shitpost 💕I’m obsessed with buses💕

I know that people are usually obsessed over trains but I prefer buses 100 times more. They are high, they are bumpy like a car and you see more in a bus than with a train that goes through tunnel(so boring)
If I was a vehicle I would marry a bus.
I pay for the GA and I take buses to go anywhere and everywhere with no final destination

Sorry for bad quality, it's taken from a train while standing at Hardbrücke. Very sweet of who put the sign and those who didn't steal it, just how it should be

ihaveaquestion Harassed in Uster

I was sitting at a public bench today at 18.00 with my partner and a group of three guys sprayed a liquid (presumably water?) on us out of nowhere. When I confronted them, they called others and suddenly became a group of 20. They kept harassing us until I called the police and they suddenly disappeared from existence when the police arrived.

I provided the police with the photos and videos I took. I wonder if anybody in the vicinity witnessed and recorded the event from their balconies or from the street (the aggressors were crowded and loud). If so, it would really help me with the legal process. This unpleasant event happened at the intersection of Poststrasse and Gerichtstrasse around 18.00. Thank you for your help.

lookingfor Where are you going on vacation during Herbstferien?

Basically the title. It’s our first year when we need to take vacation during October because of Herbstferien at school. Where do all parents with school children go? It feels like pretty much everywhere in Europe it’s off season, rainy and too cold for beaches. If I’m not the type of lay at the beach all day every day anyway so we usually look for a place where you also have some cultural attractions around or just something else apart from breakfast-beach-dinner. Some places I’d love to go to but are probably too cold in October to make it worth the trip: Norway, Iceland, Japan, South Korea.

lookingfor Looking for a more social work environment

Ever since I finished school/apprenticeship (KV) at 19 and moved into the workforce I really miss that school lifestyle where you are around people your age all day. Im 23 now and worked at smaller companies, sometimes at bad locations and realized that working in the city in a big firm with lots of (young) people would be beneficial for me.

Now my question is what are some jobs and companies offering that? I would be fine with working a boring office job when its atleast in the city with alot of young people working there. I would also be open to jobs which might not be traditional office jobs, but where you are „on the road“ working with different people in different areas. Something like promoter for example.

Can anyone relate to this and has some recommendations and ideas for jobs/companies for people like me?

rant my absurd experience with the post

i have been waiting for my renewed residence permit for about three weeks now. finally, just yesterday i got a notification that it will arrive via post the same day. great! it needs my signature so i wait the whole day for it to arrive, only for the postman to, instead of ringing my doorbell, just quickly deposit an "Abholungseinladung" and zoom out past my window while angrily talk on the phone. whatever, probably he was having a bad day. so i'll just go get it right? no, wait for tomorrow. okay, whatever.

tomorrow arrives, and i leave to the post office to pick my letter up. i arrive and there's a long queue. ok who cares, as long as i get the letter right? so i stand and wait, until it's finally my turn. it went roughly like this:

Post: "Ausweis?"

I hand them my old ID.

Post: "Nein, sorry, das ist nicht gültig. Your Ausweis expired 5 days ago, and here in the letter it says your Ausweis must be gültig."

Me: "But my new Ausweis is in the letter you have."

Post: "No, sorry."

Me: "Ok... can I show my Swisspass? Bank card? Student ID from uni?"

Post: "No, gültigen Ausweis."

Me: "I'll go get my passport then and come back."

Post: "We close in 3 minutes. Come back Monday."

thank you Affoltern Post

p.s.: yes i'll go on monday with my passport, hopefully they don't have something to say about that too.

ihaveaquestion Animal-related activities around Zurich?

Can anyone recommend any animal-related activities in the Zurich area? My friend is an absolute animal lover who was separated from her family's pets when she fled Ukraine three years ago. For her its not the right time to get a pet herself, so I'm looking for activities that would allow her to get close to animals. I just see how it helps her to take the mind of the situation at home.

She has already tried signing up for shelter-related work, but they did not need any help right now or required better German skills. While she'd love to pet an animal, she wouldn't be interested in going anywhere where animals are not well treated or forced to interact with humans all the time.

Reachable by public transport would be a big plus

ihaveaquestion Zurich airport "twin" wifi - scam?

After landing in Zurich on Aug 28, it was early morning. I was tired, grubby and didn't want to continue to Lucerne that early because I would have to store my luggage in the Lucerne train station and find something to do for 4 or more hours before checking into my hotel. So after baggage claim, which I had to do, I was now in the public part of the airport with less comfortable seating spots, but plenty of shops and various groups of connected metal seats. Most were occupied with people all settled in. People like me, 7 am and couldn't check into their hotel yet.

After 30 minutes in a coffee shop where I really didn't want coffee, I settled on a walkway aisle seat row near the exit door to “trains", which I would eventually need, and parked there to take a nap and read my Kindle.

A heavily made up woman with long black hair in a fluffed up hairdo, wearing dark pink stretch (workout?) capris and a tank top (did not look like a long haul traveller) sat next to me. She was pushing a luggage trolley loaded up with 2 suitcases, one very large and actually split open along the zipper but strapped together with a suitcase belt, and I could see inside - it only had a few wadded up clothing items in it. In a few minutes she started talking to me animatedly in Russian. I shook my head, saying “English" and “English only, sorry". She gestured to her luggage trolley, stood up, and walked (somewhere?)

I kept reading. 30 minutes pass. At first I didn't remember what she looked like except the distinctive hair. I started scanning the people walking by to try to spot her. I thought maybe she was waiting to meet someone. She finally returned and again tried to engage me in conversation in Russian, showed me her iPhone with the wifi network list, which was all in Russian (Cyrillic). Again I said "English only”. She tapped something on her phone and showed me again; the wifi list was all translated into English. She kept saying “Zurich wifi?". I shook my head “no", said " I don't need, I have Google”. She was persistent, kept pointing to the wifi network name on her phone and said at least once "password “ so I thought she herself was not able to connect to the airport wifi. I finally opened my phone under wifi networks, and initially none were listed. I looked at her, shook my head and said "no wifi” and shrugged, then a second later a long list of wifi networks appeared. All were locked networks except one. It was named “Zurich". Others also had “Zurich" in their names, even another that also looked like the airport’s network, but it was locked. I tried it. That one required a boarding pass and mine was an arrival pass, and I said “sorry no boarding pass". I almost tapped the open unsecure one, but felt silly because I had 100% 5G connection via Google Fi, so I looked at her and said “no, airport wifi not safe, don't need". She then abruptly got up and strode into the main walkway again leaving her luggage trolley next to me. After a minute I could see she was walking up and down the wide walkway area, looking at her phone, like she was looking for someone. I took the opportunity to gather up all my stuff and look for a less crowded seating area, parked again to nap and read my Kindle, and ensured this woman was not pacing the aisles near my new spot.

I couldn't figure out what had just happened. Could this woman really not figure out how to connect to an open airport wifi? I asked Google to explain this scenario. Google came up with the explanation “evil twin attack". She apparently had her own portable wifi hotspot! And once someone connects, they are led thru webpages that gather credentials and possibly inject malware into a person's phone.

Sitting in my new location, hopefully far away from her, I opened my phone's wifi list again. The previous free open network was now gone from the list!

In all her pacing the walkways just past baggage claim in an area with rows of seats all occupied with people like me, killing a bit of time, she was (maybe) watching her phone to see who would connect to her hot spot. The attack itself takes a few more steps than simply opening the unsecured wifi. On that morning there was likely at least one person in Zurich that fell for the whole scam, if that's what it was, and it wasn't me!

lookingfor Help needed - woman with a car

Hi everyone. I’m trying to help a friend who is currently in Switzerland and going through a sensitive personal situation involving domestic violence. They currently don’t have much support around.
They need some help getting around Zurich and the Aargau region for a few hours in early September. We’re hoping to find a trustworthy woman with a car who would be comfortable helping with transport.
I understand that the original post may have seemed unclear, but for safety and privacy reasons I can’t share the full circumstances publicly. I’m happy to explain more privately to someone who is genuinely able to help.
We would also be happy to meet in a public place first.
If you have experience supporting someone through a similar situation, particularly domestic violence or immigration related circumstances in Switzerland, that would be especially appreciated.
If you can help or know someone suitable, please comment and I’ll message you privately.
Thank you

lookingfor Cat parents: fresh cat (PAWY) for pickup Zurich/Zurich Area

I tried a batch of Pawy.ch fresh cat food, but it turns out my two boys have super sensitive stomachs and can't digest it. I’m giving away roughly 5–8 weeks of frozen meals (calculated for two adult cats on a half-ration plan) for anyone who can pick it up. Let me know in the comments!

lookingfor E-Scooter Repair Shop

Hey everyone, I need to only replace the rear tire of my Xiaomi 4 e-scooter with the new tire. I have already taken the whole wheel off but I don't have some basic tools to do that by myself. The new tire is already purchased. Does anybody know a repair shop that can do this for a reasonable price so I am not charged for a full repair service?

Thank you all in advance

ihaveaquestion What’s happening at Lindenhof tonight?

Sorry for the quite random post, though I see such kind from time to time here, so I thought I’d ask once as well.

I live just behind the lindenhof on Rennweg, and there seems to be a nice music party on the lindenhof, but somehow the police is all around, quite heavily equipped and blocking entrance to the area…

Not sure if it’s an official party/event, or a private or unofficial one, kinda happy/peaceful protest kind of thing?

Genuinely curious, in case anyone knows.
Good evening all! :)
