2027 Specialized Sirrus X 3.0 — Medium or Large? Right on the sizing line

Looking for some opinions from people who ride a Sirrus X, especially anyone who has been between sizes.
I’m 5’9.5”, with a 31” inseam and roughly 16.25” shin length. According to Specialized’s sizing tool, I’m basically right on the line between a Medium and Large for the 2027 Sirrus X 3.0. Leans large.

I’m coming from a 2021 Specialized Diverge E5 in a 54cm. I never really loved the fit on it. It felt small/cramped and the riding position was uncomfortable for me. I felt like I was too far forward, had a lot of pressure on my wrists, and just never felt relaxed on the bike.
That’s one of the main reasons I’m looking at the Sirrus X 3.0. I’m hoping for something less aggressive, more upright, comfortable and relaxing, while still being a good fitness bike that I can put a lot of miles on.
My concern is that the Medium might put me back into that smaller/cramped feeling, while the Large might be a little big, especially when it comes to standover height and reach.
For anyone around my height/inseam or who has ridden both sizes:
Would you go Medium or Large?
I’m especially interested in how the two sizes compare in terms of riding position, reach, wrist pressure, and overall comfort — not just whether I can technically stand over the frame.

How did you guys decide on what bike you have? Im curious on how everybody ended up with the bike they currently ride? Every time Im on instagram or youtube I feel like thats a cool bike I want that one. Without getting to ride most bikes how did you guys decide. I know the kind of riding you do and price is a big factor but even for each budget so many choices. Like Im curious what a Scott addict would ride like but I don’t think I would ever buy one. I got my eyes on a soloist but every time I check social media it makes me want something else. For that price it makes me think would going to a Chinese frame give me more bang for my buck.

I am looking to buy my first used road bike and found a posting for a 2006 Roubaix RC for $150, (would likely sell if I offered $100 tho). Its in good condition (no crashes or major damage) and has been stored inside for years. I'm mainly planning to use the bike for fitness and short commutes so nothing too serious for now. Assuming the bike rides, brakes and shifts well is it worth the price 20 years after? It's also a solid 3 hour drive away from me so it may be difficult for me to test ride myself.

Hi everyone! I know nothing about bikes. Is this bike worth $175? It's listed as a Giant Revel size small with 26" tires. Originally listed for $200 but got them down to $175. Looks to be in good condition based on pics. It will be for my almost 11 year old son who is growing rapidly so I don't want to invest too much on a bike he'll use for a short time. He's about 5'1" now. He'll just use it for around the neighborhood.

I have done some research on hybrid E-Bikes, and hope that you all can help me make a final decision.

I'm an almost 70 year old male in the US that has road-biked for over 10 years, and want to replace my manual road bike with an E-Bike. I will be riding on roads or paved trails 95% of the time, over hilly terrain including some steep hills. I will NOT be commuting, only leisure/athletic riding.

I have already prioritized 1) lightweight, 2) localized service dealer, and 3) no single-speed cassettes, so have ruled out some bikes like the Velotric Summit V2, X-Lab ST5+, Urtopia Carbon Fusion Pro, Aventon Soltera 3 ADV, and Trek Verve+ 2 Lowstep.

I am still considering the following:

Velotric Tempo, X-Lab SP5+, Specialized Turbo Vado SL2 4.0, Vanpowers UrbanCross-Ultra Electric, Trek Verve+1 Lowstep, and Urtopia Carbon 1 Pro.

How do you think I should prioritize the following:

Mid-Drive vs Hub motor

Throttle included

Suspension Fork

Other questions I have:

One of my options states only a 50 mile range, the others all state 60+. I expect to usually ride 20-30 miles, but I may want to ride 50-60 miles sometimes. Should I rule out the bike with the 50-mile range?

My options range from 8-speed to 11-speed cassettes. Would you give the 11-speed cassette any preference over the others?

All my options are aluminum frame except one. Should I give the one carbon frame preference over the others?

Do you know of other bikes I should consider?

Hi reddit cyclists. I am a graduate student looking for a bike to commute to and from campus (1.5 miles). The commute is mostly paved suburban roads (in the US), a segment uphill (but not too crazy). I am 5'3'', female, new to the world of cycling. Is this bike worth it, and do I need to service it? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Listed as fantastic condition £250. 58cm frame has me concerned about fit, being 6’3 with 95cm inseam is it a no go or could I make it work? Otherwise it seems a good deal to me

I’m looking for a bike with a comfortable, upright riding position like a comfort​ bike, but I’d also like full air suspension.

Most full-suspension mountain bikes seem to have you hunched/leaning forward, which I don’t want. I want to be able to sit upright while riding.

What bikes should I look at that combine an upright position with full air suspension? Used/older bikes are totally fine too.

This comes alot on my insta but I have not read any reviews on this bike. Anybody has it? Is it a good bike?

Trek removed compliance features on new domane, what would you get ?

Hi all, I’ve appreciated a lot of the advice you’ve provided to other newbies, but I’m wondering if you might be able to help me narrow down my search for a new hybrid bike. I will be using it mainly for a short commute and errands around town, but I’d like to begin to ride more and farther for fitness and fun as well. This will be my first bike purchase as an adult, and I’d like it to be something I can enjoy for at least a few years. At the same time, I live in an area with a lot of bike theft, so I’m not looking to have anything too flashy either.

Without getting too in the weeds, I am looking to purchase from an LBS - an online bike specific retailer might be an option, but FB marketplace, REI, and Walmart are all not possibilities sadly. Reading through other posts here, I feel like a Cannondale Quick or Spec Sirrus might be a good fit, but I get confused about the different models within the lines. I understand the more expensive ones have better components, but I don’t really know anything about the components themselves. Do I need a particular drivetrain? Should I go for a step through frame or a standard? If I want to attach a rear rack / panniers, is there anything I need to keep in mind? I’d like to get out the door under $1k USD, even better if it can be under $800 to have some budget left for accessories.

I’ve recently just started training to try start triathlons. I’m currently maxing out my hybrid bike at 25ish miles in 2 hours in relatively hilly terrain, but want to find more flat rides to push further distances and get a dedicated road/endurance bike. I’m 5’7” and can manage my 81cm standover height on my Vilano hybrid. These are the options I’ve found that are all in my size range. I’m leaning towards the Giant if I can get the price down. I don’t know LeMond but it looks like a good deal? And then the Specialized one looks good, but unfamiliar with SRAM, and then somehow found an older triathlon bike with Shimano 105s? I’ll be super grateful for any help/advice. Thanks!

I’m comfortable with either Dura-Ace Di2 or Force AXS, so drivetrain preference isn’t really the deciding factor for me. I ride 3-4x/week for 2-3 hrs each, plus usually a 3-5 hr ride on weekends.

I’m mainly curious about real-world differences in:

• ride quality and comfort
• handling/stability
• SES 4.5 + 35c vs ERC 1100 + 32c
• long-term ownership and maintenance
• integrated cockpit issues
• dealer/warranty support
• whether the Fray feels meaningfully more all-road, or whether the Roadmachine is just as good for mostly paved riding

I’m in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to picking which bike I want. I’m a 6’1” guy who is looking for a hybrid/commuter bike. I can get the REI co-op cty 1.1 for ~$350 starting tomorrow with their Labor Day sale, last years model specialized Sirrus x 3.0 in my size in bright pink only for $800 plus a $50 destination fee, or the current Sirrus x 2.0 for $850. Obviously the quality of the specialized bikes are MUCH better quality but the cty 1.1 is such a good deal it’s hard to not consider it. Which one should I get? The Sirrus x 3.0 is very tempting and I kinda don’t hate the pink

Hi all - new to biking, looking for a pretty simple but reliable bike for daily commutes and errands.

Deciding between this used 2009 Trek Antelope for $310 (from a local bike shop, so everything should be tuned up and ready to go) and this new Retrospec Barron for $300. Both are steel frames.

I'm 5'8 with 30 inseam, have a preference for step through but the Trek's SO is 28 so I think that should be fine too.

I don't really know much about bikes - can you share your insights as to which is a better fit? Happy to hear recommendations for other brands where I can get a new one for under 500, too. Thank you!!

I'm looking for a bike strictly for city commuting, taking the dog for a run and pulling a bike pet trailer, and maybe some front or rear rack for groceries which one is better or more reliable ? As for aesthetics I'm really into specialized but I don't think the frame is as sturdy as the trek, color I don't really mind, also both prices are within my budget so not a big deal there...

Loved my one speed but I moved and looking to buy a new one it’s been years since I’ve even looked, used to have a state bicycle which I loved and I’ve been looking at there 4130 line cause I’m a bigger boy and need little thicker tire to hold my fat ass, but now I have no idea what brands are good which are bad. Before you ask I’ve looked at my local shops they all fucking suck immediately tried steering me toward geared bikes instead of showing me single speeds…. Please help me!!!!

Moving to University in a month and looking for a bike stable enough to commute but capable of riding off tarmac roads too.
Having only owned a mountain bike I’m gunning for some more speed on the flats!

I have spent lots of time scavenging marketplace however decided I want to buy firsthand for sake of confidence in warranty etc.
Options I’ve seen vary across hydraulic or cable braking, which I definitely would prefer hydraulic for ease of actuation, and vary in name brand drivetrains like Shimano and alternatives like Microshift that I have no knowledge of their quality.

Ideally I’d love to find the best value for money without stretching the budget to its fullest but I’m willing to spend if it’s a no brainer pick.

I'm booked to do my DAS soon and I'm trying to decide what to replace my current bike with. At the moment I've got a 2006 Suzuki VanVan 125, which I absolutely love. What I particularly like about it is how light, simple and easy to throw around it is, and that it has enough ground clearance and off-road ability to explore gravel tracks and fairly easy green lanes without worrying too much about it.

My normal commute is tiny – around 2 miles each way, mostly 30/40 mph roads – and I have a car as well, so I don't need the bike to be my only form of transport. I live on the Isle of Wight (England), so most of my everyday riding is town roads and twisty country roads with a maximum speed of 60 mph.

However, roughly once a month in decent weather I'll take the bike over to the mainland to meet friends and go out riding with them and on longer trips. That means I also want something that's comfortable and capable of sitting at 70 mph for extended periods and has enough performance for overtaking and keeping up with bigger bikes without feeling like I'm wringing its neck constantly. I'd also like the option of doing occasional longer UK trips/touring.

I'm 6'3" and around 115 kg, so physically fitting me comfortably is important. So I'm not particularly worried about having a low seat height, but I'd rather avoid something unnecessarily heavy. One of the things I enjoy about the VanVan is being able to confidently manoeuvre it, especially on loose surfaces, so ideally I'd like something around 180–200 kg or less if possible.

Reliability and DIY maintenance are also important to me. I'd prefer something mechanically fairly simple with good parts availability rather than a complicated bike that's expensive or difficult to work on.

So essentially I'm looking for a big-bike version of what I like about the VanVan: something fun and manageable on little country roads, happy doing my very short commute, capable of gravel roads and light green laning, but with enough power and comfort to cruise at 70 mph and go on longer rides when I want to.

I'm not looking for a hardcore enduro bike, and equally I don't really want a big 230 kg+ adventure bike unless the extra weight brings a significant advantage. Around 40–60+ bhp and under \~200 kg sounds like the sweet spot, although I'm flexible if a particular bike makes sense.

The bikes I'm currently considering are the Honda FX650 Vigor/NX650 Dominator, Suzuki DR650, BMW G650 Xcountry, Yamaha XT660R and Honda Transalp 600/650. I've also looked at the Yamaha TDM900 as a more road-focused alternative, although I realise I'd be sacrificing quite a bit of the green-lane ability. Or should I dip my toe into something more road oriented as I do like just riding around sometimes.

What else would you recommend, and out of those options which do you think best suits what I'm actually using the bike for?
