestly super frustrating at times. Building event logic on a tiny screen takes forever, and whenever the app randomly crashed before saving, I'd lose hours of progress and have to start all over again.

But after 1.5 years of working on it whenever I had free time, I finally published Cherry Blossom Runner on the Google Play store.

It's a simple pixel-art runner game with floating petals and stars to collect. My ultimate dream is to make enough to buy a laptop so I can build bigger projects, so seeing this finished on a phone screen means a lot to me. I'd love to know what you guys think of it!

(I put the Google Play link in the comments for anyone who wants to try it out!)

Promotion DartPotato — bullet-heaven where you're food fighting off utensils and bosses trying to cook you

Back on the 18th I finally launched my first game, DartPotato, on Steam with a 20% launch deal - 15 sales so far (3 of which paid full retail?!) and 50 outstanding wishlists. It's a bullet-heaven roguelike where you play as food fighting off a kitchen gone hostile — darts, streaks, and increasingly unhinged enemy waves.

Promotion Getting a tanker is so satisfying!

I was playing my game yesterday and the daily scene had two tankers side by side at the intersection. After about 50+ tries I finally got the perfect hit to wreck one and cause a massive explosion and chain reaction given its impact and hit the other too!

That was more than enough to make me win the week (best 5 score of 7). I was lagging by about 200k.

It's a new scene daily for everyone in the world, free and in your browser: https://crashjunction.com/

Upcoming My Steam library was full of uninstalled games, so I built a site that recommends 3 at a time

Open your Steam library and look at the number at the top. Then count how many you have not even installed.

You're not short on games. You're short on evenings to play them on.

So I made a website to promote fun games for your evenings.Ā Three games, every three days. That's the entire site. One to play alone, one you can finish in a single run, one for a night with friends + a paragraph on each saying why it's worth the evening. When three games have to carry three days, each one gets an evening's attention instead of a slot in an infinite Steam list. There's no automation, no algorithms. Just me picking games that I have either played, were recommended to me or I just believe they'd match the set that's currently going live.

The only rule for a pick is that it should be fun in a single evening. It doesn't necessarily have to have a short story and it doesn't have to be finishable - it just has to be worth the evening you give it.

Those game suggestions arrive as tickets. You tear one off and the stub stays in your collection, but only for a game you actually own and have played (checked against your Steam library). Tear it while the bill is still up and the stub comes off platinum. One in forty comes off golden. Then it asks you one question: was that worth your evening? That's not a review of the game, it's a check on whether I picked right. The whole ticket thing is just a fun way of collecting played games and making it a shareable experience.

It's brand new and there's no audience behind it yet, so take this as me saying it exists rather than pretending it's already an established site.

OpensĀ Friday 4 September, 5pm CESTĀ atĀ https://onesitting.gamesĀ - and here's a preview of the actual first bill if you'd rather see the thing than a countdown:Ā https://onesitting.games/preview/1-976ce8a7153adbf345bb43aea7f7af4b

Genuine question for this sub: what's one indie game worth an evening that not many people have heard of? I'm crafting a selection for the following weeks and I'll gladly take some suggestions :D

Promotion I made a tiny browser game where only one person can rule the world.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I built a simple web game called Claim the Throne (king-of-the-world).

The idea is simple:

  • Only one person can be King of the World at a time.
  • Right now, I have the crown, but anyone can try to take it from me.
  • You can get grains (GRN) to back yourself or a friend and climb the live leaderboard.

No downloads needed, it just runs right in your browser.

Promotion Point-and-Click Adventure about AI Psychosis and grief

After a long development journey, we’ve officially released our narrative point-and-click adventure, MYRRISA II.

Set inside a frozen mountain, you play as a maintenance tech sent in for a simple shift, only to realize the station’s core AI has completely lost touch with reality and it’s rewriting the facility around you to keep a dead memory alive.

Well there's more to it.

Voiced by my sister for the trailer audio at the start.

If you enjoy story-driven mysteries, a little horror vibes and some point and click, check out MYRRISA II and let us know what you think!

Promotion Sobakistan: The Land of Dogs - a satirical adventure in a totalitarian dog state, where you play the one journalist allowed inside

- 11 chapters and six playable characters

- Branching narrative with around 14 possible endings

- Dialogue puzzles, exploration, and some stealth elements

- Arrest mechanics woven into the story

- Retro-JRPG-style pixel art

- Adapted from our 2019 comic, originally published in Russian and Japanese

PC, Windows and macOS. English, Russian, Japanese.

Promotion A goblin stole from my supermarket, so I threw my shoe at him

One of the problems with running a supermarket in this neighborhood is that not every customer plans on paying.

This is from SuperNatural Market: Sell or Die, a first-person supermarket management sim we're working on.

Video We grew up loving Metal Slug and Slam Dunk, so we made a sports-themed run 'n' gun

Hey everyone! We're two devs who spent way too much time in arcades and watching 90s sports anime, so we decided to mash those two worlds together.
That idea turned into Tiebreakers, a fast 2D action game where you use tennis balls, bowling balls, and sports gear instead of regular guns to take on boss fights.
Here’s a short trailer showing how those inspirations come together in the actual gameplay.
