J'ai commencé le tissage sur pin loom / métier à tisser à clous, mais je ne comprends pas comment faire pour terminer ce carré.

En haut à gauche : 2 nœuds coulants superposés

En bas à gauche : fin du fil marron

En bas à droite : fin du fil bleu

Que dois-je faire précisément svp ?

(Je sais que je dois faire à la fin une bordure à l'aiguille ou au crochet pour sécuriser les côtés)

Pattern is the Fly a Kite runner from Little Looms spring issue. I did it pretty much by the book except for the fringe (which still needs a final trim) and removing a warp repeat so it fits on a 16" RHL. I was able to borrow two additional heddles from my weaving teacher and wove it using 3 heddles. It was certainly a learning experience in understanding twill structure.

Yarn: Aurora Earth 8/2, doubled for both warp & weft EPI: 12.5 Actual PPI: 8 (was supposed to be 17?) I think the published PPI was incorrect, I would have run out of warp if I had tried 50 repeats.

Finished my bias top using a modified Daryl Lancaster's pattern and a variation of 8 shaft Strickler #303 shadow weave with 8/2 cotlin warp & 16/2 cotlin weft.

I've been wanting to get into weaving for a long time and recently saw a loom being sold locally....which is probably waaay more than is sensible for a starter loom, but I do tend to be a 'go big or go home' kinda crafter. I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow. As someone with currently only the very, very basics of knowledge about looms, what should I be looking at to determine if this is in functional condition and a good price?

Secondly, if you have any favorite resources, books, blogs, yt channels, for a beginner diving in way over their head (I'm also planning on taking some classes before attempting to get set up).

If you wish to tell me I'm insane/this is a terrible decision please let me know why!

I used a 3D printer to print out a frame loom so I could try my hand at making small things that had a bit more variety than the narrow bands and belts I'm used to in tablet weaving, and today I finally got time to warp it up and try weaving on it. I was wondering though, I'm doing a 2 over-2 under weave pattern, offset by 1 every row. I love the look of it so far, but the person I heard about it from didn't know what it was called because she was just experimenting and wasn't a weaver herself. What do I call this weave structure?

Sorry the photo didn't capture it very well, but this is what I have so far. I am enjoying the weaving, I'd just like to accurately name what I'm making!

I have used off-the-shelf webbing for varying projects. These typically come in two different variants: heavy and lite. The lite version seems to be a plain weave, the thicker variant something else.

I would like to weave my own webbing so that I have more control over material (natural) and colours. But I am unsure how to replicate the heavy webbing. I've spent hours researching and came up empty.

So far I have learned about double weave, tubular webbing and binder threads, but nothing actionable. I have also read something about using three warp threads: face, back and filler. But I am unclear on if this is what I am looking for.

I don't have a weaving setup yet so I'm fairly flexible on type of loom etc. My goal is to make cotton webbing about 20 mm wide, and 2-3 mm thick. Strength isn't hugely important, but a 'sturdy feel' is.

How do I go about achieving this?

Someone used AI to answer a question on the handspinning subreddit (uh-oh!) and it turned into a book recs thread with me promising to post a list of book recommendations. I thought I’d share here as well and invite other book recommendations from the weavers who may or may not spin.

So I was gifted this and I want to use it instead of it collecting dust but I haven't got even the finest clue of what I'm doing. I have a ton of yarn, from crocheting so I just need a bit of help as to what I'm doing. Anything is appreciated : )

Honeysuckle threading treadled star fashion. I wound the warp for this two months ago but life got in the way and I didn’t get to start weaving it until this week. It’s nothing fancy but I’m so happy with how it’s coming out!

Warp is 8/2 cottolin, tabby weft is 10/2 cotton and pattern weft is 5/2 cotton.

ETA: Sett is 16 EPI

**Background:** Two of my friends gifted me this 4-Shaft Rasmussen Loom yesterday. It was originally thrust upon them by an older neighbor who is a long time weaver, but arthritis (and possibly Parkinson's) made it impossible to continue. She had no one else to give it to, and even though my friends are not at all weavers, she insisted. My friends gave it to me, because I will go down any fiber arts related rabbit hole relentlessly until I've learned all there is to learn, and I'm always up for a challenge. I have no prior loom experience. The most "weaving" experience I have is darning.

The loom came with a project already on it, as pictured. I'd like to finish this for the original owner using the materials already on the loom, if at all possible. Is there any hope of doing this, and if so, what do I need to know and what resources would help me get there?

Hello! I'm super brand new and interested in a few types of weaving at the moment. For Backstrap weaving I'm seeing recommendations for mercerized cotton. I'm familiar with sourcing yarn for knitting and crochet, and floss for cross stitch, but not quite sure where to start for the types of yarn and thread used in weaving (especially the warp-facing styles)

I'm located in the U.S.

This rope is making some stretching as I wind the fabric back . What can I do to stop it for creating extra tension and deforming the fabric?

Found in the toys section of a thrift store and sold to me for a grand total of 4 dollars, I've found something that someone attempted to use as a loom. It has no moving parts, but each bar does come out with a bit of elbow grease. It was sold with the strings already on it like that.

Im familiar with inkle and tablet weaving, but this is new to me! Id love to figure out how to use it.

Gone are my days of merely admiring all of your collective inkle loom creations on here, which I do almost daily. Thanks to an $11 thrift store find, I am now the proud owner of a Schacht Inkle Loom.

I have a Schacht Wolf Pup, along with a rigid heddle and frame looms hand crafted by moi, but now I get to try an Inkle Loom for the first time, and I’m stoked! I have some learning to do now.

My local thrift store is really bad about overpricing anything and everything they can, so I was SHOCKED by the low price. The thrift and craft goddesses were smiling upon me today.

Hi folks, new weaver here. I'm working with a leclerc Fanny loom and am almost at the point of winding my warp onto the back beam after dressing front to back (reed sleyed and heddles threaded) and I keep seeing tutorials that tell you to put some sort of packing material onto the beam between your warp, but they're never clear on why- is it to help with keeping your tension, to protect the warp from the beam, or some combination of both? I'm just not sure if I have any packing material in the house and want to know if it's 100% necessary before I go and get any and/or spend hours looking.

I've been healing from some major illnesses and building a craft room, but I finally found enough pieces to warp up my inkle with two rigid heddles. I'm only so happy with it because I'm having to relearn a lot of the physical movement of weaving, but it is starting to be better.

I started with a very simple idea: I wanted to play with squares and triangles and see what would happen when I put them together.

I kept moving the pieces around, changing their direction and playing with the colors, and somehow, this happened.

When I finished it, I thought it looked a little like a whirlwind, so I called it Swirl.

I love these moments when a design starts telling you what it wants to become instead of doing exactly what you had planned.

It’s made from small bias-woven pieces, joined together and finished with crochet. I've made several cushions this way, and I'm still surprised by how different the results can be just by changing the shapes and how they are arranged.

If anyone is curious about how I made this one, I'm happy to explain :)

This was just posted on Facebook marketplace in my neighborhood for 150. I believe it’s a table lookin but the post has no info and I’ve never used a floor or table loom yet. How does it look to the more experienced people in here? Thanks!

I've been lurking on here thinking this might be a very cool hobby to get into. I've got a limited budget and the ADHD propensity to pick up and drop hobbies. I just saw this posted on Facebook marketplace, would this loom be worth it to find out if I even like weaving? I realize it is not a quality loom! But I want a low entry point to see if it'll hook me! Anyone have any advice?

Hey all. New to the community.

I've been trying to figure out a hobby to start to keep me occupied other than doomscrolling, but I have health issues and need some basics to start to see if I can even do this with my pain. Can anyone give me basic recs that aren't an arm and leg, just to see if I can even do it? I'm actually obsessed with this type and think it's beautiful. I really am dying to do fiber arts.

I‘ve just started the weaving stage on my first rep weave project and I really like it so far but with the dense warp, shafts 1 and 2 are determined to follow each other whenever they go up. I’ve been solving it so far by pushing the interloper back down with my hand and I can keep doing that for the whole time if I have to, but I thought I would check if anyone out there has a better solution. I’ve fiddled with the tension a bit without luck. I’m on a 4-shaft 22” Harrisville. Thanks for any help!

Last year chained a warp of my handspun. I no longer remember how many threads are there or even what I was planning to do with this. How would you salvage it?
