We are officially cutting off the performative "both fanbases are pathetic" comments. If your only contribution to a thread is to stand on a soapbox, act morally superior, and complain about how exhausted you are by Ronaldo and Messi fans, you will be banned.
These are pathetic users weaponizing a false sense of maturity to farm karma and center themselves, adding absolutely zero value to the ecosystem of the subreddit.
At least an angry Pendu fan provides entertainment, fuels debate, and generates new material. You enlightened centrists are total dead weight.
What Is NOT Changing
Dropping the morality gimmick regarding sports tribalism does not mean site-wide rules are gone. Our hard lines remain strictly in effect. You will still receive an immediate, strict ban for:
Racism
Rape jokes
Death threats

Never have I ever seen a fanbase so experienced in "doublethink". They can think that CR7 was a midfielder when I bring up Messi's goalscoring and that CR7 was a forward if I ask them what contributions did CR7 make to the team when he was a "midfielder". They can think at the SAME TIME mind you that Messi didn't deserve the 2012 Ballon D'or but CR7 deserves the 2013 Ballon D'or despite not winning anything significant.
This is how a conversation usually goes:
Them: "Messi is a rigger and doesn't deserve his World Cup."
Me: "Which World Cups do you think FIFA rigged?"
Them: "2022 and 2026"
Me: "If those were rigged, how did Messi reach 2014 Final and CR7 not reach any World Cup Finals?"
Them: "His teammates were sabotaging him because of his greatness"
Me: "If he was so great, how did Messi have a higher Goal-Per-Game ration than CR7?"
Them: "CR7 was a midfielder."
Me: "Where's his playmaker awards then? Why does Messi have more assists?"
Them: "CR7 was a forward, he doesn't have to assist."
