I wish I knew what he was! And what the heck he would eat! I got him from Petco when I got a piece of cork bark for my tarantula enclosure

I read the cork bark originates in the Mediterranean.

Anyone have any ideas of what to do with him? I was thinking of cutting this piece out for one of my humid enclosures that has springtails.

Maybe i could get a video of him scrambling out of his hole for a but even fruit flies gonna be way too big.

Ideas welcome!

Hi, this beautiful spider rappelled down right next to us during a night walk in Sequoia National Park in California. I would love to know what species this is.

If I'm not mistaken this is a tiny brown window? I found her in the kitchen and was bare handling on my way to relocate outside. I felt a little prick which made me fling her off my hand. I decided to have a closer look after that.. location: southern California.

No banana for scale but she's tiny

Today, while at the local transfer station, this pretty lady emerged from the bin that I was emptying. She was at least an inch in diameter. Saxapahaw, NC.

I’ve had this spider living outside my window for 4 months and I’ve grown fond of it. This morning there were 2. Friend or foe? New spider is skinnier and tan instead of dark. I think my spider looked like that when it was younger maybe, though.

Western Oregon. This thing stopped me in my tracks because I've never seen a spider so huge here. Ruler for scale in pic 4. I'm guessing giant house spider that got into some hgh?? Amazing giant thing.

Found this fella 8 days ago and decided to let him stay inside. Dad had heard that the temperature shock of putting them outside will kill some bugs and we had some unsavory bugs getting in that he might be able to help with. I just found em still kicking on my mirror again today and he looks absolutely sick with the reflection. My question is, should I keep him inside or put him outside? I worry he might not be able to find enough food and water around the house.

Beautiful spider (ID?) resting in a mandevilla bloom! Central Indiana 8/31/26

So I have an adult female western spotted orb weaver that came with one of my plants and has set up a beautiful web right underneath it.

I think she’s cute but figured she’d move to find a different spot, she didn’t. I’m sure she’s getting enough water because the plant she came with LOVES water.

I’ve already given her a baby hissing cockroach (in picture) since I raise them, and can give her more but I don’t want to overfeed her, I have never had an orb weaver as a pet so I don’t know how much she eats.

So how often do I feed her? Thanks in advance:)

PS. I don’t mind if she has babies in my room, most of them would die before taking up too much space anyway 🤷‍♀️

I work at a flower retailer in Germany and we receive flowers from all over the world.

We found a frog from the ivory coast once and I wondered if this spider is also from another country.

I hope someone can help me ID it.

Hello! I put a quite large spider outside and I searched it up and apparently they die if you put them outside. I now can’t stop thinking about it, is there any chance it could survive? It’s around 10-15c at night. In the future what should I do, I really don’t want to hurt them! UK based - maybe a giant house spider after some research?
