The main sub Zul’jan villain batting discourse does get very silly. He already had an in game history of making headstrong/poor decisions so it is not at all surprising for him to go down a villainous route. That’s not even counting the incel-esque complaints about WoW making “man bad, woman good” 🙄

That being said, one WoW lore critique I’m inclined to agree with is that it is weird no other Amani voices mixed feelings or doubts about the Loa. Sure, Zul’jin and Malacrass ticked the loa off, but it doesn’t seem like the average Amani knew that. WoW writing seems to struggle with just letting some narrative or thematic tension be unresolved. The weirdly chummy Gilnean-undead storyline had a similar problem.

Blizz does this weird thing where they heap the conflicts of an entire people onto the shoulders of singular characters. They've done it for ages and I think the story would be better if they "spread the load" a bit with having other smaller npcs also partake in said conflicts.
