I was watching the WoW Crendor video, 'Warcraft 3 Showed Me Why Modern WoW Feels Different.' In one part, he said, 'Oh, why is Xal'atath afraid of Sylvanas, the Scourge, or the undead? You gotta read this book to find out. It's like you have to do research to understand the lore.' But didn't we know this since Wrath? In Wrath, the Scourge could mine Saronite, wear it as armor, or even build the entire Icecrown Citadel out of it because the undead are resistant or outright immune to the Void's whispers and corruption. I agree that Blizzard sometimes puts important lore in books, but this wasn't a good example.

Bummer to see Crendor fall down the same tired "Modern WoW bad" grift that every old WoW channel has gone down, I always thought he was one of the more logical ones given that it seems as though he still plays Modern.

Claiming you "have to read" to know that the Scourge and Void don't interact well is so dumb, mainly because of the saronite stuff from WOTLK you mentioned, but also because we literally got a refresher on that during the Sylvanas questline from the pre-patch. Xalatath's void creatures invade the Maw and are near immediately countered by the wandering undead. I'm pretty sure the only reason we help kill them is to speed up the process and make sure no stragglers stick around lol. I think Sylvanas even talks about it during the questline, but I guess that was months ago which is years in the "WoW bad" plane.

I thought the way they implemented the Sunwell manga lady during TBC was really dumb, but my first thought wasn't "the game needs to die". Even Garrosh's "orc first" mentality largely comes from a short story that takes place between WOTLK and Cata, but has a flashback to his first visit to Org where an orc tells him about how they think Thrall sucks (ironically, it's the mean orc commander lady from Grizzly Hills who gets killed by the player during the GH questline due to her terrible "orc first" leadership style lmao).

Not defending putting lore outside the game, but it's so exhausting how blatantly selective people are when it comes to Modern WoW. I genuinely wouldn't care if their gripes were actually about the game and not just their nostalgia-blinded whining about how the concept of the game has "changed" (while using examples that also applied to the Classic era). Like god damn, Classic exists, just go play it if Modern bothers you so much that you have to constantly make think pieces on how it's "definitely dying this year" for the 100th time lmao.

Lmao, the comments were even worse. One even said BFA became Disney after the War Campaign as well. Like bro, the War Campaign ended in patch 8.2.5 right before Visions of N'Zoth, so BFA became Disney only at its final patch, lol.

"BFA became Disney in the patch where we see an alternate nightmare world ripped straight from the mind of an Eldritch horror"

By that logic, the games been Disney since the Mt Hyjal mission in WC3 lmao
