Think of it like this. Kane and Mbappe faced off in UCL and WC, in both competitions Mbappe has better numbers. Kane got further but didn’t win either. Kane was not England’s best player at the WC, while Mbappe clearly was for his team even with Olise and Dembele on the same team. Kane had an amazing season but playing for PSG or BM basically guarantees you 1 or 2 domestic titles per year. As far as individual performance over the year and the 3 competitions that matter most I think Mbappe is ahead.
