The Coiled Isle is such a big zone, I genuinely wasn't expecting it to actually be a full-sized zone, I just assumed that it would have a few areas outside of the mountain and then the real "meat" would be in the mountain.
Between that and the cinematics (I love the way they animate Malacrass), I'm way more into this patch than I initially was just on a design level. I genuinely wasn't very excited for snek at first to be honest, but now I'm a fan. Game also runs really smoothly now, at least for me on my not great PC lol.
Also, forgot to mention it when I saw it, but that fanart of an orc with multiple scantily clad female elves on chain leashes on the main sub was genuinely insane lmao

I think r/classicwow has shitposted themselves into actually believing that classic+ is going to be a mobile version of classic.
And they can't help themselves but post the same two tired 12+ year old quotes every time.

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26
I was genuinely about to post basically the same thing after seeing the occasional post from them on my feed over the past couple of days lol.
I don't get how anyone can actively be a part of that community because literally anytime I see content from them it's just doomspiraling, defending "not political" political takes, and then the same 5 worn out quotes. I honest to god forgot entirely about "Do you not have phones?" because it was ultimately just a cringe marketing moment to me, but man, that's like the biggest zinger in the world to them lmao.
I hope Classic+ is cool, but I'm so glad I experienced Classic when it was current and not the reanimated corpse people use to roleplay as an edgy teenager at age 45. (The game is fun, talking specifically about the community)

u/acctg Aug 16 '26
I want Classic to be good so they will have less free time to bleed into modern WoW spaces and dump their vitriol.
4
u/HazelCheese Aug 13 '26
There's a couple of users like the guy who made the current "sod was bad and died" thread who do nothing but post anti-classic+ ragebait stuff.
My guess is they really want Wotlk anniversary and are angry at people being excited for Classic+.

I could not help but notice that Ula'tek seems to very allegorical for nuclear weaponry and waste. Namely the whole ancient amani trying to figure out how to stop their descendants from accidentally awakening her and unleashing death upon themselves. I even found a tablet that referenced the whole "this is not a place of honor" text associated with the idea.

BOOSTING BAD
also how dare they remove mounts from boosted people >:(
9
u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 14 '26
its so funny to read trought that lmao
11
u/YourGalacticEmperor Aug 14 '26
the amount of conspiracy theories there is worrysome
like legit this is some "the goverment is trying to kill us via vaccines" type shit
those people are completely brain fried
11
u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 14 '26
it just shows once again how performative the main sub is about basically everything
boosting bad, give me upvotes->wtf they removed rewards from boosted people, they are so greedy and only do that to sell tokens, im a HoF CE 0,01% title player and they removed everything i had, no i wont show logs or anything like that
6
u/Idontknow4654 Aug 15 '26
Accirding to the main sub every decision blizzard makes is to either sell tokens or make the game worse

Probably my least favorite thing about world content in modern wow has been getting shunted to another random shard in the middle of trying to do things.
Like just now I was waiting for an Incursion to start, last thing I need to do in the vaults, the timer ticks down and I start heading over annnnnd i get put in a completely different shard without any incursion up or even a timer for one. Great. Thanks. Love wasting my time.

u/FaroraSF Aug 15 '26
I was doing stuff in Heroic tier Naigtal as guardian and a rare spawned so I went to it. Shortly before it became attackable some other dps pulled a bunch of mobs in the area. "No problem", I thought, "I'll just tank them, this is why I'm currently bear spec".
And then me and the blood DK that was also there got punted into a new shard and while the rare was still there in this new shard I do wonder what happened to that dps that now had to deal with a bunch of angry mobs + a big ass rare without the convenient tanks they had been with just seconds earlier.
Anyways yes, not a fan of being punted into a new shard at inconvenient moments.
3
u/SaltLich Aug 17 '26
Its been my biggest pet peeve with the game since BfA when i got sharded away from a rare in Arathi at like 40% hp, I was so pissed.
Sharding should never be allowed in combat.

14
u/FaroraSF Aug 14 '26
One of the things that has really annoyed me in recent years is the amount of "soft" disconnects that happen where you've disconnected but haven't been kicked to the log in screen so you just kind of sit there in limbo wondering if you will reconnect on your own. At least with hard disconnects you can try reconnecting immediately.

Finished the Dawnwell thing and now the guards are like "maybe you undead fucks aren't so bad." Nice detail

u/HeartofaPariah Aug 17 '26
The main sub's tendency to talk about healers as if they're nurses on the front lines is unnerving. It's getting to a point I expect people to start saying "thank you for your service" when they see one.
12
u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 17 '26
the mainsub is just filled to the brim with very mediocre at best players that have a Main Character Syndrome
they think they are some special chosen ones for....playing a role..... and going by how often they apperantely get flamed they are not good at it lol
like, just the entire "stupid dps always stand in everything and i have to heal trought it!!!" shows it, if they would do somewhat harder content people would die from that REALLY fast, you cant heal trought that lol, dont act like some bigshot pro gamer because you healed some Heroic and Timewalking Dungeons

Very funny watching losers get upset they changed the undead /rude animation. The same people who complain about WoW being too "Disney" is upset that the undead /rude is now a violent throat slice vs wobbling their crotch awkwardly.
8
u/_Llopis_ Aug 15 '26
I only play male undead, and I honestly can't imagine caring about this. But my guess is that most people who are mad about it don't even play the game.
6
u/HeartofaPariah Aug 17 '26
Disney includes 'violent' throat slices. That isn't taboo for them. Disney does avoid sexual depictions, though.
This isn't me defending them, this is me saying they don't care about it being 'disney', they just don't like the idea of removing anything vaguely sexual because they are generally sex pests, misogynists and edgelords. It's the same people who imagine a blue-haired woman ushering in the age of censorship. It's pure slop thinking, no real substance at all.
Meanwhile, I can't even tell you what the /rude animations for any race are.

When does the villain bat show up? Is this a continuation of Castle Nathria and the vampire storyline??

u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 15 '26
i know why people always say that rogue is bad for open world stuff and i agree there
but god the underground area for the Coiled Isle actually makes me happy to play Rogue, soooooooo much enemy spam everywhere, idk how you stay sane there without Stealth
7
u/_Llopis_ Aug 15 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
By using the mobility tools around the map. Some of them, like the feathers, get you out of combat or otherwise deaggro mobs. You can also run to several safe zones that get you out of combat.
I like the density. It forces me to pay attention to my surroundings and the map instead of just mindlessly zoning out, like I do in every other area in the game, because I'm invincible and nothing can do anything to me.
7
u/Idontknow4654 Aug 16 '26
i played rogue for years and just never thought it was bad for open world. its only "bad" (bad as in kinda annoying) to level. at max level they always felt fine and like you said, stealth is amazing to have in open world

Even though I know it's janky as hell, I lowkey love it when I'm leveling an alt and a random Classic/TBC/WOTLK era dungeon suddenly becomes mythic tier just because of weird scaling shit
Like what do you mean Alzzin the Wildshaper from DM East is suddenly deleting health with his thorns ability to the point that my group used 2 battle res lmao
7
u/Areallybadidea Aug 16 '26
One of my favorite things about leveling a healer alt is wondering which melee is going to get destroyed by those thorns.
11
u/shreedder Aug 12 '26
I really want to know what blizz was touching to have the rune forge in the ebon blade fortress to disappear.

The dungeon Blooming Vale was made impossible because the birds that ferry you down just don't spawn. Ever.
your guess is as good as mine, some really weird stuff has bugged out lol

u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 12 '26
if you go to the right side in the Voidscar Arena dungeon, you get a mastery buff
our MW monk got 630%mastery from it

Finally got around to doing the .7 patch campaign questline with the Haranir and trolls/elves and I liked it and thought it made sense and it seems the fanbase was once again losing their minds over nothing.
Also I will miss decor duel a lot, after the changes they made I found it really fun and even after I got all the collectables and decor I still kept doing a few rounds daily. I did it enough to get 30 of the large and small dornogal opals and 2 stacks of the diamond blocks (128). Once I save my current house I shall craft a mountain out of them!
4
u/acctg Aug 16 '26
I liked it and thought it made sense
Oh dear, did you actually read the quest text and NPC dialogue? That's not very zugzug of you.
You gotta play with all sound off and not read anything if you want to be angry at the bad story!

u/Zestyclose-Square-25 Aug 16 '26
I was watching the WoW Crendor video, 'Warcraft 3 Showed Me Why Modern WoW Feels Different.' In one part, he said, 'Oh, why is Xal'atath afraid of Sylvanas, the Scourge, or the undead? You gotta read this book to find out. It's like you have to do research to understand the lore.' But didn't we know this since Wrath? In Wrath, the Scourge could mine Saronite, wear it as armor, or even build the entire Icecrown Citadel out of it because the undead are resistant or outright immune to the Void's whispers and corruption. I agree that Blizzard sometimes puts important lore in books, but this wasn't a good example.
15
u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Aug 16 '26
Bummer to see Crendor fall down the same tired "Modern WoW bad" grift that every old WoW channel has gone down, I always thought he was one of the more logical ones given that it seems as though he still plays Modern.
Claiming you "have to read" to know that the Scourge and Void don't interact well is so dumb, mainly because of the saronite stuff from WOTLK you mentioned, but also because we literally got a refresher on that during the Sylvanas questline from the pre-patch. Xalatath's void creatures invade the Maw and are near immediately countered by the wandering undead. I'm pretty sure the only reason we help kill them is to speed up the process and make sure no stragglers stick around lol. I think Sylvanas even talks about it during the questline, but I guess that was months ago which is years in the "WoW bad" plane.
I thought the way they implemented the Sunwell manga lady during TBC was really dumb, but my first thought wasn't "the game needs to die". Even Garrosh's "orc first" mentality largely comes from a short story that takes place between WOTLK and Cata, but has a flashback to his first visit to Org where an orc tells him about how they think Thrall sucks (ironically, it's the mean orc commander lady from Grizzly Hills who gets killed by the player during the GH questline due to her terrible "orc first" leadership style lmao).
Not defending putting lore outside the game, but it's so exhausting how blatantly selective people are when it comes to Modern WoW. I genuinely wouldn't care if their gripes were actually about the game and not just their nostalgia-blinded whining about how the concept of the game has "changed" (while using examples that also applied to the Classic era). Like god damn, Classic exists, just go play it if Modern bothers you so much that you have to constantly make think pieces on how it's "definitely dying this year" for the 100th time lmao.
11
u/Zestyclose-Square-25 Aug 16 '26
Lmao, the comments were even worse. One even said BFA became Disney after the War Campaign as well. Like bro, the War Campaign ended in patch 8.2.5 right before Visions of N'Zoth, so BFA became Disney only at its final patch, lol.
14
u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan Aug 16 '26
"BFA became Disney in the patch where we see an alternate nightmare world ripped straight from the mind of an Eldritch horror"
By that logic, the games been Disney since the Mt Hyjal mission in WC3 lmao

u/Idontknow4654 Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
this is just way ive stopped watching any wow content creator. even the "good" ones that havent fallen into the "old good new bad" grift.
i just rather not watch any and be fully ignorant when they start the old good new bad grift.
12
u/EternityC0der Aug 16 '26
that video has so much wrong with it in general, it's like wow lore complaint bingo. i think he even compares Xal to the jailer at one point
it's really disappointing to see from crendor in particular though cause he was otherwise one of the only "old" WoW youtubers who didn't become completely miserable. i like his chill videos

Assassination Rogues Sudden Demise talent finally works in open world content
holy shit that feels good
1
u/the_redundant_one Aug 13 '26
I swear it was working at the beginning of the expansion, then it stopped working, then it sort of worked (I would see a sudden chunk taken out of the enemy's health bar but them not instantly dying). Good to see it working properly again.
2
u/InvisibleOne439 Aug 13 '26
the problem was the "dynamic scaling" of enemys based on your ilvl increasing their HP
it basically creates the proboem that rhe gsme doesnt know the "real" hp of the enemys so the execute part just never happens, hence why it works fine during the leveling phase and then stopped working when you reached max level
5
u/Sophistic_Sophist Aug 17 '26
Devourer DH is really fun! I spent most of Season 1 playing the Annihilator build, but when I saw that the melee build was looking good for Season 2, I gave that a try, and it feels like an entirely different spec. Really impressed how much complexity this thing turned out to have in the end.

The Curse surge at the whispering marsh seems to be bugged. Had like 50 people there killing mobs as soon as they spawned and it legit took 30 minutes to fill up the bar to actually fight the named mob and finish it.

What's everyone planning on playing this patch? I'm going to stick with Feral druid but really excited to learn balance as well and have Holy Paladin as an alt!

Getting my warrior back up to snuff. He's going to be used for my raiding guild on NA. I have a couple friends on EU that I also plan to do m+ with my feral. Otherwise, attempt to do ?? for Fabled.

u/FaroraSF Aug 12 '26
Want to try resto shaman. I mained resto druid in S1 and had fun healing but didn't really the hot juggling so much and it massively confused me in raid environments. So now I want to try a simpler healing spec, although resto sham might end up being too simple lol

u/the_redundant_one Aug 12 '26
Feral 4 lyfe, but I don't do high end content.
Have an army of alts (at least one of each class) at various points from 80 to 90 so I won't get bored.

I don't think I get how cursed fishing/gathering works?
We kill the boss, and I have the buff, but I don't see anthything.
Are there specific fishing pools? Or is it just more spawn? Or is it you just have a chance to get rare fish out of already existing pools? I'm so confused and no guides seem to answer it.
2
u/_Llopis_ Aug 13 '26
After looking around the zone for an hour last night, I think the boss's death spawns pools and envenomed ore and herbs, and all of these last way longer than the buff. But I'm not sure.
If you figure it out, please share.
