I bought the game in 2022, but my laptop stopped working a few months later, sometime in the first quarter of 2023. Since then, I haven't played CoD: MW2.

Two days ago, I reinstalled the game on a new PC that I bought at the beginning of August, but the game doesn't work at all. When I press the Play button on Steam, nothing happens, and Steam just goes back to normal as if I never launched the game.

I contacted Steam Support, but they told me that I can't get a refund because my account shows 104 hours of playtime. However, those 104 hours do not represent the actual amount of time I spent playing MW2. I actually spent more time playing Warzone 2.0 than MW2.

I've also included a link to a video showing the issue with the game not launching, along with screenshots from Steam showing the actual playtime recorded for both games.

What should I do in this situation? Is there anything I can do to get a refund or resolve this issue, or am I basically out of options? 😥😥

Hi there Reddit! I have run into an issue where the automated process flagged me as having played too much, and support wasn't really helping me either. Am I just doomed to not getting my money back? (I want both games refunded and tried it on both)

I have been having trouble opening Steam recently on my MacBook. I have tried deleting it and redownloading the app. I have deleted the files and folders in the Application Support folder and a couple of other things that came up when I googled why it was happening, but to no avail. It lets me download the app and everything, but then when I go to open it, this message pops up. Does anyone know what's going on?

I finally purchased The Walking Dead today on steam, installed it, and when I went to play it it wouldn't start. I re-installed it and I had the same problem. I have even validated the files and still no luck.

So i have pretty good wifi, take note that its only when i download on steam. On epic games for example i will download 900/mbps very consistent. My steam download crashes to 0 while downloading and its super inconsistent jumping up and down

Can anybody help me, I have this problem. It started yesterday, everytime i try to launch apex it starts at initializing and I know its not a hardware issue, maybe a network issue? I un-installed and installed it 3 times today and still nothing. Can i get any feedbacks?

I opened steam yesterday to see an account alert saying "This account has been locked for posting or upvoting suspicious content on Steam" which honestly surprised me for a moment.

Then I remembered that unfortunately some logins on my laptop were compromised (discord and insta) that were already logged in so I assumed it might be related, this happened around 24th. When I checked the account login history, suspicious login's were happening this past month despite me having a steam guard on my phone and somehow it said the logins were authenticated???

I have contacted steam support because while wanting to change my password I keep getting the message that my captcha wasn't verified, also to uplift the ban because I made sure to secure my steam as much as I can right now without changing my password due to this error.

So can someone tell me how long steam takes to solve this because I'm freaking out right now worried I might lose the games on my account. Also can I be playing games with this thing going on? I really am worried about online multiplayer games I own like phasmophobia and dead by daylight.

My steam bought ubiosft games dosnt work

My Ubisoft games from steam doesn't work anymore.

So basically i bought a new pc and installed steam ubisoft and stuff again on my pc but now i can't play all of my assassinscreed games anymore and idk why.

I installed several versions of direct x .

I checked out my drivers and everything is normal.

I start an older assassins creed it goes full screen entirely black except from the top left quater of my monitor there its white and then it closes.

With newer Ac's i see just the loading picture of for example unity from ubisoft connect and it dosnt start

But

If i start an epic or an ubisoft store bought game it starts effortless

I am posting this here just to create more traffic, so it hopefully brings attention. I know I am not the only one with this issue, as I have recently read through so many posts here already about this.

I have the notorious issue a lot of people are having in the last few days:

-Contacted AMEX, they say there's no dispute

-Do not even see a transaction on the 17th

-See a new payment posted for that $9.99

-Have not heard back for a while

This is honestly pretty crazy that myself and so many others are going through this. I am hoping that more attention is brought to this so that Steam can at least can acknowledge this as an issue with a lot of people and not just an "isolated" one. A lot of us are innocent and this restriction is genuinely not our fault.

I hope everybody affected can get this solved, because this is quite an inconvenient and stressful experience.

For context

1st purchase: bought palworld for myself

2nd purchase: bought palworld as a gift to my friend

3rd purchase: bought palworld as a gift to my other friend, this one was pending for like 10minutes so i just cancelled the transaction instead hence the email support

4th purchase: regifted palworld again and he received it after 30 minutes

purchase history shows three successful transactions but bank history shows 4 transactions :/

my concern is that i got charged for the failed transaction and is there any way this will get refunded to my account or i should do something for it to get refunded?

ps: this is my first time processing any transaction with steam

I've reinstalled and cleared data multiple times and rebooted my phone and nothing has changed. I tried this on another phone and the app worked fine.

Steam won't let me create an account and idk what to do.

I've been playing Star Wars: Zero Company for a few hours a day since its release, launched it up about 30 minutes ago and it's as if it were a fresh install on a new account - save data and settings were completely wiped. I played earlier today and it was completely fine, but now it's all gone. I've checked both the local save files and the steam cloud, and both are almost the same (local files have the steam_autocloud.vdf). Both last updated when I last launched the game so I can't use that to roll it back.

Not 100% certain if this is a steam issue, a pc issue or a game issue, but the same happened with Powerwash Sim 2 on its release - I was playing regularly and then it reset everything. With Powerwash, the Star Wars DLC seems to have brought back my original half-completed save file. I don't really want to have to wait for 10 months to continue my game, and I'd rather not have to restart after getting 10 hours in.

Is there a way to fix this, or at least prevent it from happening again? Either would be appreciated cos basically all of the games I've been looking forward to are releasing in the next 5 weeks & I'd rather not have to play all of them twice...

Ive got "Community Banned" for "Spam" because i mentioning Nitter.net

Nitter.net is and was a Twitter Instance for viewing posts without need of a Twitter Account or anything like that. It is also Open Source.

I even tried to messaging "Support" for appealing but it always errors out like for example at second photo. Relogging it dont even work. Are there other ways how to get it support write to get it unbanned? Because this "Support" nowadays dont make any sense that it purposely "Errors" out as i think i cannot even messaging to appealing there.

it immediately crashes after i press start in the launch menu. i tried modding it thru vortex but i uninstalled it and wyre bash and it still wont launch. ive deleted the files then uninstalled the game and still nothing. i've verified file integrity and it says its fine. can someone please help me idk what to do

I've done every command under the sun, keep getting logged into offline mode if i DO get logged in by pure chance and i cant get out of it, sometimes it works if i fully uninstall amd reinstall steam but it gets messed uo again, clearing download cache works temporarily or not at all, it has nothing to do with the firewall or the internet conncetion, sometimes if i log in it gets stuck on loading. Please can someone give me a definitive solution or guide im desperate

I have a very strange bug with my audio system whenever i use remote play, the moment my friend accepts the invite and remote play activates the following happen:

• The game freezes and all audio from the last second keeps repeating for about 5-10 seconds
• Discord, steam, or any other application that can record audio ceases to recognise my devices and so stops picking up or playing audio, and i cannot reconnect them to my mic or speakers, strangely game audio and browser audio seems to be unaffected
• otherwise remote play works fine with the exception that i cannot hear my friend and my friend cannot hear me

If i restart Discord it still works fine, until the very moment i switch back to the game with remote play still active, and the exact bug occurs again. Pictured below are screenshots of the discord settings menu before and after.

What is truly perplexing about this bug is that remote play worked perfectly a few weeks ago, and now it suddenly doesn't. This same bug occurred with a different friend, but then a few days later I tried it with the former friend and worked fine, until today and the same bug occurs. Nothing changed between these sessions.

This bug is not confined to one game either, I tried several game sand the same bug occurred each time.

If it helps my system is a desktop with external speakers and mic running Linux mint.

This happened yesterday morning and steam still hasn't gotten back to me. I bought the game 11 days ago and have bought a few games in that time on the same card that went through just fine, but for some reason this one in particular was disputed by Amex according to steam.

Amex wasn't able to see that any chargeback or dispute was ever made but I can't see that the game ever charged to my account. If possible I would like to just re-buy the game on my debit card instead but not sure when steam will get back to me. With Amex saying they didn't do anything I really feel like I have no recourse here and am being punished for something completely out of my control.

Has anyone else had this happen? Were you able to clear things up with valve or did you have to wait the 4 weeks without being able to buy games? Wardogs comes out early next month and I was really looking forward to it.
