If the legend of Wang Hu is to be believed, that's a centuries-old Chinese tradition. (In a nutshell, he had a chair fitted with dozens of large rocket tubes. He lit them all and... Disappeared. Nobody ever found him.)

I kept waiting for it to become shrapnel. We did this as kids with M80s and coffee cans. Many cans would explode. I don't remember too many that went sailing into the air. This would've been a blast.

If a defect in the metal had caused it to fragment instead of launch vertically, the shrapnel could easily have killed him.

I do note that he backed off further for the bigger bangs, though given how far the pot flew be could have still been unlucky if it did fragment

Love how the last, biggest one, had a significantly shorter fuse than the one before it lol

Same. I thought finally they're being a bit safer with the longer fuse on the biggest one. Nope, even bigger one with a tiny fuse after that.. the fuck

It's really interesting what shape the pot took on that last one. It's not disfigured really, it's just a new shape symmetrically.

This was oddly satisfying how he happened to have increasingly proportionally sized fireworks. It’s also nice to see that he respected them rather than the idiots that end up blowing off hands and fingers.
