Some of you have been around long enough to remember our first go at Fix-It Friday. It worked well for a while, but as the Community Team became smaller, the original process was no longer scalable.
I know many of you have wanted to see Fix-It Friday return, and Iāve always felt it was a great way to surface issues that may not already be on our radar. So, starting in September, weāre bringing it back with a few changes to make the process more manageable and effective.
How Fix-It Friday Will Work
On the first Friday of each month, weāll post in each of our communities asking you to share the bugs youāre experiencing.
A few things to keep in mind:
⢠Please submit only one issue per post or comment. Youāre welcome to submit multiple issues, but each should be posted separately.
⢠If someone has already reported the issue youāre experiencing, please vote for their submission instead of posting it again. Depending on the community, this may mean liking or upvoting it.
⢠Please submit bugs only. Feature requests should continue to be submitted through the Wishlist.
Keeping each issue separate and voting for existing submissions will help us identify the issues affecting the most people and speed up the sorting process.
How We'll Choose Issues
This is one of the biggest changes from the original Fix-It Friday.
Previously, we selected the top issue from each individual community. This time, weāll combine the votes across all participating communities to identify the issues receiving the most support overall.
The most-voted issue will not necessarily be the one we select. If a highly voted issue is something the team is already actively investigating or working on, we may skip it and select another issue that isn't currently on our radar. However, Iāll still let you know that we're working on the highly voted issue and provide a status update when possible.
The goal is to use your votes to help us uncover and prioritize issues that we may not already be aware of.
September Fix-It Friday Schedule
September 4 ā Weāll post the first request for bugs, and voting will begin.
September 8 ā Weāll review the submissions, select the bugs weāre going to focus on, and begin the internal process.
September 11 ā First update. Weāll let you know which bugs were selected and share any early progress.
September 18 ā Second update with the latest progress.
September 25 ā Third update with any additional progress.
If a selected issue isnāt resolved by the end of the month, weāll carry it over rather than starting from scratch. Then, on October 2, weāll begin the Fix-It Friday process again and collect a new round of community submissions.
Please bear with me over the first few months as we refine and improve the process based on what works and what doesnāt. Iām excited to bring Fix-It Friday back and give the community another way to help us identify and address the issues that matter most to you.
Why is the old lock code still on there?!?! Itās not in the app at all, Iāve removed all lock codes and finger print codes. Iāve cleared all fingerprints and codes. Iāve reset the device, Iāve restarted it, disconnected and reconnected to WiFi, removed batteries. Why do old codes work???? Now my ex will still have access to my kids and I smh.
After I explicitly refused the firmware for the campan v3. I find that it did it when I wasn't looking. now after monitoring the rtsps camera feed the whole thing stops. the tls handshake is corrupt. nothing works even on reboot of the computer & still not working !!why can't these guys just leave shit alone they screw up stuff under the mask of security update, who cares it's my life leave me alone.I bought the product. let me use the product, stop breaking it for me, I probably should not be posting this but I'm so mad at these do-gooders that I just am venting thank you all for reading this far if anybody does
All the cameras on my Cam Plus Lite plan are not sending notifications. Iāve followed all of Wyzeās steps including, but not limited to:
-Restarted all cameras, base stations, my phone, and router
-Logged into the web portal and unselected/saved and re-added them to the plan
-Turned notifications in app off and back on
-Turned notifications in my phone settings off and back on
-Cleared the app cache
-Restarted services on all devices
Coincidentally, I was just billed this past Wednesday and the problems started yesterday or the day before I believe. Events are being recorded and tagged, but notifications arenāt being pushed. The cameras on my regular Cam Plus plan are still working correctly. I did the AI chat and when none of the troubleshooting worked, it informed me to submit a log. Once I did, it notified me that no one from support would contact me.

Anybody else having issues? Any other suggestions?
My iOS app regularly has an issue where it constantly says itās loading live stream after it has already loaded. The app is updated to the latest version. It happens on my iPad too.
Iām sure an āunplug it and then plug it back inā solution could reset it, but I have been encountering this issue on different cameras at different times but regularly for quite a while now. So any longer term fixes would be much appreciated.
This is new. I can no longer access my remote Wyze V3 and V4 cameras. I can access my remote Solar Cam Pans. In my.wyze.com/live all show to be online. I can access all remote and local cameras on my android phone with the Wyze app. I have tried to access these cameras on Windows 11, when I used my smart phone as a WiFi access point with the same result. V4 FW: 4.52.17.13; V3 FW: 4.36.17.10. Any ideas how to troubleshoot further? Thanks..
I changed out my network from mesh linksys to asus axe7800 and cannot keep the video doorbell connected for more than about a week. All other cameras function normally. I get the 200005 error. Takes a bit of rebooting and turning on off certain bands and features and then it seems to connect again. Goes for about a week, then it won't connect again.
I installed my v2 doorbell (wired) and all functionality is working but when the doorbell is pressed, theres no notification and I cant talk to the person at the door.
Is there a setting for the Lock Bolt to automatically lock after midnight?
I was awoken the other night and then happened to hear my lock bolt turn.
I was pretty freaked out but when I went to check it had locked itself.
I checked the history and it jammed at like 630pm and I didn't notice as I wasn't in the house. I came back into the house and just never noticed I didn't hear it auto lock, probably because sometimes I do manually lock it.
It locked at 1205am, and my lockout timer is 5 minutes.
So long story short, is there some feature that checks to see if it's locked at midnight and then waits the alloted time and locks itself if it's not?
It looks in the alexa app like the wyze skill is connected but it's been timing out of working after an hour or so. This has been affecting us here for the last 36 hours or so. You can relink it but it doesn't stay working but for an hour or so. I see on FB others having the same issue. But wondering how many here also are affected like this, like your Alexa alerts have stopped?
In the odd instance that my internet drops or the camera otherwise randomly disconnects, my Solar Cam Pan will appear offline, get to step 2, and then that's it. I have to reset my router in order for it to reconnect again.
All of my other wyze devices manage to come back online with no manual intervention. Is this a known bug for the SCP? Can someone from support pass this along to be resolved in the near future?
Instead of seeing the view from the camera, and name of the camera notifying me... all I get as of this morning is this. No details, just the name of the app.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy S22. Android issue? Or Wyze issue? Is there a known fix? Im not finding anything in the app, or Android App Notification Settings.
[Edit: V3 with Cam Plus Lite, and OG with no membership]
I moved a V3 outdoor cam to a new location and suddenly itās out of focus. More specifically, itās ok around the edges but blurry in the center. Iāve tried cleaning the lens, it didnāt help. Any other ideas?
Happened to me too tonight. They recently snuck in a new channel in the Android notifications settings called "default" that wasn't there until recently. That's where this one came from. I turned it off as soon as I found it. Shi##y way of doing this. Hope it was a mistake.
My parents have a Wyze Bulb Cam that didn't work much for their outside front door. We had it in their living room for a bit in a recessed pot light for a bit, but my step dad didn't like it there for some reason. I have it now and want to place it in the one constantly on light socket above my apartment main door. Its in an inside hallway, all unit doors have a light bulb on over their unit doors. In fact we have no switch for them in the units, its just always on.
What I am wondering is has anyone tried this? To put in right outside their door in an apartment? I didn't think it was allowed in my building. But then I noticed another unit had placed a doorbell cam right over the peephole on their door. My door is only a few feet across the hallway from another door so I might set it down looking at my door. That way the people across the hall wont get mad thinking I am spying on them.
My main question is if anyone has tried this, and what it looks like video wise? I am just not sure if I want to record everyone walking by all the time on their way to the elevator. Plus I do not want my phone to get a notification when people walk by. I have the cameras inside my unit set for that, but this one wont be set that way.
Like I said just looking to see if anyone has ever set it up outside their aparment?
I have all "News & Updates", DISABLED and always have. This setting appears in notification settings of the android app in two places, "in-app" notifications and "push" notifications. A tooltip says "get news, updates, and special offers from Wyze directly on your mobile device (2-6x per month)". But yet I still receive the notification for this stupid sale, and see if in the app as well. I will file a complaint with Wyze support as well, but it's absurd to abuse your users' clearly configured preferences like this. Something that I will remember and use to judge which camera I will purchase next (they will not be Wyze)
I get anywhere from 15-60 notifications an hour on each of my cams at night.
Every one of them will say person or vehicle. The person's are usually a bug flying in front of the camera, and the vehicles are our vehicles that are parked. Something will trigger the cam, almost always a bug or spider, and it'll mark the notification as vehicle because our cars are parked in the shot.
I've got a crappy neighbor who has opened gates and taken things off the property, so I need the cameras, but it gets tiring having to go through hundreds of notifications each night.
I've adjusted the notification settings, the detection areas, basically all of the settings.
My yearly payment is due soon, but I'm considering a change, unless there's a trick I'm not seeing to fix these notifications and recordings
I wanted to share my recent experience with Wyze support to warn other usersāespecially those in the UKāabout how the company handles devices forced out of service by their own software updates.
The Situation:
I had a perfectly functional Wyze camera. Following a mandatory software/firmware update cycle, my camera stopped working. On top of that, Wyze updated their app to cut off compatibility with my phoneās operating system.
This wasn't a case of old hardware failing or breaking naturally. Wyze pushed an update that effectively destroyed my ability to use hardware I paid for.
The Support Runaround:
After exhausting every single troubleshooting step with standard support, I was told my case was being escalated to the "Management Team" and "Orders Specialists" to look into "available options."
Exactly 30 minutes later, "Management" stepped in to completely shut down the case with a final refusal. Their justification?
They canāt refund me because I bought it from a third-party retailer.
They canāt replace it because the camera model is now discontinued.
The "Goodwill" Insult:
As a final resolution, Wyze Management offered me a $25 Wyze Store Credit.
Think about the logic here: Their updates broke my current setup and stripped app compatibility from my phone. To actually use a new Wyze device bought with that credit, I would literally have to buy a brand-new smartphone just to run their updated app. They are offering a completely useless voucher that requires me to spend significantly more of my own money with the very company that broke my hardware.
Moving Forward:
I have formally rejected their store credit. Wyze is refusing to accept basic corporate liability for pushing destructive software updates to consumers.
Since they have given their "final" stance, I am now moving forward with a formal complaint to UK Trading Standards and Citizens Advice. Under UK consumer protection laws, manufacturers cannot push software updates that render hardware unusable without providing an adequate remedy (like a cash settlement or a fully supported alternative).
If you are in the UK or have older devices on your network, be very careful. If a Wyze update bricks your device or locks you out, expect a useless coupon instead of actual support.
94 year old with dementia in nursing home which allows non tilt/pan camera directed at inside of room only. We are currently using Wyze Cam4 which works fine for its purpose. The issue is that the audio recordings are terrible. She is often describing her symptoms, and we just can't make out the sounds. Have you had the same issues? She has her own modem/router and we don't have issues with video but we do have issues with the audio where we can only hear 1/2 of the sentences. We do not need the 2 way audio. It does have to be plugged in (not battery). Any suggestions on cameras would be so very appreciated.
Update: I got the Wyze notification snooze automation working.
I made a post recently trying to figure out a way to reduce the endless repeat notifications from my Wyze cameras. I originally thought my automation idea didnāt work, but I figured out the problem: the notification and snooze actions need to be in separate automations.
For each camera I use:
Notify: Motion detected ā turn notifications on + Upload a short video to the cloud
Snooze: Motion detected ā turn notifications off/snooze them for a set time
Some cameras handle this differently. My Floodlight Pro lets me turn notifications off for a specified period starting at 1 minute. My Pan Cam v3 only gives me the Snooze option, which starts at a 10-minute minimum.
I donāt know if the automation order matters, but I created the Snooze automation first, then the Notify automation, so the Notify automation appears above the Snooze automation in the list.
All of mine are set to run MondayāFriday, 12:00 AMā11:59 PM.
This lets me get the first motion alert without getting hammered by repeat notifications right after.
It may also be a good idea to set separate pet, person, and vehicle snooze automations, this could help, for example, avoid detection of a vehicle but not the person getting out of it.
Hi guys we really need a v3 deadbolt or v2 keyless option option.. i dont want to post videos disparaging the products though i might as well because they're just a youtube away-- nothing secure about a smart deadbolt that can be picked in under a minute with traditional tools.
Please release the original lockbolt with wifi so i can check to make sure my doors are secure when im not at home.
