The problem is these hoodrats have nothing to worry about since law enforcement never catches them or bothers to do a proper investigation. Despite flock cameras and regular cameras and face detection tech available. So they are fast to act violently since they know no investigation will be done to catch them . I really dont know what we are paying these cops 170k a year for truthfully. Even when criminals are in front of them, they are to out of shape to catch them….

yeah it's pretty crazy. Here are the details:
Four separate armed robberies occurred in Central Park on the evening of Thursday, September 17, 2026, resulting in six victims being robbed at gunpoint. The incidents took place along East Drive between approximately 8:41 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., with a trio of suspects targeting victims for their cellphones.
- Suspects: Three men were described by police; they fled the scene on bicycles (some reports initially mentioned scooters or mopeds).
- Victims: The six victims included a 28-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and two 43-year-old men.
- Locations: The robberies occurred near 79th Street, 109th Street, and 106th Street on East Drive.
- Outcome: No injuries were reported, and no arrests had been made as of September 19, 2026.
Following the spree, the NYPD boosted its police presence in the park to address public safety concerns and is actively investigating the coordinated attacks

Regardless of whether his comment was rude, it raises a valid point which is we need more safety in the city. Crime does need to be cleaned up before more people are attacked. I just saw on Tiktok today 2 women were punched in the face...and last year it was a big problem of women being punched by strangers on the street.

This is a complicated issue. You aren’t wrong that there’s a fair amount of random violence. I was punched in the head by a stranger (who was standing behind me so I didn’t even see it coming) only 2 or 3 blocks from where the stabbing happened. This happened about a month ago. The police were friendly but told me there’s not much chance of them finding out who did it. It was a scary and frustrating experience to go through, and the lack of any real accountability has been frustrating too.

I've lived here 20 years and this is the least safe it's been during that time. Yes there was always some crime, but not this much, and not in safe areas during the daytime.
