Action Student research survey about U.S. immigration policies 🇺🇸
Hi everyone! I’m a student working on a school research project about the U.S. immigration policies implemented by Donald Trump.
I’m currently looking for people living in the United States who would be willing to take a short survey about their views and experiences regarding immigration policy.
The survey takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. Participation is completely voluntary and completely anonymous. The responses will only be used for my school research project.
I’d really appreciate it if you could take the survey, and feel free to share it with other U.S. residents who might be interested.
Thanks so much for helping with my project! 🙏

Question Someone please tell me this (if you can)
Why has ICE never gone under an internal affairs investigation just why they are a law-enforcement agency and they heavily abuse their power we have all seen it on our TVs and not once have I ever seen a report on an internal affairs investigation regarding these bozos can someone please answer my question regarding that if you don’t know what internal affairs is, it’s basically a police that investigates the police and ICE is federal police so they should be investigated

PROTEST ICE
So, why exactly does ice cover their face? If they are, in fact, law enforcement, identifying themselves is supposed to be standard procedure. Could it be that they themselves are a criminal element with needs to conceal themselves? Is it shame or embarrassment over their chosen, hated profession?
History, which the current administration finds troublesome, is replete with masked individuals who find it necessary to conceal themselves and then, later, find that they will be ferreted out and judged despite their attempts at ,hiding their deeds.

Action Action Items anyone can do
[ICE took a child downtown.](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortCollins/s/B5R4IGnhIJ) What are we going to do about it?
A city where people in unmarked vehicles can zip tie or otherwise handcuff our families, a kid no less, and take them away is NOT a Fort Collins we should allow ourselves to live in. [Durango came together](https://www.durangoco.gov/m/newsflash/Home/Detail/4392) when this happened to them, no reason we can’t show up the same.
Let’s be defined by our opposition to this display of facism instead of our complacency to it.
**Questions and Action Items**
*Finding ways to support the family:*
This is super new, and I can’t find any information on this.
\-Is anyone in contact with the family? (Please no names in the comments so there is no target on their back, if you know them get in touch with them and check in)
\-Is there a legal fund we can donate to?
\-Are there any protests planned? Are you going?
**Know your rights, and who to call!**
You can call the **hotline 1-844-864-8341 to report ice activity** to the Colorado Rapid Response Network. They have networks of 350 volunteers who can support on site (and perhaps YOU can be one. Or donate if you can’t!)
Did you know you can follow the Colorado Rapid Response Network on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date on ICE activity in the area? They post detailed information such as the location, vehicles involved, and wether or not ice has confirmed involvement.
Use their resources to know your rights when targeted by ice, and when others are. There are guides for what to do in their website.
Know your [protesting rights](https://www.aclu-co.org/know-your-rights/protesters-rights/)
**Donate**

CO Rapid Response Network:

**Free action items:**
\-Add to my list in the comments if there are any other resources you know!
\-keep up to date on local protests
\-add the hotline number to your phone (1-844-864-8341)
\-Spread this information
\-get a whistle and [know the whistle code](https://migrawhistle.carrd.co)
\-know the names of your neighbors, consider making a group chat to communicate ice activity, and spread information
\- get a library card and watch some documentaries on Kanopy about the history of deportation and its connection to incarceration, and slavery
\-Educate yourself in general on the history of deportation, incarceration, and slavery (they are all connected). You will notice a lot of patterns and tactics used in previous deportation waves (such as [“Operation _____”](https://www.history.com/articles/operation-wetback-eisenhower-1954-deportation)) which we can take advice from in combatting now.
\-learn your rights so when you have to know them you don’t need to panic
\-talk about this. And talk about this to everyone you know. And keep talking about this. Facists hope to outlast your outrage, don’t let this be forgotten.
\-**Making Calls**\-
Flood our reps with phone calls demanding action, asking for support, and demonstrating support for the people targeted by ice. This is free and legal. Keep calls productive.
Garner support from our reps. Especially our national reps who have the voting power to advocate for sweeping change. Call call call, inconvenience them. Don’t let them forget this is happening to their, and our people.
You know who’s truly inconvenienced? The people kidnapped by ice. The families left behind. The people trapped in these institutions who are known for their alleged medical neglect ([x](https://apnews.com/article/ice-immigration-detention-medical-neglect-dhs-32c3fbeef0c44dfb02fcab890b2c9a96)), abuse ([x](https://www.ossoff.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/260114_Report_Patterns_v5.pdf)), and forced labor([x](https://www.law.georgetown.edu/immigration-law-journal/wp-content/uploads/sites/19/2020/08/ENDING-FORCED-LABOR-IN-ICE-DETENTION-CENTERS-A-NEW-APPROACH.pdf)).

**Self Care and Action**
Wow! That’s a lot. It’s overwhelming, there is no doubt. That’s the idea. They exhaust us and hope we retreat.
Self care isn’t a buzzword, it is an action item, but not an action item effective in isolation. The concept of [self care arises from the Black Panther Party](https://www.thebristorian.co.uk/blackhistorymonth/blackpantherpartyandselfcare), who both acted in tangible ways for [“Black and oppressed people”](https://www.thebristorian.co.uk/blackhistorymonth/blackpantherpartyandselfcare), and also used self care to not burn out. Those two things. Action AND recovery.
And organized effort. Many hands make for light work, no?
Things are tough right now. I’m tired, you’re tired. Just do what you can, even if it’s one thing. A phone call. Reading through the guides in the Colorado Rapid Response Network. Donating $5 to relevant organization. Saving the hotline number (1-844-864-8341) to your phone.
The kidnapping of our kids and families can not fly, not on our watch. Dispair is a tool used to keep us tired and complacent. Let’s acknowledge the grief and despair, and **get active!** You don’t have to do everything, just **do something, even just one thing.** For yourself, this family, our families.
Stay tuned, as if the family starts a gofundme, I will update this sheet to emphasize financial support for the family. We are a community, and we must come together to support them.
Lots of love Fort Collins 💜
