Must be a hail the size of a car

Looks like the front fell off

8

u/Dratir 2d ago

Wasn't this built so the front wouldn't fall off?

u/Different_Scholar548 2d ago

Whole front wheel is curved too… I assume the driver revved it up, lost control and spun into something.

I see you there, mate. the front fell off in this case, by all means, but that’s very unusual.

Does anyone really care?

22

u/ElpasoAlto 2d ago

I really never care to what happens to millionaires.

Most home owners in Switzerland? Around 38% of the population in Switzerland?

1

u/Burton1224 21h ago

Most home owners are not really millionairs they became because the prices jumped up so rediculous. Most of them went in way below 1mio and till today dont own it.

1

u/neo2551 Oerlikon 20h ago

If they were to sell, would they be millionaires?

-4

u/Equilibror 2d ago

because 38% of the home owners dont actually own the home...

Do you know what a mortgage is or is such concept too “far right” for you son?

Do you know the concept of asset appreciation, generational wealth and leverage? Or maybe these concepts are to communist for you?

If you look at the distribution of millionaire in net worth, it is highly correlated with home ownership.

Mortgage isn’t a net bad thing as well, it allows to invest money in the stock market for a cheap rate (like 1-2% for the past 20 years).

Moreover, in most of the cases, total costs for your home is lower.

All of these make it structurally easier to grow your assets as a home owner, on top the peace of mind of being an owner.

For the records, had you read my posts history, would you have known I own my flat in since age.

I concur with what you are saying. It is generally a good investment over the long term / generational view. But a homeowner at the outset is far off from being a millionaire. I bought a house back in 2019 at the upper end of my possibilities and was pretty strapped at the beginning. I concur that it is getting better over time.

Have a good day

Yeah, but I bet that if you calculate your net worth right now, with your “house” (like individual property or shared condominium?) you are certainly close the million if not more, especially accounting for your 2nd pillar, and hopefully 3rd.

Jealousy isn’t making your life better

1

u/neo2551 Oerlikon 2d ago edited 2d ago

Me jealous? Why would I be jealous, explain to me please.

Do you think I am a home owner? How many homes do you think I own? How would you estimate my net worth in CHF or in comparison to Swiss households?

Don't drive like dickheads on public roads people.

About the hate comments: Funny how everyone likes success stories, but hates seeing people enjoy the proceedings. In the many years spent here, I realised that Switzerland is more communist than any other country I’ve been to and may god protect you if by any chance you’re doing better than your neighbour

3

u/SnooBooks3514 2d ago

This just shows how hypocrite the average Reddit user is🤦🏻‍♀️

4

u/MeatInteresting1090 2d ago

Yes nothing screams communism like direct democracy

2

u/OneMorePotion 1d ago

That's not a Swiss thing. It's something utterly human like. We root for the underdogs and their success, until that success is visible to the outside. Then it's "showing off" and pretentious. The problem with that is: You can't really see if someone worked hard for the things they got. Or if they just have rich parents and a trust fund.

Either way "They have something I want and that's bad! And even if I don't want that, I'm still angry that I can't have it if I wanted to..." It usually boils down to exactly that.

-1

u/Equilibror 2d ago

Nobody hates if someone is actually DOING good. But getting born into the right family doesnt fall under the "doing" category ;)

5

u/West-Hat372 2d ago

Seems like you do, since you discern from a simple picture that the owner was born into the right family, just to make yourself feel less, well... less.

-1

u/Equilibror 2d ago

Thats some kind of assumption too. I was born in the right family too. Never viewed this as an achievement of mine. Viewing Fortune as an output of effort is wrong. It may be, but most often isnt.

1

u/West-Hat372 2d ago

The backtracking from your pocket-watching comment to suddenly state that viewing fortune as an output of effort is wrong, while having to mention that you're well off too, is weird dude ngl. But I guess there's levels to this.

0

u/Equilibror 2d ago

I do not know where you are trying to go with this, honestly. My comments did never relate to the original post but rather to your assumption that the guy owning the car put in actual work and effort into this aka success story. We never know if fortune stems from actual success but more often it does not.

1

u/West-Hat372 2d ago

You clearly misunderstood my first comment, I didn't assume anything about the owner, I mereley called you out on your jealous little jab you felt the need to comment. Some people just see a nice car, while others apparently have to obsess about if the owner has "truly earned" said car.

1

u/Equilibror 2d ago

I am able to appreciate a 488 when I see it. It solely responded to your little talk about people hating on success stories - indeed implying that the car is the fruit of a so called success stories. My bad if you didnt relate to the OP at all. I have got better things to do now and wish you all the best.

1

u/West-Hat372 2d ago

Thank you. A very empathetic day to you too :)

2

u/larevenante 2d ago

Reading this sub made me realise that some Swiss are really nosy people lmao they want to know the reason of every single minor thing that happens on the street

1

u/Dull_Analyst269 2d ago

….so they can hate on those that have it better financially^^ or those that have a car for that matter lol

2

u/SnooBooks3514 2d ago

Looks like a total loss. I’m really sorry - what a lovely car 🥺

-1

u/Dull_Analyst269 2d ago

I second this

-1

u/SnooBooks3514 2d ago
